What do Callidus assassins actually look like under the suit?

Can the suit morph with them? otherwise, wouldn't it be easier if they wore generic clothes?

Do they have any sort of normal life between missions and that's why they're masked?
>>
>>43788411
>Normal Life
>Any Imperium unit

Boy, you crazy. If it was Eldar, a case could be made, but the Imperium just isn't the type to allow their special operatives downtime.
>>
>>43788411
>dem thighs

HNNNNNG
>>
>>43788434

As I said, I'm only asking because of the full body suit concealing their identity. why wear one if you're literally nobody?
>>
>>43788411
Their bodysuit can morph with them to an extent it isn't literally absorbed into their body (IIRC), but it changes shape to match who/whatever they're impersonating. Obviously if this is something significantly nonhuman they'll have to remove and stash their gear somewhere.

None of the Temple Assassins have normal lives. They live (or in the case of Eversors, are kept in stasis) within their training grounds when not being deployed, honing their skills for the moment they're given a mission.

scarred up dudes and dudettes, likely

probably, but they also wear disguises/plainclothes to assist with their infiltration (some being semi/permanent grafts)

no, even if the Callidus would be capable of maintaining some kind of civilian lifestyle, Imperial Assassins are all psychopaths

>mask
>>
>>43788411
synskin is sprayed on the body but i think they very often have also armor and padding so they pretty much look like that. they need extra clothing in addition to polymorphine to fully transform into someone else
>>
Are they all super ripped bodybuilder models or is that just a polymorphine alteration too?
>>
>>43788504
in the grim darkness of the far future anabolic hormones are probably perfected
>>
>>43788453
>dat ass
>dem thighs
>dem abs
>also hips and calves
>>
>>43788493
Callidus could fake being human, and Vindicares could be as normal as a modern sniper. So, kinda weird and twitchy but able to get over it.
>>
>>43788556
they could

but they don't, unless on a mission
>>
>>43788504
They were born with a number instead of a name and put through a training regime on par with the Astartes. They were likely monitored by a cadre of Magos Biologis on every step of the process - I'd say it's a safe bet that they are at peak physical condition.
>>
>>43788580
once they've mastered polymorphine all bets are off, however

remember that some of those sexy gymnasts were originally dudes on the level of the hulkmasters we see present in the other assassin temples
>>
>>43788609
If it's biologically female down the the internal organs, then...

Even worst Callidus would look better than sanest Culexus
>>
>>43788609
most callidus assassins are female because the assassinorum found out they are better at stealth
>>
>>43788609

So the answer to >>43788504 would be 'they looked like super-ripped gymnasts before the polymorphine'

Maybe they retain a 'baseline' look they can (have to?) easily revert to?

Can they take the bodysuits off or are they bound forever?
>>
>>43788715
See above, it's sprayed on.
>>
>>43788715
the body suit is sprayed on them like i said above
>>
>>43788714
that doesn't really change the fact that some of them are dudes
>>
>>43788714
I think the official answer is that polymorphine works better with a female genom.

The real answer is "sexy ninja chicks in tight bodysuits"
>>
>>43788580
... but why male models?

>>
>>43788881
If you're guardsman who can wield bolter without braking his arms then you deserve some xeno's ass
>>
>>43788891
Contrary to common belief, Bolters have very little recoil. The only force on the bolter itself is just to get the bullet out of the chamber. At that point the bullet itself, which has a miniature self propulsion system, does all the work.

Hense, how those massive things are fully automatic and are still rather accurate.
>>
>>43788768
polymorphine is something of a rare substance, and sending an extremely important assassin to not assassinate someone is an enormous waste of resources

although not heresy, using the high lords to get your booty call would probably result in a serious, likely fatal reprimand
>>
>What do Callidus assassins actually look like under the suit?
Hot as fuck, and they can morph to suit any desire
>>
>>43788915
then why there are no bolter equiped regular guard squads while there are plasma (considered more advanced and rare)? Also wasn't recoil stated as reason Sisters are using power armour?
>>
>>43788891
To add on to >>43788915, there are very many Guard-pattern bolters - fit for the average man to use. Astartes bolters can't be used by humans; in some sources, they have genetic lock, like Dredd's Lawgiver. In most, they're just too fucking big.
>>
>>43788943
sisters use power armor and bolters because the ecclesiarchy can afford to pimp them out

guardsmen use lasguns because it's more efficient, logistically
>>
>>43788881
Who made this?
>>
>>43788889
No. His mother was a human that was banged by an Eldar merc.
>>
>>43788768
>>43788925

