My question ins ALL of this. Why even have a DC of 25 if we are just rolling for a 20 anyways.
Why not just make it a DC of 20 to leave out the bloat of a +5 for literally no reason but to make it seem harder.

Because if you have a +5 mod then you're gonna get a 20 on a 15
The mod is independent of the roll and serves to keep track of your proficiency, in a more stable way than "the DM just adjusts DCs accordingly to differing skill levels"
Which would lead to stuff like one character climbing a cliff at DC 10 and another at DC 16

But in this case we all have the mod. Why not just make it a DC 20, have them roll 20 and let that be the end of it?
It's not like we all have various mods in this scenario, or anything else the other variable in this instance is the result of our dice roll that might or might not result in 20.
It makes sense in an actual application, but in this specific case it provides nothing to anyone.
