At the mid point of every game, you need to make an "Existential" roll.
With a modifier based on how many units died so far.
Each player chooses a unit to give a monologue. Roll + modifier based on factions.
The units duel, then the dying unit rolls + modifier based on the difference between the two armies remaining unit points.
The losing player then chooses a unit from the winner and gains control of it, it betrays the nominated duelist.
Roll 1-100 on the "Kojima Story Event Table."
Conclude every game with a duel between a 25 point unit and a 100 point unit.
Give the 25 point unit +3 to all rolls.

dragonfall was particularly bad; the game couldn't decide what ending to give me for the producer mission so i somehow ended up with the fluff of not getting the actress fired but the reward for doing so
then, for the final mission, it let me select the ghoul samurai as a companion even though i capped his ass
then there's just several shitty problems like saves only working if you haven't accepted a mission even if you're in town, the horribly ugly models, the clunkiness of movement and the camera, and so on
don't get me wrong the games are enjoyable but i wouldn't trust HBS with ANYTHING besides a turn based rpg
