A parody splat for nWoD that I we will build in this thread.

The characters can chose betweeen clans of freaks: Body Modifcators, Tattoo artists, biohackers, maybe Drug dealers.

They are rejects from the society but unlike every other nWoD splat they acquire no powers only more social problems.

Their enemies are angry moms, devote christians, and police officers.

What would be a game goal for a coterie of freaks? What would be in game consequences of acquiring eye tattoo, horns, rastas etc.?
>>
but cute chicks remain cute even with mods...
>>
When they meet vampires they assume vampires are just guys who modiefied their teeth and are too pussy to do any serious mod on themeslve.

So would it stay pretty close to "excessive body mods" type freaks, or would there be shit like furries, bronies, CWC etc. in there?

You, my good son, need to hear the good word about HoL. All hail the Spanhk!

> What would be a game goal for a coterie of freaks?
High Respect points without being put down by "The Man". More changes and more extreme actions reward more respect points but make Freaks lose Humanity. At Humanity 0 they are barely functional/recognizable as humans and likely to be shot by some fedora-wearer who thinks they're a zombie.

> What would be in game consequences of acquiring eye tattoo, horns, rastas etc.?
Humanity Loss. The bigger, less mainstream, and more permanent the changes are the more risk of humanity loss. An arm tattoo? Not risky. Screw-in horns for your temples? Risky.

> Path of Change
In Freakland humanity loss is part of the path of respect and not really feared outside of the increasing dangers from "normals". Low humanity and high respect go hand in hand most of the time.

> Path Virtues
The Path of Change values the ability to alter oneself and change one's destiny, for the better or the worse. Many on the Path og Change know they can't change the world by themselves, but they know they can always alter themselves to help change the world.

Physical changes to manifest this personal command over oneself are key in following this path. Respect replaces Humanity, Humanity, however, is kept as a side trait.

> Path Sins

10: Not attempting to undertake a Massive change. Even if it must be done in steps, we all must change drastically to evolve.

9: Keeping company at all with those who have no alterations. You choose your company as you choose your life.

8: Insulting or being negative about another's alterations. All change is movement forward and should not be stifled.

7: Having lovers or friends who have no alterations. Those who do not change stagnate. Stagnation breeds decay. Cut out decay to foster change.

6: Getting any infections or illnesses from your alterations. Mastery of the body also includes keeping a healthy body.

5: Only choosing Moderate or lower alterations. Change requires sacrifice. Without Sacrifice we can not become something else.

4: Not encouraging the alteration of the body. Part of respect is being supportive of others' choices. Respect for others breeds more respect for you.

3: Choosing only minor modifications (ex: pierced ears, arm tattoo), fearing humanity loss. Part of harnessing the power of change is to do so fearlessly.

2: Discouraging alterations to someone else's body. You do not control their destiny, so knock it off!

1: Removing or reducing the appearance of alterations one has made to oneself. Although this is a personal change of the body, it is a change towards the mainstream and not worthy of respect.

> Change levels/risks
Please note that I'm not super familiar with how stats/dice run in nWOD so feel free to alter this if things don't "flow right".

> Minor
Things most people consider "normal". Pierced ears, an arm tattoo, a chest tattoo, ect. Low risk (10%) of one humanity loss per alteration. Low risk (10%) of Respect gain.

> Small
Stuff that might freak out Grandma or make you have some social stigma, but still not too weird. Tramp stamp, nose piercing, eyebrow piercing, chest or back tattoo, ect. Low risk (15%) of one humanity loss per alteration. Low risk (15%) of Respect gain.

> Moderate
Things that people stare at, but won't bar you from working at the mall. Tribal-style stretched ear piercings the size of a quarter or smaller, neck, arm, or leg tattoos, pointed ears, multiple piercings in the same body part, ect. Moderate risk (20%) of one humanity loss per alteration. Moderate risk (20%) of Respect gain.

> Advanced
You can't work at mainstream jobs anymore with these visible, but you can still work in head shops and specialty stores. Large stretched ear lobes, small implants such as metal studs, face tattoos, ect. Moderate risk (25%) of one humanity loss per alteration. Moderate risk (25%) of Respect gain. Risk of infection without proper care: 15%

> Severe
You probably work for a freak show or night club as an oddity if you work outside the house at all. Serious credentials might let you work a mainstream job if you have your own office and nobody has to look at you. Large implants (ex: horns), altered teeth, eyeball tattoos, Silicone texture implants, Animal-like alterations, tattoos that cover at least 30% of the body, ect. High risk (50%) of one humanity loss per alteration. High risk (50%) of Respect gain. Risk of infection without proper care: 30%

> Massive
You work as a freak or work at home. There are no other options. These changes often take years to complete. Full body scarification, Full body tattoo, tattoos under every single finger and toe nail, implants covering at least 30% of the body, intentionally missing or mangled body parts, ect. Very High risk (85%) of one humanity loss per alteration. Very high risk (95%) of Respect gain. Risk of infection without proper care: 70%

>Consequences of lost humanity

Besides the obvious problems of finding work, less humanity points also means decreased acceptance by non-altered humans.

