This isn't the OP we need, but it's the one we deserve.
Been using puca for about a half year now. I like it. I've sent 181 cards and received 157 back, my most expensive receive was a Grim Monolith at 2850pp and most expensive send was Baby Jace at 8000pp. I got pretty lucky that somebody wanted my Jace for that much, I don't think I could've offloaded him anywhere else for that much.

I mention on my profile that I accept SP cards as well as NM. I'm fine with a couple nicks and scratches if it means my cards are more likely to be authentic. I usually keep the stuff I request anyway, no intention to return or flip them later.

So why is it that 90% of the time I see people talk about Blade of Selves, it's about how you get to attack each player, and not about how it triggers a fuckload of ETB.

I don't know who you've talked to but I remember a lot of discussion the day that was spoiled which mentioned ETB creatures. A couple people fantasized about strapping the sword to Hydra Omnivore or Master of Cruelties, I guess.
I still think it's a pretty bad equipment though

Because they're shitters who actually care about combat effects rather than just endlessly abusing ETB and sac effects.
God, the idea of strapping it to a Sengir Autocrat in Teysa, Orzhov Scion and getting about a dozen sacs off of it makes me wet.

Posting decklist for help as usual. Took out Animist's Awakening because it fucking sucks and might as well be a worse Genesis Wave that lets you untap the lands you put into play SOMETIMES, if you're lucky.

So how would this work if it was strapped to a kalonian hydra? Do you choose the order of all the counters doubling or does it happen just once?

You'd get one trigger. The original kalonian would double counters. Each copy enters already attacking, and therefore too late to trigger. It's the same reason Geist doesn't trigger Kytheon.

You only get the attack trigger from the original Kalonian Hydra. You'd put it on the stack in such a way that the copies enter as 4/4s, then the counter doubling occurs and raises them up to 8/8s. You would not get 3 additional triggers of counter doubling.
