So It's basically my understanding that the Emperor ranked his sons about as follows. Correct me if I'm wrong.

1. Horus
2. Fulgrim
3. Dorn
4. Sanguinius
5. Guilliman
6. Johnson
7. Russ
8. Vulkan
9. Manus
10. Khan
11. Corax
12. Perturabo
13. Mortarion
14. Angron
15. Alpharius
16. Curze
17. Magnus
18. Lorgar
>>
>>43815951

Damn, being Lorgar must suck.
>>
>>43815951
>>43815992
Being Lorgar is suffering
>>
>>43815951
Would Fulgrim be that high?

>>43816008
They're not called the Emperor's Children for nothing.
>>
>>43816008
My reasoning was that his legion was the most favored after the Luna Wolves. They were called the Emperor's Children, for god's sake, and they were the only ones he let wear the Aquilla as their emblem.
>>
I feel like the top 5 is pretty solid, but Russ might be a little higher.
>>
>>43815992
he's technically not the worst, but being better than people who were so shit they got erased from history isn't much of an achievement
>>
>tfw my top two are among the bottom three
>>
>>43816098
I think Curze is pretty cool, too, but there's pretty much no denying that Emps hated the shit out of his edgy psychopathic son.
>>
>>43816119
...i-it's okay Konrad-senpai, I love you!
>>
>Bottom 7 are all traitors
Emps was pretty wise.
>>
>>43816301
More like his neglected sons all turned against him.
>>
>>43816321
Bullshit. These were 200 year old genetically engineered demigods, not teenage boys.
>>
Can't help but think Magnus was a lot higher on this list prior to the council of Nikea.
>>
>>43816337
Regardless, he treated a good fair half of them like shit, and it came around to bite him in the ass.

>>43816350
Probably. And Lorgar likely was at least still beating out Curze before Monarchia.
>>
>>43815951
0. Unknown Primarch
19.Unknown Primarch
>>
>>43816376
It's pretty hard to like a relentless murderer, a sadistic vigilante, a religious zealot, a smelly guy, a wizard, a democrat who decimated his legion for no apparent reason, when you consider them for your idealistic Empire.
>>
Wouldn't Sanguinius be above Dorn? Or was he only that favored once he sacrificed himself for the Emperor?
>>
>>43816382
You mean:
>19. Unknown Primarch
>20. Unknown Primarch

>>43816420
Hey, I'm not saying he was wrong for discriminating against them, but his favoritism fueled their inevitable betrayal, not the other way around.

Sanguinius would be second. Emperor fucking loved that guy. He's definitely the favorite after the Horus Heresy

>>43816501
I second this. Everyone loved Sanguinius. Hell, even Girlyman did.
>>
>>43816467
I think the Emperor favored Dorn. What with establishing him as Defender of Terra, and making the Fists his guard legion.

>>43816501
Everybody loved Sanguinius, but I think the Emperor had a few picks before him due to personal bias.

All this is before the Heresy, anyway, since it's too obvious during and after.
>>
>>43816501
Where are the wings?
>>
>>43816473
I know what I'm about son.
>>
>>43816546
Dorn was the good son who came to help daddy when he needed it. And you have a great point with the fists being the guardians of Holy Terra. What do you mean by personal bias?
>>
>>43816558
Look at the shoulder. That's not Sanguinius, that's a huge faggot.
>>
>>43816588
Just that he tended to favor the primarchs he discovered first (Horus), the ones that kissed his ass the most (Dorn), and the ones that he fought alongside in the Crusade (Fulgrim).
>>
>>43815951

