Black Templar thread? AMEN AND ATTACK
:C
>>43890528
Forever 4000 to 6000 marines, no matter what anyone says!
>>43890811
fuck the codex!
>>43890811
>>43890839
>>43890528
Here's the pic on it's actual size, since OP fucked up
haven't played in years, what do you think of the current rules for BT?
>>43891378
Dem proportions
>>43891396
id say there spot on, considering how huge the space marine armor was. dem pauldrons
>>43891398
Traitor Ultramarine? This pleases me as a Word Bearer fag.
anyone got stories of BTs going rambo on the battlefield and shrecking?
>>43891182
I like this shape of armor, but it's coming close to the SoB.
omfg i just took the biggest dump ever. Atleast 3-4 inches across. i thought i was giving birth
Any good alternatives for black templar scouts?
>>43891706
yeah, you're right, I always felt like there was something wrong with that pic, but now I finally gaet what it was.
>>43891918
>>43891934
>>43891949
>>43891970
The thing I don't understand is why they always depict him with a somewhat weird standard space marine helmet instead of giving him the silver skull one that kept being mentioned in the books
>>43892081
it's what his model looks like
3 in my Champ lineup is >>43890528 so on to 4
>>43892119
why would they make a chaplain without the chaplain's most distinctive and badass feature
ive been thinking about getting an emperors champion, and i wanna know (have you ever seen the rain) if he has different gear available to him or does he only have the sword
>>43892207
because hes already badass enough
>>43892231
he come with everything you need but honestly he is over priced (in points) this edition, you'd be better off runing him as a captain of some sort
so many goddamn street signs
>>43891706
I agree. Very feminine.
And I'm done for a bit.
>>43892546
We will be here.
>>43891847
>From Dark Millennium
I was fucking heartbroken when that shit was canceled.
>>43892799
>no trigger control
Absolutely heretical.
Moar. Especially with Sisters and Templars. Templars have been almost as left behind as Sisters.
>>43890811
Even as a non-BT fan, I'd rather they be greatly above-strength.
Granted, I prefer Space Marine chapters in general being more than 1,000 in strength.
>>43891706
DARE YOU INSULT THE EMPEROR'S HIPS?
*Sashays challengingly*
>>43891706
I think the shoulder/hips ratio is still quite manly. That armour is sexy af.
>>43893264
>>43892350
>>43891840
>>43891706
I think its trying to emulate the shape of Gothic Plate armor with its flaring hips. Far more aesthetically pleasing than the usual fridge shaped marines
>>43893990
The problem is that marines *are* supposed to be al big and frindge-y, so it looks kinda weird
OK let's dump a few more.
>>43893990
Nah, it's just that the torso is twisted a bit, but the hips are seen square on.
>>43891601
>nope, fuck this I'm out
#8 is >>43892799 so on to 9
>>43891449
what's with the gratuitous posing brothers? D-Did I miss Crusade day again?
>>43895855
>D-Did I miss Crusade day again?
For fuck's sake, brother.
>>43892159
why does the serf have a space marine helmet?
You'd think there'd be a bit more of this matchup given the relative dispositions of the two factions.
>>43896280
He's drawn to look like one of Grimaldus' cenobytes. See >>43891934
>>43896345
awwwww ok, cool
>>43896345
The marine seems more shocked that his purity seal is gone.
>>43896439
>You son of a bitch, I spent MINUTES writing that! MINUTES!
Just about out of Templar stuff, so here's one of the shorts from the comic. No, I don't have the one with the boltgun, if someone else does they can post it.
And that's it for me. Carry on.
>>43890988
I wished we had more fluff on the keeps, its such a cool idea that a chapter has their mini-empire spread across the galaxy that act as staging and refuelling points for future crusades.
How the hell they fight enemies needing a psyker to banish them, whack and shoot them to back to the warp?
>>43897089
GIT THE FUCK OUT WITCH
>>43897089
>whack and shoot them to back to the warp?
With FAITH AND FIRE! Same as Sisters of Battle.
>>43897428
dem tabbards
>>43897428
>This sucks.
>I'm cold.
>I wish I was purging witches right now.
>My Power Armor isn't as nice as Brother Albrecht's
>Fucking Albrecht gets all the nice stuff.
Some that haven't been posted yet
>>43897350
Not even family is safe.
And the last one
>>43892133
>greathelm helmet
muh dick
tell me, why should I choose the black templars a my favorite chapter?
