Started building a world of heroes for my group to roleplay in. Want to see your guys ideas for heroes since /tg/ excels at this kind of thing. Will post all my ideas to keep thread alive.

OK so here's a few from our Not-justice league

>deadman
Isn't invulnerable, or invincible, but is immortal. Wounds heal no matter how severe, can always be conscious without food or water, doesn't require standard sustenance. Has a veiny face And greyed out eyes, has been alive since before the formation of america

>mod
Instantly understands any machine when he interacts with it, as well as being able to detect imperfections/flaws and things wrong with it, as well as knowing what effects said flaws have.

>omnes
Can astral project with a high level of accuracy, can read documents instantly, as well as having eidetic and photo-accurate memory. Is only 16 and lacks wisdom to act on his knowledge.

I'm a fan of "normal" superheroes, so powerhouses, battlesuits and speedsters will always have first place in my heart.
But I also like some other things... for example

>null G
Controls gravity: can fly, crush enemies with very high gravity or disable them with null gravity at leisure. Has a shield protecting the body against all physical attacks... or a distorted gravity field that makes ranged attacks miss a lot.

>kaugammy
Has a gum-like body, which can be sticky and can stretch like chewing gum. Usual method of travel would probably be flinging through buildings, like a sling. Is mostly invulnerable to crush and slash attacks, can regenerate very fast but is fairly vulnerable against cold and heat offensives. But is a nightmare in close combat grappling: very difficult to escape because of the stickyness and imaginative ways of grappling.

Reminds me of pic related

But let's do this!

>Blaze
Pretty basic. He burns shit. Weirdly, he's super into precision and not the let it burn type.

Kabuki - Wears a kabuki mask! And he's entirely covered. No skin showing anywhere. He's actually a bunch of insects working together to make sure mankind doesn't destroy the planet. Ex-eco terrorist.
>>
>>44087297
I think 'both' is a good answer
>>
Reboot
Manifests things from Videogames into reality, Anything from a mech to a army of villagers to repair damage. Also incredibly lazy and prone to falling for a suitably cute/handsome villain.
>>
>The Bleeder
While she has an enhanced healing factor and can heal most wounds, she also has paper thin skin and bleeds like a gutted pig at the merest pin prick. The limits to how much she can bleed aren't fully known, but she was able to fill a backyard swimming pool (not the kiddie kind) before passing out. Her blood isn't compatible with anyone, so she can't donate it.

>Charm
This guy has the power to create good luck in others, turning events in their favor. He cannot make himself lucky, and he doesn't have complete control over exactly how that luck manifests, although it will happen within a short time span of him using his powers.

>Kindling
This small man can spontaneously combust, setting himself on fire. While in his fire form, he can shoot fire from his body like a flamethrower and fly, and is immune to flame. If he is in his fire form for a minute, his body burns up, reducing him to ash. It takes about ten hours for him to regenerate from this (he can only regenerate wounds caused by his fire, not wounds caused by other sources, including other fires). Otherwise, it takes an hour for every six seconds he was on fire to recover from his wounds. The fire form is painful for him, but he's learned to cope with it.

>Moody Mike
An enchanted mood ring grants this man powers depending on his mood. When angry, he can shoot fireballs from the ring and has low level super strength. When happy, he can fly and has low level invincibility. When stressed, he has low level super speed. When sad, he can shoot balls of ice from his ring and has limited phasing powers. The list goes on and on, but you get the idea. Despite going through counseling, Moody Mike isn't good at controlling his emotions (possibly an effect of the ring, possibly he's just a jerk).

Post more ass. In the meantime, I like Metal Heroes ala Cyborg or Ironman or Kamen Rider. I once did a homebrew DC alt universe version of cyborg that could be turned into a separate character.

>parents are liberal peace loving hippies, meet while working for the Peace Corps as engineers
>have son
>mom dies in car accident when he's a teen
>dad falls apart
>they drift apart as son persues athletics instead of science or the arts
>son joins military, pacifist father dead against
>don't speak for a long time
>son deploys to Iraq, sees some shit, comes home
>begins healing relationship with dad, gets hired at his lab as security consultant
>terrorist attack (orchestrated by one of his friends in the military who radicalized, long story)
>EXPLOSIONS nearly kill dude, destroy most of his body
>father refuses to let son die, saves his life with experimental untested cybernetics grafts
>son goes through his emo I NEVER ASKED FOR THIS phase
>becomes superhero to find purpose in life and to bring friend to justice
>also continues to work as a security consultant
>his armor and weapons were all originally nonlethal industrial gear, like his sonic drill which was for mining
>constantly trying to upgrade his stuff but dad won't let him add straight up weapons to his kit so he keeps having to get creative with tools
>keeps a running tally of how much of him is still human by percentage
>often refuses to get parts replaced or upgraded because it would reduce his humanity percentage