> Humanity 10
Are you even trying? Normal dude.

> Humanity 9
Grandma thinks you need to clean up your act. Emo kids think you're cool.

> Humanity 8
Eyed with suspicion at churches, high-end stores and other "respectable" establishments.

> Humanity 7
You mom thinks you need to clean up your act. It's hard to not be noticed when walking down the street.

> Humanity 6
Cops are likely to stare at you as they think you're up to something. Turned away from or barred from "respectable establishments" unless you cover up your alterations.

>Humanity 5
Finding mainstream work is difficult. You are easily pointed out in a small group of people and people snap photos of you in public. Hiding is not easy. Facebook and Instagram are your bane.

> Humanity 4
Finding mainstream work is impossible, finding alternative work is tricky. Turned away from "respectable establishments" by guards. Often patted down or searched by cops. Stared at even in "alternative" establishments. Easily spotted in a crowd.

> Humanity 3
You are infamous for your alterations and people you have never met recognize you. Your family and old friends have most likely disowned you. Finding work is extremely difficult if not impossible. Alterations are starting to get in the way of everyday activities like speaking clearly or typing.

> Humanity 2
People leave a wide berth around you. Everyone stares regardless of where you are. Cops are likely to arrest you for walking down the road as you're a disruption of the public peace. Only other alternative lifestylers will talk to you. Alterations impair everyday activities on a regular basis or cause physical problems such as headaches.

> Humanity 1
Other alternate lifestylers stare at you. Working at all is difficult due to impairments caused by your alterations. Finding a place to sleep and food you can actually eat is difficult.

>Humanity 0
Barely recognizable as human. Everyone, even other altered people, give you wide berth. You are forced into a life of secluded survival where going anywhere in peace is almost impossible, physically being able to work is unlikely, and basic everyday activities like eating are a daily struggle. Suicide or hermitage is very likely, provided some neckbeard doesn't think you're a zombie and shoot you first.

Bothering with furries and bronies that don't really mod their bodies would be basically be making more clans of Rejects with different values. Furries/Bronies and Body Modification people don't behave in a similar fashion at all despite generally being kicked to the curb by society.

So it would be like Lasombra versus Tzimisce only with sad people too stuck on their own fascinations instead of awesome undead monsters. Yep.

Idea for a name for this splatbook:
> Losers: The Rejected

Anything missing on the body mod people?
>>
>>43715803
Does each body unique body mod have a corresponding unique effect? Otherwise it just looks like all the mechanical differentiation is just two reputation meters.
>>
>>43715803
For the Furries/Bronies, humanity loss could come from fursuiting, yiffing, and excessive clopping
>>
>>43716016
Expanding on it, elf ears allow you to easily seduce loser types, certain tattoos intimidate or attract, etc.
>>
>>43715803
I'm thinking of some kind of system where rather than be feared by society, your inept body mods just look embarrasing.
>>
>>43712764
>cute chicks remain cute even with mods

yeah nah
>>
the fuck is wrong with these niggas
>>
>>43716016
>>43716074
That would be a good idea. There also should be social buffs for gaining Reputation levels among the other body modders.

>>43716146
So sort of a risk of failure? Like those bad tattoos people get sometimes and DIY piercings that heal shut with a little pip of a scar instead of a hole.

>>43716430
Body modification has a thriving community. Most of them are happy with a couple tattoos and piercings... and then you get people who just dive in wildly for one reason or another.

Tom Leppard is a hermit who had no real use for money so he took his excess money and decided to get a tattoo of Leopard spots. He decided he liked the tattoo and wanted to be leopard spotted everywhere as it's a "Colorful and simple design".

Lucky Diamond was a panhandler who got a tattoo on a dare. People liked his tattoo and gave him more money, so he got more tattoos. He's now the world's most tattooed man beating Tom Leppard for the title.

Katzen the Tiger Lady was a musician who liked tigers, so she got some stripes tattooed on. Then she got more and more and added whiskars and well... the rest is history.

Lizard Man is a professional side show performer and always has been from what I understand anyway. He started with a bifurcated tongue that gave him the nickname and just ran with it to become the Lizard Man.

Enigma started as a traveling performer who got into the side show business doing tricks with his nose. He was encouraged by Katzen to get tattoos and from there fell in love with body modification.

Stalking Cat found out he was a Native American via blood tests and joined his tribe where he was given the Tiger as his spirit animal. He decided to follow in his tribe's tradition of taking on the traits of his spirit animal... literally. He was trying to become a tiger-man to become one with the spirits.

So yep, they all have stories and some are more fucked than others. That's the way it always is, though!

There's already a game for furries and bronies.
Are we so quick to forget our accomplishments here on /tg/?

>>43712764
Yeah, nah, they really don't, even the absolute top-tier of chicks only look decent after some modification.
