Played a gnoll once. He got ditched in a forest by his kin who were migrating and hadn't seen another gnoll since then. Grew up with druids and has no idea about what gnolls are really built for. Met up with a tierfling ranger and became best friends. They wandered into a town one day looking for adventure and met up with the rest of the party in a guildhall that was hiring new scouts.
I essentially became the party mascot: big, fuzzy, clueless when it came to cities, but capable of tearing enemies apart at a moment's notice.

My campaign is very fluffy.
Current party consists of two winged humanoids, one aasimar with fluffy white wings, one tiefling with fluffy black wings.
Previous characters included a kitsune and a gryphon knight. And the setting's currency is literally feathers; the players have in fact dived into vaults of feathers and the monk has an entire bag of holding full of them that she occasionally swims in.

I played a Werewolf Barbarian once. He had been a lycan since near birth, but was disciplined properly by his adoptive Druid father to remove the Chaotic Evil tendencies. He had no attachment to his humanoid form so he basically stayed in Hybrid form unless it proved to be a problem.
He was the wisest, most calm member of the party and most hesitant to get in a fight. When he did though, instincts tended to rise up and that's where the "rage" comes in.

My werewolf actually had some similar situations, though it never got into ERP territory. Female knight was obsessed with fighting him to prove "monsters will never triumph blah blah blah", but after refusing to fight her for the longest time he saved her once and it was tsundere stuff from then on. Another PC's Drow teenage twin daughters were obsessed with his soft fur, and liked to cuddle and play with him, though it approached flirting territory many times. Finally, a redeemed Succubus just about fell in love with him since he's another "monster" trying to fit in with society.
Funny how the 8 CHA werewolf seemed to have better luck with women than every other of my characters, who tend to be high CHA social people.

It was definitely fun, the DM mostly pulled it for humor and probably directed it at me since I was the least likely to latch onto a romantic subplot. The Drow Bard (the father mentioned earlier) was the biggest manslut though, so the group thought it was funny he could get every unimportant NPC in bed, but some of the major ones went for the low CHA monster instead.
Wasn't exactly what I had in mind when I made the character, but I suppose he would've gone for the succubus, considering she was the trying to deal with a terrible addiction kind and latching onto someone emotionally kind of girl, and not the "I'm gonna jump your bones but I'm good not evil" type of succubus. We'll never know though, campaign ended before anything got really developed.

It's because high CHA pretty boys are boring.
People want something they can't have in real life, something daring and exciting. For this reason, big scary monsters that are actually fluffy and adorable around characters they care for are often targets for filthy forbidden interspecies sex.

For what it's worth, I think you should do it. It's hard to find a DM that is actually against romantic subplots, and they're often great ways to have fun, introduce useful NPCs, and flesh out your character.
I've yet to use him but I've got a wolf character that's a mix of Great Gray Wolf Sif and Amaterasu.
Basically made a Character sheet for a greater wolf that had been enchanced by magical tampering, while using a Animal Companion sheet as a model.
Has rather dumb levels of human intelligence, so you need to speak slow and use small words to make him understand, but understands English none the less, unless talking to someone with Animal Speak, knows "wolf" which is basically a Canine's method of speaking using yips, howls, growls, ear flicks, tail wags and and all that other shit. Carries around a broken bastard sword that he is only able to use because parts of his body have been modified with extensive magic, including his mouth which is pretty much straight metal kind of like how some SWAT and military hounds have titanium teeth, only his entire skull, spine and shoulder blades are made of metal with the rest of his skeleton is dense bone.
I traded the bonus Constitution and enhance skeleton for a hit to Dexterity with additional points taken off to certain dex rolls, like dodging, unless they'd naturally be augmented with strength since he has 4 legs not 2, as well as hits to Charisma, Intelligence. And obviously since he doesn't have opposable thumbs, he needs help with a lot of things.
But my DM seems to be cool with it, if not interested since I want to see if I can get him into a Sorcerer multi class so he'd be able to manipulate objects to a very minor degree, like so he'd be able to put on his own armor or pull things out of a bag of holding, or are within very short range, slowly.

I the fluffiest thing I have ever played was a human wizard who picked up weeby kemonomimi traits from the beastpox after spending an extended amount of time in the Beastlands. That was real fun to roleplay -- he was really embarrassed when he got back to the prime material and did whatever he could to hide it, but he secretly thought it was actually kind of cool.
Nothing really, though if I ever get the chance to play something like Mouse Guard, I would maybe make a Chinchilla preacher-man, give out life advice and hugs.
I played a hengeyokai fox type from DnD 4E. Pretty fun fencing rogue, supposed to be the typical dashing scoundrel with a heart of gold.But the campaign died like everything good.
Need a monster hunter? I'm an expert! I get hired for monster hunts like all the time. Those humans would be hopeless without me.