And that was my cyborg knockoff. Had a lot of fun with him
>>
>Mallea

Body shaping powers. She can remove and remodel any thing on her body into anything of equal mass, but it cannot revert or be absorbed for 24 hours. Ex. Leg becomes a machine gun. This means mallea is one legged for 24 hours, and all ammo must.come from her body as well.
>>
>>44087554
>bone projectiles.
Give her regeneration too and she'll be playable.
>>
>>44084782
>Bukkake Man
Can make trees generate and spray pollen at ludicrous rates. Allowing him to use them as fire hoses or water jet cutters. Especially effective against people with hayfever.

>Wiretap
Has full access to the data of every single surveillance operation (though unable to alter any of the data), be it a wiretap, key logger, or full blown mass surveillance system.

>Conscience
If there's anything someone's done that can be used to blackmail them, Conscience can acquire irrefutable evidence of it. Even if it shouldn't exist.

>Second Amendment
Can conjure weapons in people's hands and grant the wielders the to ability instinctively use them.

>Procrastinator
Can fling the direct effects of an event into the future, delaying it. So if say someone pulls the trigger of a gun, they can delay the bullet exiting the barrel.
>>
>>44087566
I had a character like this once. Muslim lizard lady who was possibly a century old. Wore a full hijab and niqab. Was green and scaley, had fangs, could spitan secret poison. Had wolverine tier regeneration and also ossmossification powers, so she could grow spines or class of bone, even fire them out of her body. Incidentally this was incredibly painful shit.
>>
>>44084782
>AMP AND GLOW
A two-hero team.
Drake Hawkins is AMP, an electrical engineer exposed to an experimental electron manipulation engine which granted him the ability to generate and manipulate electrons which he primarily uses to generate and control electricity, though he can do other electron-based forces to a lesser degree. He still makes his living as an electrical engineer for the city, but now moonlights as a superhero, though he was somewhat reluctant to do so before Raquel prodded him. He travels by "sliding" along power lines and conductive objects and my making "arc jumps" like an electrical current. He has short brown hair, fair skin, and blue eyes.
Raquel Adams is GLOW, a Drake Hawkin's girlfriend and a physical fitness instructor who was exposed to the same accident as he and generated the ability to thermal energy to create heat and flame as well as fly. She is far more enthusiastic about heroing then her boyfriend, but still in a very good relationship with him. Doesn't wear a costume to hide her identity because when she uses her powers her skin and hair emit warm golden-orange light, hence her name. She has dark skin, brown eyes, and short black hair.
>>
>>44084782
>Denial
Can choose whether or not to have kinetic forces act on him. Kind of a nebulous power but has tons of applications in my head. Bullets don't hurt him because he absorbs their kinetic energy, same goes for falling or getting hit with cars. The objects can either have their energy deflected back or completely absorbed. This has even more interesting properties though. He could theoretically push his way through a bank vault door because he deflects the force it would be pushing back at him with into it.

He isn't immune to energy though. So bullets would give him small burns and if he did try the pushing through the door thing it would probably heat up to a bajillion degrees and burn him.

>The Beatdown
Physical training is multiplied by 100x and has no upper limit, but also resets after 24 hours. Starts out as a scrawny geek every day.

Can become Hulk or Thor level strength if he trains for 20 hours, but often gets caught with his pants down. Though, getting the shit kicked out of him theoretically counts as training, so if a baddy doesn't finish him off quickly enough he can get swole as fuck.

>Conscience
Forces people to experience all the pain they've ever made other people feel/everything they regret. Basically just goes around psychologically mutilating baddies.
>>
>>44084782
Shatter
Able to sense the structural integrity of any object/material they focus on. Visual contact provides basic details, physical contact provides intimate and complex details. Overall, the forces, moments, and shears experienced by or within the object. With the right application of force in the right weakspot can completely upset the structure, in essence "shattering" it.

Absolute
Able to completely lock their body's position in space; so long as they will it they will not be moved from their location. While "locked" in space their body is essentially frozen as it is, causing a form of conditional invulnerability as long as they are "locked". Alternatively they can lock their acceleration while moving, leading to an "unstoppable force" scenario, increasing in severity the longer they remain in acceleration.

Focus
Induces extreme focus in everyone within ~50 feet. This focus is intense enough that anybody affected cannot pull themselves away from whatever they are currently doing. Their attention is so consumed by the task that they cannot mentally process any sensory information that isn't involved with it.

