You are Ur'shal, Chieftain of the Stonetusk Clan and Warlord of the Wastes. You suppose you can consider this the first step (or second, if you count the elven villages) to expanding your rule beyond your desolate, rocky homeland. The dragon cultist compound has fallen to your forces, and without too many losses on your part. Of course you still have a great many other difficult locals to deal with, the shifters, the elder serpent and the fire dragon Xipil all pose a challenge to your dominance over the southern jungles, which forms the easiest route into the 'civilized' lands beyond.

The celebration of your clan's victory has continued through most of the day, and aside from your lieutenants having to crack a few heads to force the revelling orcs to switch out guarding the damaged perimeter of the cult's compound it's been a day without serious complications.

“Ur, we might have a problem.”

Until now, you suppose. You turn to face your old friend, Zo'rok wearing his usual grin, though you've known him long enough to be able to tell from his body language that he isn't playing around.

“What sort of problem?”

“It's one of the lamia, she's been demanding to speak to you. Course, most of the clan don't speak elvish, so it took a while before anyone knew, and longer before they thought to actually report it.”

“What's she got to ask me about?” you frown, propping yourself up against the altar.

“Says she's not from this compound, says she came here from Xipil as a messenger.”

You sigh, glancing down at Isyil, the former high priestess lounging half-asleep at the foot of the altar.

“Oh, she did, didn't she. I suppose that must have slipped my mind with all that was going on,” Isyil smiles, stretching out with a yawn on the stone floor.

Sure, I'm interested what Xipil's worshippers are like. Besides, always nice to learn more of our eventual slaves.
I assume she didn't manage to avoid getting dicked last night, though, how sad.

“I'll talk to her,” you grunt.

“Hope you enjoy the experience as much as I did,” Isyil chuckles, resting her chin on her arms as Zo'rok heads off to go fetch her.

He returns a little while later with two orcs escorting the lamia in question. It's obvious from looking at her that whatever orc claimed her has had plenty of fun with the lamia already. What meagre clothing she had hangs off her in shreds, the lamia's face a mess of smeared face paint and orcish seed.

“You, are you the leader of this warband?” the lamia hisses in harsh elvish, evidently having not lost her fire for her day spent as an orcish slave.

“I am Chieftain Ur'shal, my lieutenant tells me you have something to discuss with me,” you grunt, resting your hands on your axe as you loom over the lamia.

“What I have to discuss with you, 'chieftain', is my release to return to my goddess,” the lamia snarls, spitting your title with undisguised vitriol.

“And why should I do that? You were taken as spoils of battle, it would be most disrespectful to the gods, and to the orc who you were awareded to, if I just let you slither off,” you snort.

“Because, chieftain, great Xipil will not react kindly to this act of war. You have already taken this compound from her...”

“I don't recall giving it to her,” Isyil yawns, earning a venomous glare from the messenger.

“You have already taken this compound from her and violated her messenger. But perhaps if I am allowed to return to speak with her, there may yet still be time for a resolution to this which does not involve your entire clan being scourged in holy fire,” the lamia snarls, eyes wide with no small amount of zealous fervor.

Xipil has certainly bred her cultists fearless, to stand up to you even in this situation. So what to do, chieftain, what to do?

Sending her back seems like kind of a horrible idea.
I mean, she'd obviously push for our "transgressions" being punished.

I am less certain as to whether we should contact Xipil yet.
We kind of have enough on our plate for the immediate future already and, while ignoring Xipil will defintely annoy her down the line, establishing contact could kick off trouble a lot sooner.

I'm still not really sold on diplomancing Xipil anyways, but if we do plan on that odds are our best hope may just be that we can sweep this under the rug anyways.

How the FUCK would she even learn that we took her envoy, and she didn't fall prey to a tribe of jungle beasts?
I wouldn't mind fucking her once real quick, to teach her a lesson, but I don't think that'd be polite, considering we already gave her away. hopefully her owner can keep her in line.
Before we answer her though,
>Taunt her into telling us of Xipil's capabilities by saying we doubt we should fear her, as we haven't heard any impressive feats from her.
>Ask how she'd make it back and how far it is subtly.
>Ask if she thinks everything in the jungle is Xipil's.

