Who are the most "logical" examples of Traitors? As in those who are more mind-over-matter and dedicated to their mission, not just fucking skulls.

The most bro-tier? Are there any that can be considered this?

The most organized?

The least edgy-for-the-sake-of-being-edgy?

Pic not necessarily related.

Alpha legion fits all of that
>>
Thousand Sons are very non-edgy considering the majority are mindless robots incapable of independent thought anyway. They mostly keep to themselves but will fuck over anything to get to that shiny new McGuffin they have their eyes on.

Most organized... probably either the Black Legion or Red Corsairs, due to having an active leader, Abaddon and Huron respectively.

As for most bro-tier, I can't say. I heard Blood Gorgons aren't that bad though, despite the name.

>"logical"
Iron warriors.

>bro
They're traitors not your bros.

>organized
Word bearers are the only legion that remains a legion.

>least edgy
Probably the alpha legion, but only because they've got no real defining features or personality. The retcons haven't been kind.

Word Bearers

>Jump started the entire Horus Heresy
>Manipulated fucking everyone
>Destroyed half the entire Ultramarines Legion
>Not even their Primarch who's supposedly the weakest, but his second in command had Roboute Guilliman at his mercy
>Have been charismatic guys so far who do a great job as a result of recruitment with cultists/heretics everywhere
>Friends as many different factions as a Chaos Legion can be
>Didn't fucking bitch out post Horus Heresy and are still a full Legion (even Abaddon/Black Legion don't become this organized only during Black Crusade time)

Anons please, no such "Alpha Legion" exists. Please surrender yourself to your local Inquisition headquarters immediately, where they will begin your re-education.

Fuck! That car just became a Dreadnought!

I'm reminded of the Parable of the Talents.

That's kind of a shame, but I suppose it at least opens up room for player freedom.

>They're traitors not your bros

This for fucks sake. You don't end up a chaos space marine by being a bro. This isn't to say there aren't some tragic circumstances that made monsters out of what are already suppose to be at least unnerving super soldiers, but that none of them are good, or even things you'd want to be around. They're living weapons that betrayed the only oaths they made and live for thousands of years on hatred for a thing they already killed billions to build. Not bros.
>>
I dunno, Zso Sahaal seemed almost like a Bro. He can't be the only one.

Black Legion and Word Bearers are pretty "logical" in that they have "rational" missions and objectives, a logical and definite chain of command and complex hierarchies and traditions that allow them to operate more or less exactly as they did as true Legions.

Black Legions goal is the destruction of the Imperium and putting Abaddon on the Golden Throne, and use Chaos in every manner to accomplish said goal. They are the most "trustworthy" (if any CSM can be called that) in the sense that if you hold up your end of a bargain, they'll hold up theirs, therefore they make solid allies because they're relatively dependable. Furthermore, the fact that they use Chaos in all its forms as a tool allows them to connect with other Warbands of specific gods and opens up a chain of communication that can be exploited. Because they are all about results and destroying the Imperium, and Abaddon is the Warmaster and chosen by the Dark Gods, they are the most powerful and respect among all the Traitor Marines.

Word Bearers worship Chaos in all its forms, but unlike the Black Legion desire the glorification of Chaos for its own sake, not simply to overthrow the Imperium. They make use of all forms of Chaos just like the Black Legion, but view mastery of Chaos as an end in and of itself. They are the most centralized Traitor Legion, and operate almost exactly as they did before the Heresy.

>Abaddon on the Golden Throne
I always read this but wouldn't that be a really bad idea for him?At best it would instantly kill him, at worst it would siphon off all the power the gods gave him and use them through him as a power source. Since it is used to drive back their influence it could conceivably nuke them using their own power in a massive feed back loop.

>YFW the Emperor WANTS him to sit on it.

He'd immediately open the gate to the warp underneath the throne.
>>
>>43584521
Abaddon was bros with his close companion who he had a first name basis relationship with them. He launched war on the Dark City itself for the sake of one of his friends.

His friend would later give up all his power and influence just to act as a messenger for Abaddon to Terra.
>>
>>43586824
Not even to save the friend, but because they killed his undead dark eldar not girlfriend.
>>
>>43586824

Abaddon also betrayed and killed several of his closest battle brothers and former friends, and there was a thing called the istavan dropsite massacre. Dude's charismatic and a smart leader, that's not the same thing as being a bro. He is close with the sorcerer in Talon, but partially because the sorcerer is a means to an end. Killing a lot of dark eldar to help your means get some revenge isn't just a bro thing, its smart use of your subordinates.