Remember the Callidus in that one 40K novel who turned into a genestealer and worried about whether her poop looked like human poop?
>>
>>43788859
Are Callidus Assassins infertile?

Are Assassins in general infertile?
>>
>>43789338
Not sure about male ones, but in general, even ignoring combat drugs and genetweaks and shit, isn't being at the level of physical fitness and muscle tone that your average Assassin is at make it difficult for women to get/bring to term a pregnancy? The testosterone and body fat levels being all wrong, and shit?
>>
>>43789338
Due to the sheer amount of combat drugs, invasive surgeries and high stress training that that all experience, most probably.
>>
>>43788411
I wonder if their paragraph of fluff will answer the question about their morphing and their suit... hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
>>
>>43788411
Just know, those breasts are that large by CHOICE. She could morph smaller ones, or none at all if she wanted.
>>
>>43789402
its distracting to the enemy
>>
>>43789338

You couldn't impregnate one if you tried. The bodysuit is permanently attached, remember?
>>
>>43789360
Nah. Even with these ABS it's not impossible for a woman to get pregnant and have the child in her womb develop normally.

Drugs and other stuff assassins are exposed to however may result in this but I don't remember anything saying that Imperial Temple Assassins are infertile. I may say it's highly probable, but we need more info on that.

>>43789366
Most probably, but I wouldn't say it's 100%.

>>43789423
Goddammit, how do they answer nature's call when they need to use the toilet?
>>
>>43788464
The bodysuit serves as a "bottomless" bag of sorts where they can store their weapons.
Otherwise I'm guessing its just for protection since other clades use similar styled suits.
>>
>>43788580
Your reply is good and makes sense, but the fact that you even made it makes me sad. How are people this stupid? Even when I started this hobby when I was 10, 23 years ago, I wasn't this stupid.

>Dur, are assassins fit?

WTF
>>
>>43789433
>Goddammit, how do they answer nature's call when they need to use the toilet?

The suit probably reprocesses body waste, like a Stillsuit. This isn't that far from real world technology in spacesuits.
>>
>>43789479
That's actually clever.

But what about the more physical one? I don't see any Astartes Power Armor Waste Processor that would turn waste into taste-less nutrient paste.
>>
>>43788627
Internal organs change too with polymorphine.
>>
>>43789479
>>43789506

Me'lindi pooped when in genestealer form. Dunno what that means, but there it is.
>>
>>43789531
Temple Assassins.

They are deadly, yet odd.

On the other hand that means that maybe one can actually bang a Callidus Assassin...in the ass.
>>
>>43789423
Not the case, written twice in this thread already.
>>
In the old fluff some assassins were recruited from a pool of normal people. Is that not true anymore? It makes more sense if they pick the most suitable people rather than just raise them and hope they work out.
>>
>>43788641
Wasn't the Culexis in Nemesis supposed to be a qt? I mean, they used her as a prostitute to get her close to that Psyker warlord on Terra, she's gotta be able to put out, no?
Which Clade do you think would be the best fuck, /tg/? Callidus seems like the obvious choice, but Evesor and Venenum seem like the could be fun. Vanus and Vindicare would be the worst by far.
>>
>>43789588
Nah. I think it's still canon that they take in orphans with talent and train them to superhuman levels.
>>
>>43789625
Which are Vanus and Venenum again? I only remember the old 4 with models; Culexus, Callidus, Eversor, and Vindicare.
>>
>>43789644
Vanus are infocytes who do the Handler/matrix-esque Operator stuff, and Venenum are the toxin specialists.
There's also one that just does mad bombing shit but I think they're just Imperial Agents as opposed to a particular Officio Assassinorum Clade.
>>
>>43789669
Ah, okay, thanks.