If we do plan to deal with Xipil diplomatically, we might as well approach the diplomacy like a professional.

I'm pretty sure magical restraints would be the thing.
Once we take out Slaggyr, establish trade with some places that have the sort of magical stuff we need, and we will probably find something that would work for our conquest of Xipil.

Also ask her how Xipil would learn of this thing anyway.

“Quite a lot of fire in this one, isn't there?” you laugh, Zo'rok and the two warriors chuckling at her tirade.

“Why should I fear Xipil and her little cult? I crushed this one easily enough,” you sneer, looming over the lamia.

“I wouldn't say crushed...” Isyil sighs, the messenger glaring up at you.

“Xipil's warriors outnumber yours five to one, and neither you, 'chieftain', not any of your followers can match the fury of the war goddess. You will all burn for these insults, mark my words.”

“Your words already bore me, lamia. You will not be returning to Xipil, you will be returning to your new master, and you'll put that fire to good use, bearing him many strong whelps for the clan,” you sneer, gesturing for the orcs to take her away.

“You'll regret this, all of you will,” the lamia screams as she's dragged away, struggling in vain against your warriors.

“The dragon won't like that,” Zo'rok smirks.

“She doesn't have to know.”

“Unless she already does, you know, magically.”

“If she already knows, then sending the messenger back wouldn't have made a difference either way. Let her master keep her, he earned it,” you grunt.

“Right. I'll make sure we have plenty of scouts down south keeping an eye out for Xipil's forces.”

>Let your clan celebrate until tomorrow
>Break camp, return home with your slaves and plunder

In regards to the questions not answered there, Ur already knows more or less where Xipil is based due to intelligence gained from elven slaves, and knows that Xipil is at most a few decades older than Slaagyr judging by eyewitness accounts of her size.

Guys, I have a few ideas :
Siege weapons. We need them to conquer the city states, maybe we should ask the dwarven slaves how to construct them?
We should use the information about the shapeshifter base to attack with fire and when they scurry to contain the flames, we attack.

“I think the clan's had enough time to enjoy themselves. Gather up the loot and slaves and let's head back,” you grunt.

“No problem, Ur,” Zo'rok nods, turning and heading out of the ruined temple.

You wander the camp overseeing your clan making ready to leave. Looks like your lieutenants have their hands full prying your clanmates away from the new slaves, especially the newest additions, many of whom you suspect haven't had a female in years.

“Ur,” Dru'ak rumbles in greeting, looking as close to happy as your stoic friend ever has as the honorguard forms up around you. You suppose he must be enjoying his new slave.

Soon the clan is assembled, the cult compound reduced to a gutted ruin as your warriors lead a procession of slaves laden down with loot back out into the jungle. It's going to be a fair few days march back through the jungle, and you'll have to keep an extra careful eye on the slaves to ensure none of them try to slip away on the journey.

You make good time through the jungle, your warriors staying alert to dangers from outside and the risk of slaves slipping away into the undergrowth. Your mates all make time to come up and speak to your during the journey, all, you suspect, fishing for praise for their part in the battle.

You've just finished assuring K'zala that there'll be plenty of time to reward her later when you're approached by Koz'rak, the lieutenant nodding to you and your mate as he approaches.

“Chieftain, we're being followed,” he grunts.

“How many?”

“Five, I think... didn't get a clear look at them, but they're definitely tailing us.”

You rub your chin, nodding to yourself. If the completely untrustworthy half-elf is to be believed, this could well be the adventuring party she spoke of.

“They're keeping a distance, for now anyway,” Koz'rak continues.

You send one of your warriors off to gather the others as you move back through your clanmates, meeting up with the rest of the group at the back of the raiding party.

“You chose wisely, chieftain, nothing these 'adventurers' have can match the great Bra'kur's power,” Bra'kur laughs, clapping his hands together with a crackle of lightning.

If he truly is an "adventurer" goblin, that means he is probably heroic tier in terms of power level. I mean, remember that story about that elf slave who got tons of orc bitches from using a bow well? I doubt this goblin's as good, but he would have some positive qualities one would look for in a mate.