Gonna post some PC's and NPC's from my homebrew

Voodoo
>Inhumanly durable and has rapid regeneration. In addition, he has a psychic power that projects all pain and damage he receives to all those within its radius.

Megamind
> Has heightened awareness and supergenius intelligence. When meditating, he can basically see the future by observing the movements of individual molecules and performing probability analysis based on them.

Gossamer
> The Spiderman expy. He has six arms, eight eyes, mandibles and web for hair. He can climb walls, shoot web and has a venomous bite. Though horribly mutated, he's still pretty jovial and a hero.

Warchild
> Due to being suffused with the energy of Mars, Warchild has extensive knowledge of warfare, military tactics and equipment. She uses this knowledge to protect the innocent. She can wield any weapon, modern or ancient, with unparalleled expertise.

Skald
> A power-rocker wannabe, Skald used to be a joke among the superhero circles before a trip to Scandinavia opened his eyes. Now returned under the moniker Skald, he wields an abomination of a battleaxe and a guitar. His sonic-based powers allow him to shatter stone and weave subliminal messages into music, to inspire allies or terrify enemies.
>>

And now for a villain;
>CARRION KING
Formerly known as Carl Kingsley.
Kingsley was a wealthy inventor who was obsessed with combining the occult and scientific reasoning and successfully exploit and monetize the supernatural, though frequently he was told his ambition outreached his grasp and that he meddled in forces he did not truly comprehend.
Finally completing a sophisticated techno-ritual method meant to harness ectoplasm and convert it into permanent matter (allow him to create whatever he wanted as long as he had an ectoplasmic source) against the warnings of his mystic advisers he enacted the ritual alone after funding was cut.
The result was simultaneously disastrous and successful; the ritual worked, but rather then create solid matter it altered Kingsley's own molecular structure, permanently replacing all nature moisture in his body with ectoplasm while still leaving him a physical entity, and having the unfortunate side-effect of causing him to look like a glowing-white-green corpse and driving him completely mad due to the supernatural agony of the transformation, convincing him that all who strove against his work had sabotaged him and meant for him to die.

Kingsley's body is now only semi-real; as ectoplasm is partially mentally influenced, his deranged willpower amplifies his strength and durability far beyond what a human body can naturally accomplish, allowing him to life up to thirty tons. If he drains energy from a mystical source he can amplify his strength and durability.
By willing his ectoplasmic form to become insubstantial, he can pass through walls or become invulnerable to mundane attacks and fly, though he cannot fight back without solidifying again.
His most dangerous ability is one he requires to exist; his "Death Touch" allows him to drain the lifeforce out of individuals upon contact, which allows him to heal and quickly replenish his strength when severely injured.

>Mr. Faith
A priest that believes he has been given the divine power by God to take on crime by himself.
Actually has extreme control over both his own luck and that of others, but always claims it was by the big man.

>Knights of the Round Table
The story of King Arthur was a true one, with the King having his soul and consciousness fused into Excalibur in order to ensure he can bring justice in any decade. Those who willingly wield the sword allow a part of Arthur into them, so he can grant them his knowledge and strength, however due to the extreme nature of his power a user cannot hold him for long for their own safety. Thus Arthur forms a new knights of the Round Table every few generations in order to share the burden. Currently he is using a collection of homeless people who meet in the citiy sewers.

And my favourite
>THE ANNOUNCER
Always dressed as pic related, THE ANNOUNCER can bend reality with his terrifying commentary.
This can range from minor to earth shattering.
In fights he doesn't get his hands dirty, instead using techniques such as
>Uh-oh! X doesn't realise his shoe's untied!
>>
>>44087524
>The Incredible Glowing Boy
His skin gives off a yellowish illumination. He cannot turn this off, and normal clothing can't mask it. While wearing a special focusing device over his chest, he can shoot concentrated beams of hard light from his chest, which shoot at people like spears. The hard light spears last no more than ten seconds before dissipating as normal light. The Incredible Glowing Boy has had his name for almost two decades and is now nearly thirty.

>Hungry Man
This incredibly large man has a second, much larger mouth on his stomach. This second mouth can spit a very powerful acid. It also has a bite like a hippo. Although it obeys Hungry Man's commands, it sometimes talks back at Hungry Man, or say things Hungry Man doesn't want it to say.

>Queen B
She has the ability to control her colony of bees, which live mostly in her beehive hairdo. These bees can lift her up, granting her the ability to hover (but not fly), or be sent to swarm an enemy.