Venenum seem a bit redundant, given that it seems to overlap a fair bit with the Callidus and Vindicare. Seems more like it would be special order of the Magos Biologos or something; you know, devoted to making nasty toxins and shit.

>>
>>43790105
>Eversors are kinda one-use.
Let me tell you about heresy. Here at Heretic Corp, we have discovered a way to create Eversors that reconstitute after detonation! They can even blow themselves up again, for even more utility!
>>
>>43790105

So who would you date? Eversor, Culexus, vindicare or Callidus?
>>
>>43789962
I was also going to say that the Imperium is a scary, alien place to our sensibilities in some part. Some parts of it (or at least some degenerate Nobles) might prefer a manly or androgynous Culexus that was a woman. Although, to them I guess it wouldn't be degenerate, would it? It would just be a "strong, healthy woman".

Or it could be totally degenerate in the sense we understand /d/ to their native society and especially other imperials.

But come on, there HAS to be a significant minority at least of Imperials who have a thing for strong, forceful women. There are inquisitors, and sisters of battle, and probably some amount of officials and priestesses who are women. Many Imperial societies also value strength and vigor, and look at the men they turn out. Either the women are also hyper exaggerated in their femininity, or they are also built like trucks, albeit smaller, sleeker trucks than the men. The better to produce suns and daughters that are Jacked, for the Emperor.

These are guys that can spend literally weeks hanging upside by their legs from a hive tower waiting for their mark to pass by. They're more than just psychotic killers, they're stone cold death robots.

I feel like they'd be immensely impersonal, beyond even the Culexus.

Is it heresy to get frisky with a xenos-form on-leave Callidus?

Like, say she just got back from a Tau infiltration mission and is still all blueberried up because she's got another Tau mission again in a few weeks so no real point to have to change back. She is of course a Callidus assassin, but for all physical purposes she is a xenos.
>>
>>43790286
You asked that before Guardsman.
>>
>>43789694
>redundant
not at all imagine infiltrating enemy court and poisoning them one by one. You could kill them that's for sure but it'd be more effective to weaken their will, undermine their position etc. Also I doubt Venenum make their poisons themselves, just like vindicare doesn't produce his bullets or rifle. Think of them rather as pharmacists who have to choose perfect mix of toxin to achieve desired effect.
>How much not to kill them?
>How long will effects last?

Not all assasin clades are combat suited. I alwas imagined venenum as mix of Wormtounge and Poison Ivy looking like those reneisance doctors with beak masks.

>>
>>43790368

What about a callidus in the form of the Emperor?

The female Emperor, that is.
>>
I've sort of considered a story where a couple of young people on some planet get drafted to become assassins due to genetic compatibility and get horribly dehumanized by their training but it'd be way too against canon I think.
>>
>>43790522
Eeeeh, the only temple that recruits on gene-compatibility is Culexus, but they vat-grow the vast majority of their recruits, pariah gene being one in litteral billion I think.

However, there is a story about the first Cadre of Assasins ever created, with 2 siblings being assasins. Brother being Vindicare and the sister being Callidus. So it's not completely impossible to have 2 people being recruited at the same time from the same group.
>>
>>43790574

The founders of the temples were four people literally named Culexus, Callidus, Vindicare and Eversor. I think Callidus was the sister of one of the others. Everyone in their temples to this day emulate their appearance.
>>
Here we go.
>she was old for an Evesor
>in a Clan whose members prided themselves on self-immolation in their teens, a 20 year old was positively ancient
>old enough to develop past the unceasing lust for murder and servitude
>old enough to think

