We have had this thread before, and I feel like nothing would change.
Every time, the argument gets thrown out that the Emperor was worn out, too distant from humanity to ever really empathize or care for his own sons, who he saw more as generals. Part of me likes to hope that he was planning to help them more once the Crusade was done and over with, and everyone more or less had time to rest, but he - or she - definitely wasn't going to change how they did things just because they had a pair of tits instead of a penis.
The Sisters of Silence were already respected and feared because they were an organization of blanks, and a fairly powerful one at that too. They just happened to slip out of the lore. As for the Sisters of Battle, they themselves might personally see themselves closer to an Empress than an Emperor, but no one else would likely treat them differently, especially since they could still carry the shame of Vandire.
Can't we at least change the question a little bit? What if the Emperor was white, instead of Anatolian? What if he was black or asian? What if he had died sometime through human history, and only rose back up again around the ending of the warp storms around Terra, and was much 'younger' and had older ideas? What if he was friends with the Eldar and they gave him his powers instead of the shaman thing or HH's ex-servant of the Chaos gods bullshit?

Well, trips, I don't know your source, but what little info I have is that both genders will care for their children more or less equally. But how much they care does rely on the connection they form with their children after birth - physical contact, holding them, ect.
The Emperor wouldn't necessarily care more as a man or a woman, because his children were taken from him very young. The main reason he loved Horus the best was because he found him early and did get to raise him somewhat, and it could be argued something similar happened with Rogal Dorn, especially with how deeply he grieved after his father's death.
All the other primarchs he met later on, when most of them were already men and leaders in their own right. And as much as people get mad about the Emperor treating them more like generals than his children, think about what would happen if you never had a dad, and he suddenly showed up when you had become a man, and successful in your own right to boot. Would you want him trying to bond with you and treat you like a kid, or would you want him to treat you like a man and a leader of men?

Actually competition is exactly what you need. When someone does something, others will and should want to do it better. Intercompetition is healthy and how armies improve. Private fuckoff can do 50 pushups in 30 seconds, well now 50 is the minumum, thus you all eventually get better. Military Tradition is nothing more than sophisticated one-upsmanship in a heavily masculine environment. Men want to compete.
Women compete completely differently, They compete through subversion. They turn the pack against who they don't like instead of trying to out do them.
