Are MUDs /tg/?
Probably
>>44073272
If dorf ort is /tg/ MUDs better fucking be.
>>44073272
Yes
do good MUDs even exist tough
>>44073272
what the hell is a MUD you weirdo millennials?
>>44073272
Literally online role playing games.
You best believe they're /tg/.
Just that I suspect most people here are too young to ever have dealt with them much.
>>44073934
Multi-user dungeon. Text-based precurssor to MMOs.
Absolutely zero millenials would know what a MUD is unless you're one of those people who consider kids born in the 80s to be millenials.

>Just that I suspect most people here are too young to ever have dealt with them much.
Yeah, all I know about them is that there is such a thing as a Discworld MUD and that HellMOO is basically FATAL.
>>44073934
>doesn't know what a MUD is

>>44073934
quit copying your dad's shitposting kiddo
Valheru players get in here!
>>44073990
I'm 18 and I've been playing MUDs for years.
>>44073922
Yes, but not enough people play them to make them worth playing. The glory days are dead.
>>44073922
Yes.
>>44074133
WoW's release pretty much gutted the MUD population.
>>44073977
Yeah nah, /tg/ is technically for traditional games, and electronic games are not traditional. Quest faggotry, vidya, and cyoa shitposting are not traditional games. I know you're going to disagree because you're a stupid person, but I'm just letting you know the truth in case somebody else reads this and wonders what's up.
>>44074426
How come you're not posting with your admin tripcode on?
>>44073922
MUDs are as good as the people who play them.
The problem is no one plays them.
>>44073922
I don't know about good, but one anon storytimed his adventures as a sissy slut in HellMOO and that seemed pretty fun.
Alright, anons, what are the good MUDs that should be tried out?
>>44073934
>>44074032
>>44077440
Sounds interesting. Got an archive link?
>>44077440
I played HellMOO once. Got raped.

>WoW
MMOs in general, really.
Anyone else played Sindome and Cybersphere back in the day? They're not about ERP fyi, despite the names
Are there any HUDs still up that are worth playing?
>>44073934
Underage b&
>>44073922
Discworld Mud?
Can anyone recommend some pulpy / 20th century setting ones?
>>44074032
>>44073934
holy shit
>>44076942
Because, unfortunately, he's not an admin that can purge the cyoa faggotry.
>>44083543
I swore off Cottonelle after they discarded the cute puppy advertising.
>>44073272
TGMUD is still up and running, so I'd say yeah. Still fun to play around in sometimes, when there's one or two other people online.
>>44077176
>MUDs are as good as the people who play them
This is pretty much true of all games, imo.
>>44073272
Does it even fucking matter? /tg/ has threads that are nothing but Star Wars movie and video game talk, with little or no talk concerning any of the tabletop games for the series. Just make your shitty thread and shut the fuck up, dumbass.
>>44073990
The millenial generation is the last generation to be born before the turn of the millennium, not the FIRST. Children of millenials are old enough to shitpost on the internet. If you want to play the "get off my lawn" card please at least use it on the right generation:

If I remember correctly, MUDs were among the games that Commander Keen rescued from /v/ years ago, but I've seemed to have lost that image somehow.
anyone have that pic?
>>44077490
I really enjoy Sindome. Populous (usually thirtyish people, fiftyish at peak hours) and pretty fun. It's all roleplaying though, very little combat unless you go searching for it, and next to no NPC enemies. Just a fun cyberpunk RPG, I dig it.

>Have telnet question
>Trying to figure out where to ask it

>See this thread
Huh. I really -don't- even need the other boards.
So! Question. Used to be big into playing MUD/MUCK/MOO games, but unfortunately a series of admittedly fucked-up events have caused me to lose my computer (Brick'd by Power Surge), my laptop (Asshole put his foot through it) and my tablet (how the fuck does a cat crack a screen by -laying- on it??), leaving me with a shitty Windows phone for my internets until I can afford to get something fixed or replaced.
That in mind, anyone got a suggestion of how to find a non-shitty telnet client for a Windows phone? Tried hunting through the Market, but most of those are either undocumented and undetailed enough to be as much the opposite of helpful as possible, or - in the case of doing a search for 'MUD' - unable to have sites added to their severely limited address book of games.
In other words, unless someone has a suggested client, I'm probably SOL for the next few months at the earliest. So, as I said, suggestions?
