Would you sell your soul to an unstable robotic overlord for toy soldiers and food?
>>43702786
>Would you sell your soul
No.
>>43702786
Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes.
I don't want the world, I don't want success, I don't even need to be loved. I just want to be alone with my toys. My childhood dream was to live in a world run by robots anyways.
>>43702786
>sell your soul
Assuming such a thing existed, why the fuck would you ever sell it?
Unless of course the afterlife consisted of nothing but unspeakable horrendous torture that you'd never get used to for all of eternity.
>>43702786
Soul? No.
Body?Absolutely.
Also, do you mind if I have some sauce? Google isn't giving me anything.

Just as good as Material Girl, if different in theme.
>>43702832
Thank you anon, you are a gentleman and a scholar.
>>43702813
Well, I was speaking metaphorically, but...assuming souls exist, why would you not if you got a guaranteed deal? A possible afterlife that might be good or not vs guaranteed not-terrible one?
>>43702786
define "soul"
>>43702786
>battleaxe 50k
>selling your soul
>ever
Whenever someone wants to buy your soul, it's bad. There's never a good situation where this happens.
>>43702786
Nah. I'd rather get a robotic animal companion for a more reasonable price.
>>43702786
>would you sell your soul
That would imply that my soul is worth anything. Considering the reason I spend a lot of time n this board? That's, uh.
Not a thing that's true.
>>43703085
>There's never a good situation where this happens.
What about in that one D&D setting where if you don't get some extraplanar big shot to give a shit about your soul you end up melting in eternal torment on the wall of atheists
Souls aren't real.
>>43703605
>Rahadoum detected
>>43702786
What are they going to do with my soul afterwards?
>>43703605
So, you'll enter a binding agreement to sell me your soul in exchange for pornographic pictures, then? I post porn, you surrender your soul to me immediately?
>>43703628
Nothing, you just have to serve them how they see fit, then you die of (presumably) old age. They just get off on knowing you sold your soul for minor physical comforts.
>>43703605
>Being so autistically fedora that you can't even pretend that souls are real for the sake of the story
>>>/reddit/
>>43703707
So after I die I get my should back?
They are offering me job security and some hefty bonuses included? Come on, there is no downside.
>>43703719
No, you don't. You agreed it's theirs. However, you don't know if souls exist. Or not. You're agreeing for a life of indentured servitude, with some minor perks, and possible repercussions in possible afterlife. And no, there's no "i don't wanna" in this scenario. You will work where and when told by the mildly insane robot overlord. They won't put your life at risk, but you may find yourself dusting the same room over and over, for a year with just sleep and food breaks. Or locked away in display cabinet. Or you'd just do normal work. you can't know.
>>43703605
Then you have no reason not to sell yours, right?
>>43703789
Fuck off, I already put up an offer, you're not going to get this one from me if he bites like last time.
>>43703789
Perhaps he's a good person and wouldn't want to take unfair advantage of some poor schizophrenic who believes in souls, nor further encourage their delusions
>>43703830
>Perhaps he's a good person and wouldn't want to take unfair advantage of some poor schizophrenic who believes in souls, nor further encourage their delusions
>>43702786
Necrontyr tried. They got only massive butthurt in the end.
>>43703843
>not having a belief system where you prepare for things you don't believe in
I mean, I don't believe in any of the gods, but that doesn't stop me from keeping a fistfull of religious icons on me at all times.
I don't think there is any juju in them, but if there -is-, I want it.
>>43702809
But you'd still have to work with the others who did the same.
>>43702786
Literally or metaphorically?
>>43705996
Both? but metaphorically is easier to imagine.
>>43702786
What does selling a soul entail in practical terms?
What's a soul needed for?
Because it all boils down to that wt the end, comparison of bonus and malus, not currency.
>>43703878
>valuing icons over the beliefs behind them
Ishygddt
>>43702786
So, story behind this is what?
>>43708228
It's a comics, based on Nomad's FMP setting.
>>43709003
I have no idea what that is
>>43703085
"Some of you may encounter the Devil's Bargain. Any old soul is worth saving, at least to a priest, but not every soul is worth buying. So you can take the offer as a compliment."
-William S. Burroughs
>>43703878
Fucking loved that character. The best sniveling piece of shit ever.
Also one of my favorite pic related movies.
>>43703085
>an Angel, glorious to behold and radiating the light of God, breaks into Hell. He stretches his hand desperately towards the damned who suffer there endlessly and says "Quickly! Give your soul to me, that you might be saved!"
>the tormented spirit looks at him wryly and says "Oh no, I'm not falling for THAT one again!"
>>43702809
I actually know how that feels.
The world holds nothing for me, I participate in it because I must. All I really want to do is sleep, paint, and write stories. Fuck ambition, power is a fool's game. The higher you rise, the farther there is to fall. Better not to waste the effort.

While it bears little impact on the question itself. FMP stands for french maid planet. It's a typical robot apocalypse, but with magical realm twist. All males were anihilated in the war, and females bound and enslaved to do menial work like cleanin the bots..or just for decorative value. Humanity, which the FMP meets later, is too powerful to destroy/enslave, so the bots just abduct ladies from time to time. Or get the ones that willingly come. They are also bound, dressed in maid uniform and ready for lifetime (or rather- many lifetimes, since anti-aging treatment is freely dispensed to the maids) of service, but have slightly more freedom. Nomoko is unusual in that it has a gynoid body rather than just blocky robot, and quirky enough to treat maids with more individuality. She's also got a crush on the president of Earth (mrs. Shakti) and tries to kidnap and maidify her.
In this scenario of course we assume males don't get automatically anihillated or the point is moot.
