Jesus fuck

How did I not notice this before
>>
I don't even play 40k, but it's spelled "Gellar".
>>
>>44096176
Banachek reference when?
>>
>>44096176
what is the "real thing" the text is referring to?
>>
>>44096176
It's called "Gellar field" and it creates a bubble of reality, which makes it harder to make a contact with the warp. Thus in the warp daemons can't just pass through the ship's hull, they have to materialize. And there's cases of it being used in real space for extra warp protections. I think an inquisitorial vault is equipped with one to secure all the forbidden stuff.

That depends on your source. Some spell it with "a", others with "e".

It's not like words for things today are spelt differently by different people. Color/colour springs to mind.
>>
>>44096176
What is this thread even about?
>>
>>44096242
>what is the "real thing" the text is referring to?
Uri Geller, I assume.

Right, but since the word was invented by GW and didn't come about naturally, we can assume that the way they spell it is the correct way. That said, I'm sure there are plenty of cases where writers didn't bother checking before they spelled it with an "e".

Owlbears, I guess.

Because "Geller field" is so drowned out by the 40k version that it doesn't even appear in the first 3 pages of search results?
>>
>>44096280
>That depends on your source.

You got official sources calling it "Geller"?
>>
>>44096308
Uri Gellar is a """psychic""" heeb fraud. The joke is that rather than being paranormal he prevents that stuff from happening
>>
>>44096469
80s GW was full of naming gags (like Ghazghull being named after Margaret Thatcher and her favourite Gretchin her son, Mark) I'd just never got this one before
>>
>>44096214
>I don't even play 40k, but it's spelled "Gellar".

And it's called 'Avoiding a Slander Lawsuit'.
>>
>>44096360
Where are the Sleight of Hand and Bluff skills?
>>
>>44096805
[citation that Uri owns the copyright to the name "Geller"]

Also, why hasn't Sarah Michelle sued GW for using her name?
>>
>>44096933
He's an owlbear
>>
>>44097056
He tried to sue Pokemon over Kadabra ('Yungerer' in Japan) so I wouldn't put anything past him honestly
>>
>>44097119
Not tried.
Did. He won.
>>
>>44096669
Apparently that one in particular was bullshit fan-theory, and it just corresponds to a bunch of things from the ork language as shown in the RT books.
>>
>>44096176
Should have been called a Randi field.

No. Never mind. I can't say "Randi field" out loud without instinctually thinking of Austin Powers.
>>
>>44097210
Okay now explain Obi-Wan Cleauseau
>>
>>44096260
...way to miss the god damned point.

Well, there is no point. Its a spoon.
>>
>>44096597
So he's a blank?
>>
>>44097685
Nah, just a fraud.
>>
>>44096542
I'm almost certain that the 40kRPG books refer to them as geller fields.
>>
>>44097056
>slander = copyright
Retard.
>>
>>44097304
That was in the Rouge Trader rulebook, complete with a picture, what is there to explain?
>>

Sure about that, sonny?
>>

You're wrong

Holy shit, I'm a blank!
>>
>>44101481
It also explains my lack of social skills.
