Your people have always been a simple folk. But you are smarter and more cunning than your brothers and sisters. Once your father died you claimed the title of chief, no one opposed you because of your skills as a [leader class] You are [Name Him/Her] Big Chief of the bullywugs.

oops forgot we have 10 turns of food

any objections to these actions? if not I need 1d100, taking the best two rolls.

>>

alright so its j'amp guud
im okay with hunter/tactical being the same thing
so we are locked into scouting
do we want weaving or a better spanningpool? weaving will increase food supply but a spawnig pool will increase the amount of younins we get

You set to work sending your scouts out to the borders of the swamp your tribe controls. They come back reporting on the current borders of the land you share with the other bullywug tribes. The scouts from the west and south report no signs of other tribes up to the edges of the swamp. The scouts to north find Claudhapper presences and those to the east find a markings that skomjampers are encroaching. To the Northeast they see the claudhappers and skomjampers fighting, luckily your scout escape unharmed.
>Pic related, we are red sphere of influence, Claudhappers are purple skomjampers are gold

A new spawning pit is started however it is slow work with no tools. It will take almost 4 turns to complete. (can reduce by using an extra action)

The females have layed their eggs. Bullywugs have large clutches of eggs but few survive to adulthood

Send a delegate to the Claudhapper tribe. Work out a diplomatic deal of non aggression, seeing as how they're busy with their war, they don't need more hassle from another border. Hint that later on it may even develop into an alliance against the other tribe, if they show they can honor this deal.

Can we also attempt to domesticate cattle?
>>

we would need to look for some cattle
unfortunately cattle are very uncommon in the swamp
But diplomacy is a good tool, especially for a great tactician

Representatives are sent to the two neighboring tribes under a banner of peace. The claudhappers attack your emissary fearing a trick luckily he is able to escape without serious injury, but the skomjampers welcome him to talk.
The leader of the skomjampers is M’tik the wise
“We have long been at odds with the claudhappers, for generations we have had murtagh, or bloodfeud with them. We would welcome peace on one front so that we may fight on another. The cost of the peace is that it is returned. Any buildup along our border will seem to be an attack and will be treated as such. Do not disappoint me youngling.”

Another scouting party is sent out looking for food. They come upon a large group of giant hoppers. The largest are about twice the size of a bullywug. They are able to spear a few of them and bring them back (+3 turns of food) (+location of hoppers learned)

A member of the tribe has an idea. It involves attaching vines to each other. Most of the other tribe thinks its silly but he should be able to create something to impress J’amp. (3 turns till weaving)

Scout go out looking for more materials for spears. Mainly good rocks and nice sticks. They bring back more than you can shake a stick at, which is a lot compared to how many sticks you have. (100 units wood, 100 units stone)

An idea is had to make a special spears for cutting trees and digging holes. They should be done in 2 turns

>Act1: Finish spawning pool
>Act2: Try to tame hoppers (if this is possible in current tech level)
>>
>>44037667
spawning pool will auto finsh by next turn
taming hoppers is a reach but we could increase our chances by either devoting both actions to it or finishing weaving earlier to make it easier to catch them
>>
>>44037699
I think husbandry is more important. We could then enlarge the farms to constantly support the growing population, and then we could also RIDE THEM TO BATTLE

Work is started on a place for the hoppers to stay it will be done in 2 turns.
The scout who first rode the hoppers is named [name him], and put in charge of future scouting missions because J’amp looks for creativity and inventiveness in his tribe. (hero unit bonus to scouting)
While observing the now docile hoppers, you find they seem to eat vegetation.

The special spears are ready. We call the ones for trees axes and the ones for digging shovels. -20 wood and stone. +20 axes, +20 shovels

The art of combining vines together is perfected! We now have many nets we can use for fishing, and with research we can make nets bigger and better.

Would you consider an economic system rather than arbitrary food collection and pop growth? Including allocation of workers.

Say, we can decide to allocate or subtract citizen workers, for either foraging, fishing, hunting or farming, or all. each citizen gives a certain amount of food per turn, and each citizen consumes a certain amount of food per turn. So a worker may give +5 food, and each citizen consumes 1 food. This would enable things, like job allocation for the population, rewards for technological improvements (more food per turn from workers with better tools or farming methods), food gifts for other tribes, and pop growth management, as each egg we lay costs food, say 0.5 or less. Also build granaries for food cap.
>>
>>44041585
Pop: 400 (-400 food per turn)
Farmers: 100 (+500 food per turn)
Food stockpiles 700 food
500 new eggs (-100 food)

Can also increase rations to raise morale
>>
>>44041585
yep
Once we get beyond a primitive tech level we will be able to specialize more. Right now we are a simple society and we don't really have any specializations. our new hero will actually let hunting become more of an automatic thing, just task X hunters and they will bring in Y food. Once the Pop gets big most of that stuff will take care of itself. especially once we get agriculture
>>
>>44041781
im also open to any way you want to try and raise morale
it fleshes out the culture more than anything else
>>
I am back

>>44042002
>>44041989
For culture I could suggest holding a celebration, having night filled with frogsongs with music? Creating trade goods? Like having extended research to the livestock can yield was to process them effectively, meaning cooking different parts separately, making use of leftover parts like the hide/bones using them to create decoration musical instruments etc.

As for culture "trading eggs" with other Bullwug tribes could mean the bonding of the tribe, sharing our songs.

Trading goods in general can also be explored.