Your logic is flawed. Just because it is possible for an orc woman to have a fetish for goblins does not mean that any of our females currently want to fuck a goblin.

“Best way to start a fight, when the other side doesn't know you're fighting. Zo'rok, K'zala, we strike first, then once the fight's started, Bra'kur, Dru'ak, you both come in from the other side and flank them.”

You sneak on a little ahead with your two stealthiest companions, slipping thorough the undergrowth as you approach the group. You first spy them in a small clearing, gesturing for your clanmates to stop as you peer out at them.

>>43578334
You don't understand words, it seems.
>It is a certainty that there is one=There must be one.
>I'm certain there is one=There is a chance that there isn't one, but I think there is one.
It's the difference between 100% and the desired 50%

The group is as Yselt told you. A jungle elf male leading the group, obviously having no trouble tracking an entire orcish raiding party. He's wearing light leathers, a shield made out of some sort of beetle shell over the back of one arm, a spear clutched in the other as he stalks through the jungle with a grim look on his sharp features.

Behind him trots the centaur you heard about. Her bottom half four-legged, hoofed, a mottled mix of black and white across its surface, Ku'zag told you the bottom half resembles a horse, but since you've never seen a horse before, you'll just have to take his word for it. The top half looks a great deal more human, fair-skinned and chestnut-haired, her features surprisingly delicate given her size and the toned physique of her human half. She looks a little frustrated traversing the jungle, her body ill-suited for the tangled plant life, hacking away at the hanging vines with a large, heavy sword.

Flanking her are the two humans of the group, one of a kind you haven't seen before, his eyes slanted, his skin a lighter and less rich brown than the elves. Dressed in some sort of armoured robes, he walks with his hands resting on a pair of curved blades at his belt, looking more annoyed than anything, occasionally pausing to sweep hair from his eyes.

On the other side comes the other female, less pale than your cragfolk slaves, lightly tanned and with blonde hair cut to just above the shoulder, the top of it hidden beneath a bandana. Dressed in padded armour of grey and tan, she rattles slightly as she walks, a wide array of knives, spare bolts and other objects jangling from various belts and straps about her person. She's carrying something similar to the weapons you've seen dwarves using, a crossbow you think it was called.

(cont)
>>
>>43578371
Finally, bringing up the rear of the group is the goblin, you're guessing. You don't know how such a tiny race can even survive as long as they have, the stunted adventurer barely visible above the undergrowth, and you suspect bringing up the rear in part just so that he can rely on his companions to trample a path for him.

Fortunately, while they are all keeping a close eye out, none of them have spotted you yet. Which means you have the first move.

“Zo'rok, you take down the female with the crossbow, I'll go for the centaur. K'zala, you take down the goblin, then the two of you attack the other two from the front,” you whisper, your clanmates nodding.

With Zo'rok and K'zala in tow, you circle around the adventurers, waiting for the right moment.

“So, hey, are we going to talk abot this?” the goblin asks, breaking the silence.

“About what?” the elf hisses, obviously none too happy with the sudden break of silence.

“About how fucking many orcs there were. No-one ever said there'd be that many orcs.”

“There are a lot more than we were told,” the human female shrugs.

“Orcs breed, it makes no difference. Once the chieftain dies, they'll fracture,” the elf replies, his tone decidedly less sharp than it was against the goblin.

“It's not like the chieftain's hard to spot, you just need to put a bolt in his brain and we can go home, easy payday,” the male human shrugs.

“I agree with Bootknife that we should reconsider our plan...” the centaur chimes in, earning a thankful grin from the goblin.

“...but that doesn't mean we should run away. This clan has already killed a lot of innocent people, and enslaved many more, it's our duty to...”

The goblin's grin fades, the human male groaning as he puts his face in his palm.

“Okay Cyl, we get it,” the human female sighs.

“That's enough talking, we don't want their scouts to hear us. We just need to wait for the chieftain to let his guard down,” the elf continues, turning back to end the conversation with a swipe of his hand.

Of course with all the attention on him, no-one is checking the flanks.

