OK, you sorry sick bastards. I'm Lord General Orphelius Pangor, or more affably known as Lord General O.P. You will make me a regiment now, or I will have the Quartermaster shove a stake up your ass. Now, give me a 1d10 roll!

I've got something, I guess.

>You see this picture?
Yeah, you do. This is our main concept. These guys are like, the people from the Edgar Burrough's Mars or some shit. I bet these fucks think oxygen as a valuable resource to be spent wisely, or think of it as a drug. These dudes probably use crude swords and spears to be fast in killing, you know?

Maybe our world is covered in ancient, overgrown bio-domes? Our world has only recently been brought into the Imperium, with it's population having descended into savagery and tribalism. We use shock and awe because it's better to scare off your enemy, due to actual fighting risking damaging the domes?

What if the bio-domes were originally a starting point for terraforming, but eventually became overgrown from the dark age of technology?

They'd be entire ecosystems amongst the different bio-spheres, all interconnected, as well as various animals and predators adapted to life in the biosphere

Space camels? Or tigers? We could add the modified weaponry, for you dudes who love a little more characterization. Now, a 1d100 for our Creed.

What do you anons say if we made it mandatory to have two allies, and two enemies? For a sector-wide party, of course.

I like the idea that the bio domes extend underground with the actual domes poking above ground to get that sweet sweet sunlight.

And seeing as we're a caste society of some sort maybe our guardsmen and women are nobility of sort who live in the domes while the others live further underground.

So I guess the usual routine for the regiment is massive and quick alien-cavalry charges/flanking for shock and awe. I would assume these guys don't really use heavy guns, so they'd definitely need other IG backup in direct confrontation with our Eldar and Chaos friends. Also what kind of Chaos in particular do they deal with?
>>
>>43888875
Nurgle perhaps? Maybe there is a part of the bio dome that is toxic and a cult sprung up around it.
>>
>>43888875
It depends. What I'd like to focus on is their traditions, and how it affects their behavior and personality.
>>
>>43888895
The subsequent fighting and/or Nurgle diseases could have could have rendered that dome and
others uninhabitable/destroyed of some of the biodiversity in the domes.
Since these sacred bio domes are probably incapable of being repaired, if I were they I'd probably be pretty pissed.
>>
>>43888952
Ok. Going on from the basis they live/under in old, irreplaceable domes that might be their only source of food, they could be careful and weary of the consequences of their actions.
Perhaps not all the domes or the biospheres within have survived until 40k and serve as reminders of the fragility of their existence?

So they basically treat their domes with care, I can understand that. What kind of lives do they live? I assume the higher castes are more picked than the lower castes due to higher fertility and healthier offspring. The lower castes have to deal with malnutrition, diseases, and the giant tigers that are just a few miles away. Due to this, there is a distinct order of command in this regiment. In some cases, guardsmen that are of a higher caste than their commanding offices might usurp control.

Is there a drawfag here? I want a symbol for these guys.
>>
maybe with the scarcity of above ground space given that only the domes can sustain surface life the lower castes are forced to live underground and dig tunnels for resources/food?

Maybe even more dangerous wildlife that space tigers live underground, some kind of dire mole?

Then you'd have the he-man esque higher caste members who live on the surface wrestling space tigers, and the psueo-mole people lower caste members living underground digging tunnels. Would give them good grenadier style troopers and good sappers/engineers?
>>
>>43889309
Let's try differentiating the three castes.

The highest are the keepers, the men and women who selfishly guard the secrets of the domes, even from Imperial authorities. They know how to keep the domes running, as well as it's secrets. The Adeptus Mechanicus have tried to take their secrets by guile and force, to little success.

In the middle are the mole-men. These are the scum, and the servants of the keepers. They maintain the bunkers and man-made tunnels that connect the domes together. They also serve as the planet's standing force, ready to die in case of an enemy assault.

And the lowest are the Nomad-Traders, men and women who slink by the domes. They are not loyal to the Keepers nor in good standing with the mole-men. Thus they are viewed with a fair bit of suspicion. They serve (unofficially) as the spies and messengers between the domes.

---

The reason why the planet of Burroghniax is closely linked with the Imperial Navy is because they have little space to mount anti-space and air defenses, meaning they have to rely on the Navy a bit more. In exchange for the protection, the planet has a port for sailors to unwind and relax on.