>it took you a few seconds to realise you were alive, at first. When the Inquisitor had sent you down to check on a "coolant irregularity," you'd come to terms with your death. When you saw the words "Officio Assassinorum" on the cargo manifest, it hadn't taken long to theorise exactly what was down there.
>no point in hurrying, then. You'd learnt long ago that death was more than happy to be patient, and another Lho before your meeting with the Throne wouldn't hurt. You ended up smoking the rest of the packet.
>Dead men don't need the stuff
>you'd barely taken a step beyond the doubly locked bulkhead before you'd been tackled, head cracking against the metal of the floor. You'd heard enough wet crunches of shattering bone to know nothing vital had been broken, but it took a few seconds for the roaring figure above you to come into focus
>the punch snapped your nose like a twig, and by the sheer speed of the punch there was no doubt that had the blow carried through it would have pressed your face through the rear of your skull
>"MISSION DATE. INPUT MISSION DATE." screamed the Evesor, spittle flying hot and free against your face
>the concussion of your head hitting the deck a second time prolonged your confusion, and all you could seem to focus on was the nude form straddling your chest
>it was a mass off muscle and scar tissue, with tubes and cybernetics covering the expanse of its chest - "her chest," you quickly realised, glancing down momentarily - but the thing that surprised you was the heat

>"What do you mean "she's your responsibility?" you asked, aghast at the idea. The Techpriest had taken a look at the pod and declared it unfit for field repair, and seeing as there was still another week of projected Warp Travel it was to be a while before a full refit could be madE
>"precisely that, Interrogator" waved your boss, head buried in a Dataslate while he toyed with his Rosette." He looked up at you with a wry smile about his features. "Besides, knowing your success rate you could use some female company."
>it took a great deal of self control not to splatter yourself with your stub as the Inquisitor high-fived his Sanctioned Psyker, and instead you flew out of your chair and into the hall
>she was waiting there, as she'd been ordered. Apparently she was very good at that, which was surprising given what you'd heard of Evesor. You'd imagined she would have slaughtered her way through the crew by now, but all she seemed to have done was stare holes in the bulkhead across from her
>"DIRECTIVE?" she screamed, baring her teeth. She didn't seem to have an inside voice, and how she still had vocal chords was beyond you.
>"food." you said, beckoning her to follow you to the mess
>the galley was thankfully empty, and you sat her down at one of the long tables before going to get a couple trays of nutrient slurry, making sure there were no sharp objects around to pique her interest
>she was surprisingly amicable. Once you'd given her a mission update and displayed your credentials, she'd let you stand. There was no apology or even remorse, but that was almost to be expected. Could she formulate the concepts of those things? She was almost childish in her aspect in that way - only the emotion was used, the constructs beyond that lying unbuilt

>returning with the food, it seemed her table manners were as developed as her tackle etiquette. She shovelled down food with her hands, tearing skin with jagged, sharpened teeth. She ate with the ferocity of a starving animal, and you realised that, in a way, she was. How long had she been in cryosleep? A year? A month? Eating like this had most likely been drilled into her, to devour before moving on - or was it an instinctive reaction? From what you'd heard, they were a weapon of terror, a thunderbolt like the Emperor's Angels - not an operative to live off the land.
>"YOU... NOT EAT?" she growled, pointing at your tray. You'd been so deep in thought that you'd not touched your gruel. You pushed it towards her with a small smile, making sure not to show teeth. She struggled to return the gesture, scarred face twisting into a lopsided rictus of a grin. Was that reflexive, too?
>"do you have a name?" you asked, half wanting to know what to call her and half wanting to break up the snarling slurping of her rapid consumption
>she almost looked stunned, head snapping up from her blood-streaked hands.
>"DESIGNATION IS..." she faltered, suddenly aware of the volume of her voice in the echo-laden acoustics of the galley. "Designation is Karesh." she said, before cocking her head in an effort to remember. "I am Karesh." she said, a ghost of something resembling pride crossing her features.
>to say you were shocked was an understatement. You'd barely expected a response, let alone an attempt at speech.
>"you speak?" you asked, incredulous. The inflection was a little hammy, but you didn't want to lose the spark of humanity you saw in those eyes. You'd not noticed her eyes before - they were a brilliant turquoise, a pair of sparkling oaises set against a battlefield
>the praise didn't go unnoticed, and she puffed up a little in pride
>"Karesh is smart. Karesh listens in pod." she says, the childish pride in her voice tempered by her crushing the metal tray like paper.