>Visible Man
He has the ability to see from the eyes of any living person at any given time without them knowing provided he has seen that person in the flesh in the last 24 hours. He also has an aura of visibility: while in an area, things that would normally be hidden or hard to see somehow are much easier to notice. In a fight, the Visible Man has an uncanny ability to almost instantly recognize weaknesses in an opponent (whether or not he can exploit these weaknesses are dependent on his fighting skills, which aren't that great).
>>
>Timeline

Can manipulate the probable states of his own quantum wave, allowing him to manipulate probabilities for his own actions, split his wave to walk down multiple potential timelines (duplication), and to speed up any of his timelines. Can't be killed unless all his probable selves are ended.

(I made this in GURPS to combine Duplication and Altered Time Rate to get a stupid number of actions per round.)
>>
>>44084782
>Leddit
Leddit can pull his powers from anything currently on the front page of reddit.
>>
>>44087726
Perhaps the most disturbing of Carrion King's abilities is his apparent immortality; as his physical body is only semi-real at any given time he can will his body to repair any damage it receives by pulling itself back together, regardless of how much damage he has received; destroyed limbs and holes in his form he can quickly repair, and even complete destruction of his form he can recover from eventually.
His semi-real form is also a weakness; wards that protect against ghosts and spiritual bodies affect him and healing damage requires expenditure of the mental effort he uses to keep his physical form together.
Thanks to his tenuous grip on reality psychological attacks can deeply affect or weaken Kingsley as they erode his will to fight, causing him to slowly fade until he is a shell of his superpowered self and easy to contain behind simply mystic wards.
The flip side is that during his manic phases Kingsley can be nearly unstoppable as his strength and healing is amplified by his insane focus to defeat his perceived foes.

As Carrion King he is a tall man above six feet who is gaunt and emaciated but still has unnatural strength with eerie green-white skin that faintly glows in the dark. His blood is made out of a similar glowing white-green substance. He wears filthy tattered grey rags like a fairytale phantom, and tends to speak in a melodramatic fashion that is highly distinctive.

Playing Champions Online maybe this thread can help me flesh out a character or two.

>Bloody Rose
Two versions of her.(Not in "canon"...I think, might have her become a legacy hero)

One controls her blood to create a pair of swords and amp up her natural skills to fight evil. The other's story starts farther back. countless ages ago in China there was a warlord who wield a pair of swords known as the Blades of Blood, with them he carved out a mighty empire, as it is with most warlords heroes rose to fight him. Countless deaths, his city walls was lined with their heads, all that fun. In time a pair of heroes, each carrying with a mighty blade, one of gold and the other of iron killed him. Time passes and the blades of the heroes become known as the Blades of Blood and the real BoB become lost to time...until our hero finds them. Now she watches over Chinatown in the city.

Both of them pretty much fight the same. Supernatural wirefighting and dual swords with a few more tricks.

>The Rider
(Dear god I have a loose idea of what she is but no idea how to put it into gameplay.)

Born in a no name town out west during height of the Age of the Cowboys (and Outlaws) the future Rider had little hope to ever see anything more than sand, dirt, and cattle. A chance meeting with an alien scouting party and drifter leads to a whole new world. Guided by the drifter's teaching she learned so much about the universe, science, and more. A few weeks later the drifter drifts away, taking with him a good deal of the alien tech. Using what scraps he left behind she created the tools needed to hunt him down. Her quest to find him as taken many a year but now she has the Drifter in her sights and she will make him pay.

I'm sorry for these tons of words

Pinpoint.

Extremely high level of accuracy, excels with thrown weapons, firearms, bows, and other ranged weapons. Keeps an arsenal of such weapons on their person at all times during operations. Also possesses considerable knowledge of acupuncture. Unskilled in all other forms of combat. Keeps their identity hidden.
>>
>>44087584
the Procrastinator actually sounds like an interesting and viable hero. I mean, a dude that literally just delays an effect.
>>
ok /tg/, lets say there's a setting with all these heroes and more, and heroes and villains aren't entirely uncommon, but how would society be in regards to that?
How could we make a convincing society that deals with literally supernatural stuff on a daily basis that doesn't break your immersion or your suspension of disbelief?
>>
All right, here's some interesting capes from Worm:
>Golem
Son of a neo-nazi supervillain (hence the codename), he can slowly insert his limbs into any material as if it was jelly (it never goes through, as if the material became a portal), to make moving scaled up/down copies of that limb unto any surface of the same material in X range. Including previously made limbs, resulting in fractal hands to make walls and such.
He carries around a large belt with hand sized panels of common materials to use his power anywhere.