You burst from the undergrowth, crossing the distance to the adventurers in seconds. The human female spins with impressive speed, levelling her crossbow at you, for a moment you think you're about to catch a bolt in the neck, but her aim suddenly slips, the shot slamming into the trunk of a tree.

“Wh-wha?” she mumbles, staring dumbly at a small dart sticking through the thin armor on her arm.

You push straight past her, crashing bodily into the centaur as she hurries to turn, slowed by the tangled undergrowth, shoulder-barging her off of her feet down on her side with a shriek.

“If you're waiting for me to let my guard down, you'll be waiting a long time,” you sneer.

You hear an “oh shit” from the goblin and a clash of metal as he pulls out a dagger just in time to block K'zala's attack, the two of them exchanging a flurry of slices and stabs which just barely fail to connect as they circle.

“You, you die here,” the elf cries, charging at you.

You head a ear-splitting crack, the elf being knocked off course in his charge, bringing his shield up just in time to block the brunt of a arc of lightning. He rolls as he lands, already hopping back up to his feet, his shield charred and slightly split along the edge.

“We might have a problem, Akipu,” the male human shouts, as he ducks under Dru'ak's maul, the heavy block of steel splintering the branch above him, raining splinters down on the human.

The centaur is struggling to pick herself up, though even in her current state you probably shouldn't approach carelessly, her powerful legs kicking as she tries to tear her way free of the undergrowth, her sword still clutched firmly in her hand.

The human female isn't entirely down yet, despite the dart, though she seems to be having enough trouble standing up straight right now, as she fumbles for some bottle on her belt.

She would have to literally be imitating the whinnying of a real horse intentionally, and that sounds unexpected and unlikely, and quite frankly undesired.
I mean, maybe eventually I can see Ur ordering her to do that, if she's into that sort of thing or something. But not the first time she's taken and she's still resisting her new life as a slave.

You circle around the centaur as she curses, starting to tear herself loose of the undergrowth she's tangled up in, starting to roll up onto her feet. With her legs under her and no longer a threat, you step in, parrying an impressively strong strike of her sword on the blade of your axe.

Before you can follow up however, she swings again, gripping the sword two-handed, letting the blade arc around past your guard, just barely missing your arm as you step back, the centaur starting to pick herself up.

With a roar, you lunge forward again, catching her off balance just as she's getting her feet back under her, tearing the sword from her hands, the force of the blow flinging it off into the undergrowth out of sight. She rears back, and you sidestep the panicked kick, slamming the handle of your axe into the midriff of her human half, bringing her back down onto all fours with a pained gasp.

As the centaur staggers, clutching her stomach, you step round to one side of her, just behind her human half, wrapping a powerful arm around her neck, clamping down around the arteries. She gives a strangled yelp, scrabbling at your arm, but strong though her top half is for something with a puny human physique, she's still not strong enough to dislodge you, her feet stamping the ground as you bring all your weight down on her, her struggles getting weaker as she slips into unconsciousness.

Finally she goes limp in your grip, her full weight almost bringing you down with her before you let her go, dropping to the jungle floor unconscious.

You have to watch harpies closely. If you don't, they'll hatch diabolical schemes.
>>
>>43580479
You turn to see how the rest of the fight is going, finding the results to be... mixed. Zo'rok has brought down the human, and while it looks like she threw off the effects of the poison somehow, she made the foolish mistake of landing a few heavy blows on his enchanted shield with a handaxe, your old friend making sure to pin her down and bind her arms and legs before she could recover.

K'zala is still locked in combat with the goblin, neither seeming able to score more than superficial blows on each other, blackened marks of frostbitten skin visible along his arms while K'zala bleeds from a few cuts through her leather leggings.

Dru'ak also seems to be locked into something of a stalemate with the male human, his body thrumming with blue pulses of magical energy as he matches the massive orc blow for blow, Dru'ak looking more than a little frustrated by his inability to overpower the magically empowered human.

Bra'kur is keeping the elf at a distance, just barely, though the elf is proving too quick to strike with his lightning, and the sorcerer bears several nasty wounds from where the elf has drawn close enough to stab at him. The elf does seem to have lost his shield during the exchange however, and you suspect that at this stage it's as much luck as speed keeping him clear of your lieutenant's magic.
