What's your favourite generic class/race combo in fantasy?
Like
>Elven Ranger
>Dwarf Fighter
>Human Paladin
>Half-Orc Barbarian
>[Tiefling, Drow, or other "evil" race] Rogue
Etc, etc
So, what is it nerds?
Human Bard
Can't decide between Human Paladin or Half-Orc Barbarian
I do know that I fucking hate halfling rogue though.
Can't beat orc barbarians.

Human Wizard.
Elf Fighter.
People all too quickly think of Wizards, Rangers, Rogues and Druids when they think of Elves.
>>43784662
Dwarven fighter / Dwarven cleric. Dwarves are awesome.
Dwarf barbarian
Orc/Half-Orc Barbarians all the way.
Unfortunately I need more female art of that particular race/class
>>43784662
dwarf wizard, so i could take some damage without just falling down like shit, also i can also fight if i need to
Human _______. Fill in the blank as long as you keep the "human".
Half-Orc Bards are a favorite of mine.
>>43784758
That's because I don't acknowledge Fighters as a Class. It's got nothing to do with Elves.
Human Monk is fun and easily my favorite. Half-Elf monk is great too.
Those... those are the stereotypical Monk races, right?
Human Paladin.
Since Paladins keep on going through sheer force of will, and willpower seems to be humanity's only strength, the two mesh well.
>>43784662
kobold rogue
Elf Wizard, Human Rogue, Dwarf Fighter the classics
>>43784662
Drow Paladin. Love the irony.
>>43785203
>the classics
You mean Human Fighter, Human Ranger, Dwarf Fighter, Elf Fighter, 2x Halfling Thief, 2x Halfling Fighter, and a DMPC.
>>43785235
Maybe replace the Elf Fighter with Elf Ranger.
Halfling fighter
There's pretty much never a mechanical reason to do it, but I just like underdogs
Human priests/clerics/etc. I like a bit of tension between "this guy is clearly just an overzealous, raving lunatic" and "holy shit his magic actually works and the deity he serves is clearly real"
Dwarven Paladin
Never falter, never stop. Also, that +2 CON is great.
Gnoll Bard
>>43784917
Half-whatever is stupid
Warforged Artificer has always been a favorite of mine, if only because the one I played was a total pain in the ass made of fun.
>"nothing up my sleeves, officer."
>"Except now my arm is a GUN"
>>43787669
That sounds absolutely fantastic and hilarious.
It's not really generic (though racially effective in the last two editions), but I love Drow Monk, so I can make up over the top spider-themed kung fu moves.
One time my friend ran an Elf Monk at the same time and made over the top eagle-themed kung fu moves, so we'd be able to get into lots of cliche arguments about whose kung fu was stronger.
>>43784662
>Human / Paladin
People looked at me like i invented fucking fire when I didn't play an asshole who scolded everyone.
Yeah, I'm gonna go with Dwarf Fighter. Say what you will, but as far as fantasy stereotypes go, they're my favorite.
>>43784662
Human Fighter
Human Cleric
Human Paladin
Human Ranger
Human Wizard
Human Rogue
Human everything
Fuck the rest, humans a best
>>43787882
When did paladins stop having a monopoly on the altruistic, open-minded, ultra bro character archetype?
>>43784662
>Halfling Fighter/Paladin
Played him once as a joke and now I'm hooked. A little knight with a big heart.
>Elf/Half-Elf bard
With elves comes more exotic instruments. Jaw Harps are especically cool.
>Human Wizard
Nothing can beat the classic Wodin-style wandering old man, props for using alchemy as well.
>Some sort of beast race Thief
Now you actually have a reason to hide in cloaks and be antisocial! But in all seriousness, it's cool to accent rogues with unique nonhuman abilites, like flight or cat-like grace.
>>43785260
I played one of these in a death match tournament style campaign.
Earned the nickname "shin splitter"
>>43784662
Human Fighter.
An oldie, but a goodie (in some systems at least).
Just soldiers in general appeal to me, mostly because I'm a manlet whom focus and discipline escapes.

>What's your favourite generic class/race combo in fantasy?
That isn't 'fantasy', that's Dungeons and Dragons. The vast majority of fantasy games don't have class systems.