>How could we make a convincing society that deals with literally supernatural stuff on a daily basis that doesn't break your immersion or your suspension of disbelief?
You don't. The entire point is to make the super world as close to our world as possible, save for the exception of super heroes and everything they bring with them. Deviating from that, you move closer to some other genre instead of being just super heroes. Like, the Legion of Super-Heroes is more sci-fi than super, especially when most of the super-powers aren't even really that super in their universe.

>>
>>44092438
>Coil
Splits into 2 timelines and is aware of the other timeline in both, then must drop the one he dislikes before being able to split again. This results in him only ever attempting things he knows will succeed, cheating in gambling, etc.
>>
>Snuffer
Can turn off or extinguish any light source within half a mile by merely looking at it and willing it dark. Relies on martial arts and a pair of night-vision goggles to dispatch criminals.
>>
>>44092550
>Leet
Can build anything "high tech" or sci-fi. But only once. Each time he tries to replicate something he's built before or something similar, the resulting device has bugs, complications or is just liable to explode in someone's face.
>>
>>44092589
>Clockblocker
Pic related: >>44088607
Can stop something he's touching in time, for a random duration (usually 5-10 minutes). Thankfully, it remains anchored to it's position on Earth instead of it's actual position in the multiverse.
Timestopped things are invulnerable and immoveable, full stop. He uses this to create floating walls or stairs out of handkerchiefs and to just freeze people.
>>
>>44092644
>Ballistic
Can instantly accelerate something he touches to a set (as in he only has one option for speed: lots) velocity in a direction of his choice. It does not matter how big the object is, so car bullets and bits of buildings ahoy.
>>
>Bushido
He'd always fight as if he's at full power, never tire, and completely focused all the time. Even if he had his arm chopped off, a shadowy arm would take its place and still let you wield weapon with it. However, he had no superhuman healing or strength or anything that matters, so injuries are still fatal to him. That afromentioned chopped arm needs to be taken care off immediately to stop him from death by blood loss.

>Janissary
A proficient marksman. Was born with a curse that enables him to heal his wound everytime he killed somebody. So in the end, his strategy usually involves him running straight into the enemy lines, hoping that he would kill them faster before they killed him.

>POV
By closing one of his eyes, he can interract with the object that he is seeing using his hands to move them around. As long as in his eye his finger are pushing or grabbing the object, its is moveable, even if in reality said object is 200 meters away. This is similar to those commercial where a hand could easily changes scenario or lifting a woman to a different restaurant. Sort of

>Woodsman
Had the ability to glued wood or any plant matter in an instant as well as separating them. He could create hybrids easily, as well as forming stakes and spears by literaly shaping a log as if they were a clay. He cant molecularly alter plants actually, it just works. Concentrating, and his body could passed out botanical bodies if he ran into them.

>Kindly and Princess Prettyful
A meek girl whose life are protected by her invisible, magical, pony childhood imaginary friend, Princess Prettyful. Kindly herself actually had an innate superpower to spread happiness to other people, lowering their aggression and calming them.
>>
>>44084782
My advice? If anyone says anything about 'WORM', kick them out of your group at the very least, though you should really never talk to them again and actively shun them.
>>
I ran a Mutants and Masterminds game awhile back. My players all min max so before I let them make characters I wanted to see how broken a character I could make so I'd know what I was in for. I made these and actually ended up using them as villians.

>Captain Pear
Can turn anything into a pear. Difficulty scaled with distance, size, and whether or not it was alive. Made by optimizing shapeshift powers.

>Non-Euclidian
Basically a dude who could flicker into a higher realm of existence for a second to dodge most anything. More he used the power the more likely it became he would lose control and basically vanish from existence. Was made by putting all points into every dodge based ability I could think of.

>The Big 'Un
I put literally all points into size. He ended up being the size of a small sky scraper and like some absurd weight or some shit. Basically he was used as a siege weapon.

>RNG
I loaded up the superpower wiki random page and she got whatever power came up. I then rolled a d4 to see how many turns it lasted. If it was outside combat I rolled a d6 to see how many minutes she got the power for. I reserved the right to reroll things that made the character god. Character was below average in literally every way but damn she was a fun villain.

>Tracer
Could fire bullets that couldn't be dodged. Was made by putting points into TK and basically any ranged skill.

>Forethought
The reason I didn't allow time travel. He was a mathematician who could send something the size of a baseball forward or backward in time up to 3 minutes. He would basically toss a ball at head level and shunt it in time and rely on the Earth's movement to make sure it would reappear in the person he hated's head. Max int and limited time skills.