Good Christ no. Just stop and think for a bit about the characters motivations and situation.

Actually the wearer of the suit doesn't really stansform in physical sense, they just have their soul become part of the Phoenix Lord's spirit pool and their body highjacked by the PL (a Phoenix Lord, like all Exarchs, is essentially a hivemind of souls sealed in their armour, except in the case of the PL the original soul so so powerful it maintains complete control of the collective, retaining the original PL's personality even if somebody dons the suit). This may or may not cause the body of the wearer to fuse with the suit or even disappear completely (it's one of those things that depend on the writer).
>>
>>43791377

Yes, spiritually there's probably a few male exarch spirits in there wagging their ethereal dicks around.

>Urhua Thereaux, Assassin of the Venenum Temple, is dispatched to assassinate the renegade Governor Yawell of Morisha. During transit, the starship is caught in a Warp rift, holding the vessel in temporal stasis for some six hundred and ninety-eight years. Not knowing that this has occurred, Thereaux proceeds to her target, only to find Yawell long since dead and replaced by an anti-Imperial democratic committee consisting of over a thousand members. Faced with such an extreme task, Thereaux only succeeds in killing the committee members after spending three days poisoning all the chairs in the council’s auditorium prior to a meeting of the full committee.

She did in the Night Lords book. The codex fluff for Asurmen also kind of implies that there is somebody inside the suit, too, as it mentions the wearer of the suit becoming a vessel for the PL's will (implying there is a body still in there, but ti becomes a meat-pupped for the soul of the PL bound in the suit). I believe one of the older codices also mentions when talking about Asurmen that regardless of who is wearing the suit, his personality remains the same (due to the aformentioned PL soul taking over the weaer thing), which also implies that somebody is wearing the suit rather than it being empty and moving on its own.
>>
>>43791577
Fuck Draco.

He went looking for time-travel because he wanted to use it for the good of the Imperium, and then he wastes it trying to bring his dead girlfriend back to life.

To elaborate on how he does this for you all, he takes a woman who looked exactly like her, trains her to act like his dead lover, (rapes her), and then drags her through the Webway and her mind is erased and replaced by his dead girlfriend's. After all of that mess, the Space Marine basically turns to the Squat and says "what a bullshit heretical waste of time, want to go find a battle to die with honor in?" and then they go do that.

>>43791302
>Jain Zar is a bodymorphing waifu too
Get your disgusting fetishes out of my 40K. There's nothing about the Phoenix Lords that says they actually body-morph the wearer of the suit, and that the collective will of all the soulstones embedded in the armor override the mind of the one who puts it on.

>>43788915
>The only force on the bolter itself is just to get the bullet out of the chamber.
Incorrect.

The muzzle velocity of a Bolter Round, before the rocket motor engages, is powerful enough to deliver the round with lethal force through most armor systems. This would inevitably mean that the recoil of a Bolter is quite considerable, otherwise the Bolter would be useless at short ranges, as a consequences of the rocket motor needing time to bring it up to lethal velocities.
>tl;dr
>a Bolt round if a 2-stage rocket, and the first stage is just as powerful as the 2nd.

New Asurmen book had him vacuuming a lady's soul into him with no process of suits being donned. Bitch wasn't even an Avenger, just a Guardian.
>>
>>43791839

In the old fluff an exarch would undertake a perilous quest to retrieve the phoenix lord's armor from where the previous wearer had fallen, don it and if he or she was worthy they would be overtaken by the spirit of the original lord and everyone else who had worn the suit, which would unlock its power. I can't recall any mention of the suits eroding the body inside in 3rd edition where that fluff was addded, but maybe it came along in 4th or later.

IDK about the codices, but in the books it's never explicitly mentioned as having considerable recoil. >Space Marines never feel the recoil when firing it, and humans comment that it looks like it would tear off their arms with recoil, if they could even lift it. But I don't remember any proof of that.
That only really applies to Space Marine Bolters.

