What is the most, non controversial, Primarch? The one that is just okish and most of TG can agree isnt the most worst or best, just talk about without the stupid drama?

Is there just an ok primarch TG?
>>
>>43844008

> Immediately eliminated
Lion- Autistic
Perturbo- Autistic, Decimation
Russ- Hypocritical asshat
Dorn- Iron Cage, Unwieldy
Curze- Edgy/Husbando wankfest
Lorgar- Muh feelings
Vulkan- Lives

I'd say Ferrus. Everybody loves Ferrus, he's just competent enough to be a badass without crossing over into Mary-Sue.
And his origin story has him drowning a metal dragon to death in lava.
>>
>>43844008
>Angron confirmed for manlet.

Massive small-man syndrome.

Ferrus

I'd say Guilliman, but he's too successful for anyone to talk about without bias.

I agree. He's the most metal of all the Primarchs.

I just wish they hadn't had him die like a bitch, but it lead to his legion being interestingly fucked up.
>>
Sanguinius is not a source for much shitposting usually
>>
I'd say magnus , ferrus and sangy. Magnus didn't do much wrong till...the whole ripping the Web way a new one trying to warn his father of the doom. For that I see him alot more like a Greek tragic.

Ferrus well basically what>>43844008 said

And sangy was a kind hearted man of the people.
>>
I'd say Khan. He's pretty forgettable all things considered as a primarch.
>>

Him being killed keeps black library's claws from getting to him properly and ruining him.

It's a blessing, if anything.
>>

Unfortunately, at least one Primarch needed to die at Istvaan V. The amount of Marines that died, no Primarch's dying would just be completely unbelievable.

Corax.

>Not a traitor or a snowflake (for a Primarch), so no need for an overly dramatic story. Solid relationship with most brothers, Peturabo being the exception.
>Mid to good tier fighter, holds his own against his brothers
>Competent, and you never hear anyone bitch about his special power, becoming invisible.

>Disappears like many other loyalists Primarchs. Leaves behind a legion just as mid-tier as he is.
>>
Corax.

If the criteria is "ok-ish" then my boy fits the bill. He was raised in a prison colony, freed everyone, did a generally ok job leading people.

He wasn't overly headstrong like Ferrus, he's certainly not OP, he's not autismal. He's ok.

Khan, maybe because there isn't much that we know about him other than Biker mongol IN SPACE!

That's the point of his whole legion. Brotherhood of the Storm and Scars go into wonderful detail about this, with the legion and the Khan preferring to be left alone to act as they wish.

The old reason is because Andy Chambers and co. are faggots. FW has made it melt much more sense. The physical Iron Hands came first. Then the people of Medusa started calling him Ferrus Manus, meaning "Iron Handed One." It was not something Ferrus Manus chose himself. Then when he met with the Xth legion, he declared them to be an extension of himself, and so took the name of his most prominent feature.

Can it really be that fucking hard making space-marine like super soldiers for a super post-post human like a primarch? I mean, with our current human understanding, it's not inconceivable that we - mere mortals - will eventually be able to make super humans.
It's not like he would have to create primarchs. Space marines were essentially an after-thought/off-shoot from the primarch-project. Can't be THAT fucking hard turning a young man into a super human when you're a fucking primarch.

Remember its over the fields of Ullanor. Which was the massive triumph to celebrate the beating of the biggest Waaaaagh ever (at that point).

I can't remember but it was supposed to have like 10 million guard marching, like 6 or so whole astartes legions, imperator titans etc. all walking past.

Angron is quite literally having a transcendent rage-orgasm right there. He's literally gripping the railing and dry-humping it.

They're similar to a legion of house cats who will probably keep your house mouse free, but only if the mice interest them. It's like...I can't really hate on them too much before feeling bad unlike any of the other "we take shit too far" legions.

Yet at the same time, I feel like I could take any other legion, point it at a target, and reasonably expect that target dealt with/raised to the ground/executed/religiously converted/destroyed itself from within.

>>Even after magnus went rogue, Khan had a civil conversation with him and still showed magnus brotherly love.

really?
>>
>>43855865
Yes, really.

Spoilers for Scars by Chris Wraight. You don't want em? Fuck off.

