Recently: You're just about to have your third Pokemon League battle with Ritchie. You bonded with fellow trainers by having a fun sudden competition.
General rules:
There is a 10 minute voting period after each post. Non-contradictory votes will be combined as best as possible.
Write-ins for all votes or always welcome and encouraged. They may not all make it into the post or be altered to fit in, but I'll do my best to at least try to address the spirit of the write-in.
Very important or contentious votes may be redone in a stricter voting system as it comes up.
Combat involves rolls! Once there's a clear winner, we roll for the move accuracy/crit/secondary effect. Usually it's just three 1d100s. Sometimes you can get a modifier from circumstances, so be creative! Add flair, do tricks with moves, mess with terrain, whatever!
Call me out on a mistake and receive an apology butt or suggestive picture.

You wake up feeling sore. You were up late last night getting important synergy training done with Oberon. You feel like you’ve both gotten to know each other better. He’s not aggressive like Levi, but assertive. He believes in a strong chain of command. He gets thrown off by levity and games and takes his training and commands seriously. By the time you were done, you and he could anticipate each other very well. You feel this could really make a difference in a match.
You and your two girls get dressed, walk into the common area of your luxurious suite, and see Vance and Jeanine already up.
Jeanine is on the computer. She’s got printouts, newspapers, and dozens of windows open on the PC. “I couldn’t sleep. Something was bugging me about Ritchie.”
“Oh crap. He’s not really a murderer or something, is he?”
She shakes her head. “No. Nothing bad. But this is super weird.”
“La la la!” You plug your ears. “After the match. Don’t tell me until after the match!”
She blinks. “Yeah. This probably isn’t relevant.” She yawns. “Speaking of your match, you don’t have that much time, do you?”
You look at the time. You can do a bit before the match, but not that much. You could train, or you could chat more with the other trainers. Seems someone has been spreading nasty rumours about you.

Clair glares at her. It’s a nasty one. You’re glad she’s not the one with a laser eye.
“I don’t get it,” Vance stretches.
“Nothing!” You, Clair, Jeanine, and even Robin answer in unison.
He shrugs. You and Jeanine hold hands and mediate.
You meet Dark Kat. She’s holding up in a tall tree. For some reason you can’t climb it to get to her. But she sees what you’re doing, how you climb and how you don’t fall to your doom. She climbs down a few branches. It’s well out of your reach still, but it’s progress. You’re sure you can mega-evolve Raistlin with a little push, and you’re closer to Dan and Levi.
You open your eyes. Jeanine smiles. “Your aura is looking very untangled these days. I wish we had more time.” She picks at nothing around you. “Still a lot of cleaning to do, but much better. It's...well, it's nice to see. I was worried about you back in Sandorp.”
You just give her a look to try to say all the things you want to. “Thanks.”
You and your friends go to the arena. You don’t have any problems or have to rush this time. You pause before the battler-only entrance. You could change Pokemon if you want. All you know for sure about Ritchie is that he has a very skilled Pikachu.

You hope you have the right balance of Pokemon to cover your bases. You also partially want to make sure everyone has a chance to shine. They’ve all trained hard.

The crowd cheers. It’s a lot more packed than the last match. You were told this is where it gets really serious, so that makes sense.
“As all trainers were notified, this will be a four on four match.”
Wait, what? Nobody told you that. You glance to your friends in the crowd. You can barely make them out here, but they seem as confused as you are. You see a women with a large hat and sunglasses. She lowers the glasses and you’re pretty sure she winks at you.
Violet. The champion.
The timer is counting down. You’ll need to throw a Pokemon soon. Ritchie lifts a Pokeball. “Good luck,” he mouths.

Ritchie throws out a Butterfree. You see it’s picture also appear on the big jumbo screen. It has registration information. He’s named it Happy.
The arena is the dusty type. There are small ponds, small patches of grass, but it’s mostly flat dusty terrain. The third of the arena closest to you and closest to Ritchie have tall boulders strewn about. The middle is almost entirely open.
The Butterfree makes a high pitched, friendly noise. You know that as cute as they seem, they can cause a lot of problems with all those powders. This one's ability is Tinted Lens though, so it won't have the accuracy boost Fel does.
The starting timer counts down.

Trunks moves quickly. His legs do that creepy thing where it’s like they’re pulling him along the ground. He cackles as he closes the distance. He leaps into the air, raises his fist, and throws it into Butterfree’s face.
Ritchie yells to his Pokemon. In response, Butterfree heroically flies into a rock, face first, and falls over.
The ref wastes no time. “Happy the Butterfree is unable to battle!”
Ritchie retrieves it. He says something to his Pokeball, then grabs the next one. The crowd is still cheering as he throws the next one out. They get even louder as his Charizard appears.
The jumbo screen calls it Zippo.
Infestation is still rolling over Trunks.You can't retrieve him yet.

Trunks slams into Charizard hard from out of nowhere. The blow lands hard, but Charizard is fresh. It’s a solid strike, but not as graceful as you’d want. You suspect a smaller Pokemon would be thrown back.
The friendly looking Charizard roars at Trunks. Not your typical primal roar, but more like a professional courtesy. “I’m going to destroy you. You better run.”
Trunks is badly hurt. You’re in a bind. You can’t quite bring him back yet thanks to Infestation yet, but he’ll drop at any second. You can try using Destiny Bond, but you’d have to get lucky in order for Trunks to move fast enough to pull it off. And if Charizard decides not to attack and continue buffing up, it’d be a waste.

You reach to your best. That Charizard took a Phantom Force to the face, but it’s also got a very well done Swords Dance. Whoever fights it needs to be able to take it out, take a hit, or avoid direct blows.
