Stalk the Prey. The marines of this force fight like hunters, waiting for just the right time to strike and kill their enemy. This way of combat gives them much patience and cunning.

Corrupted by Warp Exposure
Loath Chaos
Beliefs- No Laws or Codes
Demeanor- Stalk the Prey
Champion- First Chaos Chapter Master, who turned very many planets against the Imperium
Homeworld- Desert Space Hulk
Combat Doctrine- Rip & Tear (cqc)
Special Equipment- Preferred Fighting Style (probably some sort of martial art)
Strength- Slightly Understrength and spread thinly
Allies- Dark Mechanicus/Traitor Titan Legion
Enemies- IG/PDF regiment
>>
>>43809672
>>43809740
waiiiiit~ I just realized that we could do that.

Chapter Name: Vanguard of Steel (VoS/ VoS Marines)
Gene-Origins: White Scars
Founding: 35th Millennium
Reason of Founding: Predictions of Threat, left to await the threat
Gene purity: Flawed
Demeanor: “No Mercy, No Respite”
Chapter Flaw: “We stand alone”
Figure of Legend: Chief Librarian
Deed of Legend: ‘The figure is remembered as the bane of the Orks, to such an extent that his name is known to the vile greenskins even to this day.’
Homeworld: Medieval World
Homeworld Terrain: Temperate
Rule of Homeworld: Stewardship
Chapter Organisation: Unique
Combat Doctrine: Siege [up for change]
Specialty Restrictions: Apothecaries
Chapter Beliefs: “Honor the Ancestors”
Chapter Strength: Endangered -Forces consist of only five (5) battle ready companies and a scout company
Close Allies: Ecclesiarchy

Chapter Master: Jian "the Thunderer" -destroyed a wraithlord with his powerfists and honorguard

quick lore:
Chased after every threat thinking it's the predicted threat, including a craftworld. Fucked up their numbers, got fucked even more when Chaos came rolling by. Apothecaries too busy/important trying to make marines to be deployed on the field
>>
>>43809776
I think a way to make the opposed concepts of being twisted and warped by Chaos but loathing it is that they were prey to a lot of fatal or degenerative mutation - what mutations they got were shitty, killing them, and not helping them become better warriors, AND caused The Imperium to cast them out. Hence their hatred and suspicion of the power of the warp.

Just spitballin'.
>>
>>43809816
oops forgot to explain that to emulate the Endangered I made it so that the VoS consist of 5 battle companies and a scout company.

incase anyone gets confused with the "Chapter Strength roll"
>>
>>43809834
I like to think that they have a distaste for the Imperium's soul-crushing authoritarianism.
>>

Hulk with Craftworld or just one banged up Craftworld that looks like a Hulk?
>>
>>43810112
A abandoned desolate Craftworld which was a desert biome when it was still inhabited after an incursion by Nurgle forces it was filled with Toxins and the people died out one by one to Nurgles gifts and now it is a floating toxic desert space hulk
>>
>>43810215
Yes.
>>
>>43810215
cools, Training could consist with hunting down Nurglings and other daemons, though they can never wipe them out, in a funny cycle they can't break.
>>
>>43810215
I'm okay with this.
>>
>>43809776
>Allies- Dark Mechanicus/Traitor Titan Legion
So which of these should it be? Does our craftworld have a Titan bay?

>Enemies- IG/PDF regiment
Can it be Minervans? I'd like it to be Minervans.
>>
>>43810410
Would make sense every Craftworld has a planetside docking bay so plenty of space for titans in it maybe that could be part of our deal with them they get safe haven in our craftworld/spacehulk thingy and free access to all the tech left over from the previous Eldar inhabitants and in return they assist us when we need them
>>
>>43810453
Well, this chaos warband did "liberate" a few sectors and systems, so perhaps we can have some sort of safe haven due to that. And in turn we help to defend them against the imperium, and that has casued our numbers to be spread thin
>>
>>43810481
I think that the Craftworld/Space Hulk would make more sense as the safe haven seeing as it can move and therefore run away from danger unlike planets and since craftworlds are
literally planets inside spaceships there is plenty of Space and salvage left over for both our Warband and the Dark Mechanicus
>>
>>43810548
Ok, I'm ok with that. But can we still go with that thier are defending thier newly "liberated" planets and thus making thier lines very thin on the homefront?
>>
>>43810564
Yea that would explain why they are spread so thin in the first place which is good also would give us a reason why we might need those titans in the first place
>>
>>43809428
>>43809429
Makes sense, pursuing many objectives and leads and gathering a lot of info is prudent for cautious hunters, especially if they're allied with neither Imperium nor Chaos. Or maybe it's just to get away from home, a toxic space hulk isn't exactly the place to be.
>>
Alright to summarize again

Renegade Chapter (White Scars descent)
Corrupted by Warp Exposure
Loath Chaos
Beliefs- No Laws or Codes
Demeanor- Stalk the Prey
Champion- First Chaos Chapter Master, who turned very many planets against the Imperium
Homeworld- Desert Biome Toxic Craftworld/spacehulk
Combat Doctrine- Rip & Tear (cqc)
Special Equipment- Preferred Fighting Style (probably some sort of martial art)
Strength- Slightly Understrength and spread thinly because defending liberated planets
Allies- Dark Mechanicus/Traitor Titan Legion they are housed inside the Craftworld where they can freely work and store their titans safely until they are needed to assist the Warband
Enemies- IG/PDF regiment

Defense just doesn't sound like a bunch of White Scars who hate being tied down and whose favourite m.o. is scouting the enemy before striking their weakness. Perhaps they're out, divided in tribal-like groups, conquering planets still, to create as large a front as possible where the IG/PDF enemies are forced to divide their forces, thus creating opportunities for our CMuhreens to identify weak points in logistics and leadership, or perhaps even strong points which can then be more mass-attacked later as the IG won't have as many soldiers around their most competent leaders?

tl;dr divide and conquer through forcing the enemy to besiege a multitude of planets and cutting off supplies and reinforcements until opportunities to take out important targets present themselves. The opposite of nature's predator-and-prey behavior, where the prey are strengthened as the predators isolate and strike the weakest of the herd. These Marines could do the opposite, divide the herd as much as possible and strike at the strongest in order to deplete the group's strength, morale and cohesion over time.

That way they don't have to gather all their smaller tribes for each time they want to bring the hammer down: the smaller tribes rarely let up or gather, while Titans and the Chapter leadership drift around looking for advantageous opportunities to deploy and strike.