>>43899345
Because they eternally carry on the Great Crusade the Emperor started. They get shit done. Righteously and with no fucking around. They take full advantage of their status and abilities as superhumans to stab everything that isn't loyal to the Emperor right in the face.
So what strategies have people come up with for black templar armies?
>>43899345
you know why
>>43899485
Same as always, spam marines and tanks and shove them down the enemy's throat.
>>43899660
Drop pods and dreads are useful for us too.
>>43899660
Do you give em boxes?
>>43899485
I've been thinking of taking a regular CAD with 6 full squads of crusaders and neophytes and running up the board as fast as I can.
Also probably that chaplain & command squad formation to give everyone zealot. But instead of putting them in the paperback keep the squad on bikes and leave the lazerback to snipe vehicles.
Alternatively you could just run the Gladius free car formation with a Scout detachment and pretend they're neophytes...
>>43900171
Nigga, that's literally the pic on the OP
>>43900270
But much bigger. Also, look at the filename and then take a close look at the marine.
>>43900329
the bigger and uncropped version was already on the 5th post in the thread tho.
>>43899942
Crusader boxes for the crusader marines, so they can crusade eternally.
>>43900239
The Reclusiam formation does absolute jack shit for BT, we got Grimaldus that can give everyone within 6'' Zealot & FNP for like half the points of that formation, stick that nigger in a LR and suddenly his bubble will empower everyone! Grimaldus is a fucking beast this edition.
>>43900171
Let's say that geedubs decides to remove the Ultras from the spotlight for a moment and decide to Vidya starring the Black Templars, what would be the best way for it to suceed?
>>43903021
Take a note from chinese genocide games
>>43903021
Action RPG, you start as a neophyte dropping down to the kill zone with your squad, your Big Brother tells you to hold the bolter and provide covering fire as he charges the enemy when suddenly artillery strikes wipe the entire block, the enemy and your squad. After the smoke clears you hear a voice down in the crater, the remains of your big bro tells you that you are ready for the Eternal Crusade and hands you his purity seal so now you have to rejoin the main force and become a full blown battle brother.
>>43903021
Fortress monastery that acts as a hub between missions.
Squad combat.
A variety of enemies that aren't just orks and nids.
>>43903137
That might be interesting. The game might jump around from character to character so you play as an initiate, a neophyte, a battle brother, a sword brethren, the emperor's champion, and maybe a dread.
>>43903021
Like the Space Marine game, but cranked up x10. The close combat in that one is pretty much how a Black Templar fights.
>>43903235
The problem with Space Marine was that it turned kinda repetitive after a whille, how would you fix that?
>>43903488
Same general combat, but have the missions be broken up and not free-flowing One level you're in a tactical squad advancing over ground and holding the line. One level you're in terminator armor clearing some claustrophobic ancient ruins. One level you're swinging a greatsword around taking down elite enemies.
>>43903488
More weapon variety for one thing. It left out the flamer and powerfist, for instance. Also more variety in enemies too. The tactics or the Orks and the Chaos Marines and traitor Guardsmen were quite true to form, so I would see the same sort of thing for Eldar, Necrons, Tau, Nids and so on. I for one don't mind it being repetitive if each fight is a satisfying bloodbath of righteous rage.
Now, if this was combined with the RPG and customization elements of DOW 2, we'd really have us a fine game.
>>43903600
This too.
>>43903206
Well the idea that I had was that the crusade was completely fucked, their battle barge brought down into the planet and their command wiped by the enemy so you had to complete certain missions that you could choose in order to give the crusade a chance to rearm and give you bonuses as you complete them (Like you get the choice between retaking a manufactorum, pushing the frontlines or a rescue mission of some sort. The factory would give you power armor, the frontlines more experience and the rescue mission a chaplain that will accompany through missions, eventually dying and turning you into the chaplain or something like that.). The bonuses would apply only once after they are given to you, so say you have 3 optional missions, you choose one and get the bonus and after that you have the other 2 but now without the bonus BUT also 2 new ones that have different bonuses. Eventually you will build your character with the bonuses that you chose to complete.
Ive also had the idea of instead of exp the character has Zeal/Faith, this would be lost on death but if you manage to stay alive long enough and acquire enough faith next time you died you'd become a dreadnought for the rest of the game. Faith points would also act as currency to upgrade your shit.
Thats the kind of 40k game I'd like to see.