This was argued over many times on the FFG forums, and as long you don't ascribe to poster Lynata's bullshit about how "everything is valid, nothing is valid, 40K fluff is just like a buffet!", then it makes perfect sense. You see, she doesn't know fuck all about ballistics and has a hair up her ass about how Sororitas bolters and power armor don't have exactly the same stats as the Astartes versions. And a larger and more robust weapon, such as what you'd be able to give to an Astartes, would be able to fire a round with a higher propellent charge (as well as a being able to chamber a -longer- round).

But humans are perfectly capable of using Bolters, since they were originally made to be used by them (granted, with power armor). They are just scaled down from the ones that Space Marines are famous for (though more accurately, the Space Marines have bolters that have been scaled up).

If you think logically about it, most humans, despite living in the hard world of Warhammer 40K, are probably in pretty good shape, since Dark Age of Technology space colonists would likely have received genetic enhancements akin to what the Mass Effect codex talks about being standard treatment for all colonists and military personnel. And given enough time, these enhancements would possibly become a hereditary part of the human genome.

Wondering how they deal with a situation when a Callidus kills a Callidus that is disguised as her target...

She's a christmas cake even by Eldar standards.

And I like christmas cakes.

They have moments of lucidity. You can even pump the drugs out of their system to get them somewhat human.

The novel of the board game was pretty neat, if only just to see that.

By board game you mean Assassinorum Execution Force?

There should still be a decent pdf online. I wasn't going to pay money on a throwaway tie-in novel.

I ate mac and cheese and other choice poor student foods in order to fit the box into my budget

Goddammit anon...I can't have a boner at this point. Not until after New Year.

There was a short story that addressed that. Me'lindi is alive, her soul merged with the mind of the girl Draco made into a back up body for her. So Me'lindi is just fine, she is basically sharing the girls body.

Draco is alive as well, as a powerful psyker his soul is intact since it cannot be attacked by deamons inside the webway, he is basically a psyker ghost that spies on Me'lindi. It was hinted that he might try to find a way to regain his body.
>>
>>43791855
Her soul wasn't erased, Me'Lindi specifically mentions that it is intact. And the rape is an important plot point, it allows for the story to continue in typical fucked up manner. Consider the following:

Draco is a body-less webway ghost observing me'lindi in her new host body last time we saw him right? What if she was pregnant? It would give his soul a place to inhabit. So Me'lindi can give birth to him (logical plot twist given all the pregnancy references and her angst at being sterile) and raise Draco as her own child who happens to be his own father. With the weird time stuff in the webway she can slow her aging so she isn't a old hag when Draco grows up enough to start boning her again.

You know Taldeer killed certain vindicare in canon.
I doubt that any woman can stand against such man. Aaand smurfs should have reason for keeping eldar hybrids.

>>43795412
Sweet baby Jesus, it's the most fucked up plot in 40k and i like it.
>>

The hilarious part is he has briefly met Czevak while inside the Black Library but they didn't talk. Can you imagine the sheer heresy if they started hanging out?

"Heretic! You can't use a Assassin like that!"
"Didn't you mention something about wanting to screw a Living Saint?"
"Well yeah but..."
"Got a picture of her?"
"Yeah, right here....."
"Hey Me'lindi, look at this...."
"Oh my...."
"Hey Me'lindi, think you could do Eldar Living Saint?"
"Sure thing Jaq"
"But...But..."
"It is OK Bronislaw, i know the Emperor remember? He is totally OK with this..."
>>
>>43795728
They are both Ricks of 40k.

Why hasn't anyone made a comic of one of these getting raped by something slaaneshi?
>>
>>43792527
FFG should never have tried to justify their stat changes to make marine bolters better using fluff. It's given so many people that ridiculous belief.
>>
>>43795768
In inquisition war one of them gets tentacle raped by a psychic tentacle blob and loves it. That incident is the LEAST graphic and disturbing thing that happens.

I personally like to think the first stage is magnetic like like a rail gun with the rocket stage being used for flight correction / explosive force on impact
