Your burgeoning party of adventurers has achieved a notable victory in clearing out a den of bandits. As such, you have received an upgrade in personal protection from crude leather and padded cloth. You have each received from a local mayor a set of metal armor from far off parts. It looks a bit strange and it does not cover as much as the armor you're more familiar with but it's solid and sturdy.

It was leather armor that got the Mongols into China in the first place. Combination of leather and silk undershirts made it easy to pull out arrows with little fuss( the leather kept it from going too far, and the silk took the brunt of the tearing when it was pulled out so the wound stay pretty small.

Buff coats were used even by the English.
It's like people trying to reconstruct WW2 tanks based on 90s pixel sprites.

Well, hematite and magnetite did form due to oxygen production by early organisms, but that doesn't really count as fossils.

Let me educate you a bit, all elements of a lower atomic number then iron were created by the life and death of the stars that came before ours. Any elements larger than iron were created by super large stars as they died and their cores collapsed in black holes, and in the process ejecting the outside of the star in such a massive fucking explosion that it fused this material into even larger elements. In summary you and everything you can touch, see, feel, and everything we can observe in this universe is the product of the deaths and explosions of countless stars. Also if this wasn't bait for the love of all existence read a fucking book you moron.