>Tfw people use your screencap

FEELS GOOD

Also, Sanguinius is best yo
>>
>>43816606
Why is Dorn so beta?
>>
>>43816603

Yep. That's Fulgrim, alright. Even the world looks like it'd be his homeworld. Him admiring the beauty and shit. If the emblems weren't enough of a sign. But that ain't hawk boy.
>>
>>43816558
That's Fulgrim
>>
>>43816606
True. Sanguinius was more of a primarch's primarch. Seriously, which Primarch didn't like Sanguinius? Besides Horus of course.
>>
>>43816671
>Seriously, which Primarch didn't like Sanguinius?
Didn't either Pert or Morty hate fucking everyone?
>>
>>43816671
Even Horus loved Sangy. Figured that he would be chosen Warmaster over him.
>>
>>43816671
Angron, Curze, and Pert most likely. Curze's only friends were Morty, Fulgrim, and Horus and they thought he was creepy. Angron liked no one save Kharn and Lorgar. Pert probably felt some respect to Sang. Alpharius probably never met him to have an opinion on him.
>>
>>43816671

Oddly enough since he killed him and all, but he fucking loved Sanguinius. He even thought he should have been Warmaster since everybody liked him and he could've been a better peacekeeper between the legions. Even before Horus killed him Horus gave him a chance to join and basically begged him to betray the Emperor and join them since he didn't want to have to kill him.
>>
>>43816692
Both, IIRC. Curze too I think.
>>
>>43816640
He was what the primarchs were suppose to be. Great military leaders and unquestionably loyal.
>>
>>43816692
Yeah, that's true. Pretty sure Pert wipes his ass with sandpaper considering how pissed he always is.
>>
>>43816694
>Even Horus loved Sangy.
Horus and Sang were the closest of the Primarchs.
>>
>>43816640
He's what a marine is suppose to be. Compared to his more extraordinary brothers, he's pretty vanilla. That's what makes Dorn special. How plain he is.
>>
>>43816700
Was this from a heresy novel?
>>
>>43816752
It's been like that.
>>
>>43816778
Huh. I need to read up on this shit then, I'm slackin.
>>
>>43816792
Check the Angels of Death book.
>>
How would things have played out if bird boy was made warmaster?
>>
>>43816894
Corax probably would've emphasized guerrilla warfare and TACTICOOL OPERATIONS a lot more.
>>
>>43816803
Will do, thanks for the recommendation. Just ordered the Word Bearers omnibus actually.
>>
>>43816956
I meant the book you can find in the link provided in the 40k general thread or the Horus Heresy general.
>>
>>43816894
>>43816930

>Guerrilla Warfare
>Special Operations

Corax-fags actually think this is how you win wars of conquest.
>>
>>43816995
Yeah, I know what you're talking about.
>>
>>43816546
the emperor treated dorn well because he knew how reliable he was more so than he was the favourite, but yeah he was pretty high up there.
>>
>>43816710
Lion El'Jonson was unquestionably loyal same with Leman Russ and they both were never kiss asses to the emprah like Dorn was.
>>
>>43816606
I thought Emprah fought alongside Dorn the most than any other legion in the great crusade.
>>
>>43817619
>Johnson
>Loyal
Just twistin your titties anon

Russ had one of the most genetically corrupt chapters as well. Probably didn't lend him much favor, but his competency kept him from being hated for it.

>>43817632
IIRC, he discovered Fulgrim fairly early on, and fought a great deal alongside the "perfect" Third Legion. At one point Emps was wounded in battle and they guarded him with their bodies until he could be evacuated.
>>
>>43815951
What a terrible father.
>>
>>43817663
>At one point Emps was wounded in battle

how the fuck does that even happen

he punched a c'tan from one planet to another
>>
>>43817663
Haha I know, as a Dark Angels fan I'm ashamed more about Dark Angels fans than I am about the fallen, and how newfag/autism some of them can be. Literally 99% of DAfags fall for b8 posts saying Lion was traitor and it makes me sad.
>>
>>43817696
Happened a few times over the course of the Crusades. Probably just statistics at work. One instance involved him literally fistfighting an Ork Warboss.
>>
>>43817704
I like dark angels mainly because I'm a sucker for tragedy, bereft of emotion irl and a loner who lives in the woods secluded, my dogs and their collars are the colours of the deathwing and ravenwing (black and white dogs both with green collars), and I'm british and native canadian! So it all goes together lmao.
>>
>>43817663
Yeah Russ and Sang had the same problem there except Sang was less brash. I don't think the emperor cares about less pure and stable geneseed however as some traitor legions have very stable geneseeds and the emperor sure as fuck doesnt value them over unstable geneseed loyalist chapters. The emperor values morality and effectiveness over birthright and he proves that with how he treated Sang theres no fucking way he didnt know Sang wasnt a mutant lmao.
>>
>>43817801
Sanguinius was obviously a mutant, but it's possible that Emps didn't know about the Flaw. Sanguinius kept sweating about him discovering it, and then becoming the third Forgotten Legion.