Magnus and the Khan were apparently best friends. Magnus even had the Khan draft up most of the rules for the Librarius, because he knew a non-psyker(as much a primarch can be one, at any rate.) would be more objective about it, and the White Scars psykers are super cautious about how much they delve into the warp.

In the novel Scars, the White Scars have been cut off by warp storms for a while when the Heresy gets going, and they start getting conflicting messages. The first one they get is that Russ has gone traitor and wiped out the Thousand Sons, and they need to go join Horus for justice. The second they get is the ACTUAL message from Dorn on Terra about what really happened. The third is from Russ, saying that Horus went traitor and sicced the Alpha Legion on him, and he needs help. (They actually react with disbelief that Russ would ask anyone for help and have a chuckle about it.)

The Khan's first reaction is a knee-jerk "Fuck off, nobody tells my legion what to do." After he cools off a bit, he orders his fleet to Prospero to ask Magnus what went down. He talks to a psychic piece of Magnus that was left there when he did the mass portal. Magnus admits that he had it coming, and finally admits that the warp is pretty damn evil, not a neutral ocean.

After hearing what actually happened from his friend, the Khan then beats the piss out of Mortarion, who in true Mortarion style just kind of... shows up... and officially declares that he's staying loyal.
>>
>>43855796
My only really major problem with the Unremembered Empire is actually Vulkans part in it. It just feels out of character that he would go crazy. Of all the Primarchs, he would have been the only one not to go crazy after everything he went through. It just seems like a defeat of his character at it's core that wasn't really necessary or made much sense.

And then the entire White Scars legion just more or less disappears into obscurity.

Though personally, I'd actually have to say Mortarion. Not too much of a strong personality aside from hating bullies, and seemed a pretty patient dude in his youth and didn't whine like Angron did when the Emps stole his kill and stole him away. Didn't do anything particularly interesting with his legion until he was convinced by Horus that the Emperor was a bully, and even though he actually did stuff after the Heresy he didn't particularly stand out in the way that Angron did.

I still like him, I just wish BL didn't make such a big deal of OOHHHHH HE'S STILL OUT THERE, HUMANITY MIGHT HAVE A SMALL GLINT OF NOT BEING SO SHIT. THIS COULD REALLY CHANGE EVERYTHING.

I mean, I'm kinda hoping the bastard comes back, he seems like he'd be kind of a fun guy to have kicking around 40K and it'd maybe mean that the Salamanders get less shat upon in fluff. Though I guess Spess Mahreens are already cheesed enough, them being the posterboys of the franchise.

-Sincerely, your local Salamanders Player

I sort of know how you feel. Come on, BL! He was already sort of out there before you made him a Perpetual. You're just twisting older fluff a little to make it more or less confirmed.

Besides, Jaghatai, Russ, and Corax might also still be out there.

I actually really liked the idea of a Primarch that was looking out for the common man. I get that the Emperor was basically Space-Hitler-Jesus but a lot of people seem to forget about the fact that the Emperor was also Space Jesus. Vulkan seems to most embodied that ideal, and in general seemed like a pretty pious, down to earth guy.

I'm not sure if I'm some kind of faggot for doing this, but I usually establish game scenarios as my Salamander army trying to hold off whatever they're fighting from getting a crack at a Hive, or some other settlement. Sure they're doing it partially to PURGE CHAOS and PURGE XENO SCUM, but on some level they're also doing it because they actually give a rats ass about people.

I think a lot of people forget there is a softer and nicer side to 40k. Like you said, the Emperor can be amazingly cruel and stern, but he also has a caring side. Primarchs like Vulkan and Roboute thought about people and cared more than others about them in some ways.

And hey, it's not a faggoty thing to add a story to your games. I'm probably more of a faggot with my Dark Angels, since I go out of my way to avoid Fallen-hunting scenarios. I like to remind myself that there's more to them than that, they can also be marines doing their duty if not as outright benevolent as your Salamanders.

If they are, they can be considered traitor by now. They left the Emperor and mankind for selfish reasons.

Didn't Russ fuck off into the eye of terror to find a magical apple or some shit that would heal the Emperor?
If so could you really call him a traitor?
Never mind that he'd have a hell of a time getting Emps to eat it, no one ever claimed Russ thought any of his plans through.
