Roses? Blood? Gunpowder? Sulphur?

Sweat, blood and urine. A battlefield is not exactly a clean environment.

If it's a hospital order - blood, bleach and incense.

If its one of the Bene Jesuit orders - perfume, fine wine and parchment.

Sisters in full power armor probably smell really horrendous. Modern fencing masks can accrue some seriously foul odors yet they only cover the head and have holes to allow airflow. Imagine what a sealed full body suit would be like.

As much as Sisters get turned on by purging the enemies of the Emprah, wouldn't it follow that they'd get turned on by men who are particularly good at doing the very same thing?

The whole Sisters are pedos thing a shit

I don't think the deeply religious sisters would find much in the almost autistic stormtroopers beyond their competence.

If a sister went with anyone, it would probably be another member of the ecclesiarchy.
>>
>>43758706
Maybe. But then most priests are going to be just as "autistic" as Stormtroopers, and they are not guaranteed to be as competent.

Really though, Imperial Guard veterans are probably most likely to get the average Sister's attention. Competent, and usually at least as pious.

maybe, but being autistic about the emperor is a positive trait for them, while being autistic about orders and combat drills is not much of a turn on.

>I don't think the deeply religious sisters would find much in the almost autistic stormtroopers beyond their competence

People who have survived death multiple times and/or been indoctrinated into the Imperial Cult from an extremely yound age are almost guaranteed to be as religious as Sisters, at least at the ideological level. Furthermore, Scions would share a common background with Sisters, as both of them are composed of orphans drawn from the Schola Progenium, that a normal Ecclessiarch wouldn't.
.
>>43758961
>while being autistic about orders and combat drills is not much of a turn on.

That is literally 3/4 of the life of a Battle Sister, and soldiers of all stripes are some of the most pious and religious individuals due to constantly being thrown into extremely dangerous situations. This is especially true if the Scions in question are Inquisitorial (and the Inquisition and the Sisters work together quite frequently).

but you misunderstand how the scions are. They aren't pious in the slightest. They've been drilled to the point that the drills are all that remains.

Scions are good troops for mixed-unit/force/race operations, because they think of nothing beyond what they've been ordered to do. Everything else is just white noise.
>>
If they're any religious order worth their salt, then everything they own smells like incense and burning oils. That smell sticks to everything.

Uhhh... source on your claim that Scions are not pious? Just because it might be mentioned much in the codex and other fluff, doesn't mean that they arent, even if that prayer and belief doesn't permeate everything they do.

I mean, kids in a schola are taught by men holding the title of Drill Abbot. And you mean to say that they come out of that upbringing being irreligious?

Your claim does not hold to scrutiny.

>>43752212
Wicked hot gash my friend
>>
>>43766058
They seed the pious ones into the Ministorum proper, bro. It's right in their codex.

Scion cadets are hammered down till they're almost automatons. What's interesting is that leaves scions with minds extremely hard to influence psychically. They show up briefly in the Execution Force novel as cardboard targets for the chaos goons.

>>43766147
You can quote a psalm and commit a bible to memory, but that's not piety. Pretty simple, man.
>>
>>43766470
Nigga, they're still pious to some extent. If they aren't pious enough, they get blammed. It's the MOST pious ones the Ecclesiarchy takes. Why do want to believe so badly that they're automatons who know literally nothing else besides drill, orders, and battle? They aren't combat servitors, they're still humans with presence of mind. Only Ogryns know nothing more than their job.

And all this from the question of what Sisters smell like. Typical /tg/...

>If they aren't pious enough, they get blammed
Nigga, it's explicit. It's if they don't follow orders, not a lack of piety. More often than not they'll be mind-raped into compliance, or used as an example and hunted as a live target by their former classmates.

Nothing about piety, just following commands to the letter.

>They aren't combat servitors, they're still humans with presence of mind.
Actually, in the modern fluff that's been impaired a good deal. They're closer to robots than you'd think, and rely quite heavily on the direction of their squad and platoon leaders. Basically small, fleshy kastelans.
>>
>>43767028
Scions are described as discplined as all hell, but they also have to be quick-thinking and somewhat individualistic because they're deep-ops troopers who often have to fight on their own behind enemy lines, with little to no support from command, or in the most dangerous of warzones where split second decisions don't just decide life and death but also mission success and the lives of other teams in the field. Sure, they're not super-special unique free thinkers, but they're not robots, and they're still definitely human.

People who want robots get robots. People who want hard-ass motherfuckers get Stormtroopers.
>>
>>43766470
>You can quote a psalm and commit a bible to memory, but that's not piety.

Nigga that is like the definition of piety. Piety is adherence to a religious creed to a very strong degree, including all the rites and rituals it includes. You can be religious but not pious.

Piety is beaten into them, because they are raised literally by the officers of the most powerful Imperial organizations all condensed under one roof, including the Ecclessiarchy. All cadets recieve constant spiritual education, even after they branch into their organizations in their teens and move on from their general education, and overseen by Ecclessiarchs and Priests all the time. They are trained to the standards required to serve the agents of the Inquisition (most Scion regiments end up working for them at some point for at least a brief while), which requires a whole hell of a lot of spiritual power and piety to get their. They are trained that their orders and duty are to serve the God-Emperor himself, and they do that well.

They're soldiers raised in a religious academy that are required to meet a certain spiritual standard because they can be called to work for people who deal with literal Cosmic Evil on a daily basis. Robots or blank-slate soldiers could not do their job, because they would fall too easily.
>>
>>43767028
>following commands to the letter
Which includes strict adherence to the Imperial Creed.

>in the modern fluff that's been impaired
>closer to robots
Yet another case of GW overdoing the grimdark and not thinking it through. Why the hell would they be so extensively trained and expensively equipped if they were basically small, fleshy kastelans? If the task required that then kastelans would be used, so if they were so robotic they'd be useless. They can survive, act, and think individually just as well as a Space Marine could, and Marines are even more "mind raped". The level of dependence you describe would require retardation or lobotomy, neither of which are the case.