Way harder to keep the Wulfen under wraps.
>>
>>43817842
True and sang would lie to the emps face about his legion being fine, but the emperor must have known that sang himself was a mutant is what I meant and the emperor didn't really seem to care about it.
>>
>>43817696
He rolled ones on his armor and fnp rolls. Simple statistics says it was bound to happen.
>>
I weould say something like that. Horus was first, and Sanguinius and Fulgrim shared the #2 spot.
Probably more primarchs shared one spot rather than being in fromt of eachother.
Magnus was pretty high, tho, until he broke Terra, that is.
Lorgar and Angron took the shitty end of a scale, with Curze and Mortarion being close.
>>
>>43819932
This
>>
>>43816606
You got Dorn and Fulgrim the wrong way round
>>
>>43822950
nope
>>
>>43816031
Got moar ???
>>
>>43816008
Why wouldn't Fulgrim be high?
>>
>>43815951

Sanguinius should be higher than Dorn.

Angron should be lower, like 16th place.

The middle seems murky and is anyone's guess.
>>
>>43816546
>>43816588
I'd say Sangy was higher in favor, with Dorn being the practical call for the job. If I need to defend Terra, I know I'd call in a siege Legion.

And since Emps was a huge faggot to Perty, that leaves Dorn.
>>
>>43815951
Wouldn't Emps probably rank Sanguinius 2nd though maybe even first if we look at sheer favoritism and not just ranking who the Emps thought was best for being a Warmaster?
>>
Ferrus should be switched with Guiliman.
It is said he spend time on holy terra, furthermore he is the one son who followed the ideal of the loyal, tireless soldier the most.
>>
>>43815951
>the Emperor ranked his sons

[citation needed]
>>
>>43817005

Except for the fact that many wars are won on the backbones of such operations.
>>
>>43831763

He ranked Horus 1st, if you need a citation for that you don't deserve to be posting about 40k at all.

Whether the rest were ranked, who knows.
>>
>>43831822
Then why are RG so shit?
>>
>>43815951

1. Horus
2. Sanguinius
3. Fulgrim
4. Dorn
5. Guilliman
6. El'Jonson
7. Ferrus
8. Russ
9. Vulkan
10. Corax
11. Khan
12. Magnus
13. Mortarion
14. Perturabo
15. Alpharius
16. Curze
17. Angron
18. Lorgar

This list is more accurate, I think. I don't think Magnus was particularly disliked until he fucked up the Human Webway. Angron should not be more favored than Alpharius. If anything, the Emperor probably appreciated Alpharius purely because he didn't really do much. The Emperor probably felt fairly neutral towards him.
>>
>>43831935

Dunno. Why is your opinion such shit?

>>
>>43831981
Pert should be below Memepharius, possibly below Batman as well.
>>
>>43831935

Because Corax was a little SJW "muh oppression" bitch and exiled all the people that could get shit done.

And that's why we have Space Sharks.
>>
>>43817696

The farther away from Terra he was, the weaker he got since he had to power the entire Astronomicon remotely with his mind.
>>
>>43817005
It can be use small amount if marines to move enemy forces out of position / destroy key defensive infrastructure ( orbital defense laser arrays etc).

While the enemy chase after the raven wing operatives, imperial army rocks in to now defence less planet and occupies centers of control; with the remaining raven guard forces acting as the initial shock troops to create landing zones for the first wave of imperial army.
