We worldbuilt, checked skills, killed minions and slew a miniboss AND a regular boss. They even tried to make friends with a random encounter hobgoblin. They might have been some of the best players I've had.

How do I know if this is real?
I couldn't possibly take anymore disappointment.

Try falling down. If you wake up, then it isn't real.

Seriously though, good on you for having fun.

Welcome to online campaigns, where 80% of them are DMs fishing for easy lore and NPCs for their setting.

>>44093921

So you said you only have two players, right?

So uhh... Are you still looking for more?
>>

I

I never considered that, anon.

Holy shit.

Well, I guuuuuuuess I'm happy all that worldbuilding might end up being used?

Are you free Wednesday nights?

I could have a good time, I just have other games currently. Painful.

You guys worldbuild with players?

For some reason that thought never occurred to me. Is it good?

Not starting a campaign this instant, shame on you OP

Some of my best games have been for two players. The way I see it less people=less distraction from side conversations and more incentive to make less specialized characters so there isn't one "party face" doing all of the talking/paying attention.

Once. I was in a game where the PCs were fallen nobles from countries we designed when we made our characters. It was cool, everybody would throw in little bits of trivia from their home countries whenever they were speaking in-character and it really helped flesh out the world. I'm probably gonna do something similar the next time I run a game in a setting that would allow that kind of thing.

I love doing it. It helps players get invested in the world if they helped make bits of it, and it eases the workload on me.
(That said, my next two campaigns will involve A. somebody else's setting and B. my own baroque thing that I made, with a little help from some of my players)

I just come up with a setting, and some easy plot hooks, and a few dozen background NPCs and let the players go crazy. It's fun to let them connect the dots.
