Beer isn't high enough proof to catch fire. Stuff needs to be about 70%+ for it to catch fire, and there's few beers of that caliber unless they're some weird specialty by BrewDog or something.

It was a dragon that made it's nest in a Dwarf hold and chased them all out, I had actually written a bit in the story where they could have poured beer from the brewery down into it's lair and try and get it drunk enough to dull it's wits. It's tolerance would have been based on a dice roll.They made peace between the dragon and the Dwarfs.

ONE. And that's the problem - he's a homebrew class called Drunken Caster, who gets more powerful the more tanked he is. He became the BBEG when, thanks to a comedy of errors entirely the fault of the party rogue (don't deny it, Steve), he accidentally a flagon of Bacchus' personal best and became literally drunk with power.
Needless to say, it was not at all a serious campaign.
