She was so sick during the recording of shimoneta her producers had to help carry her to the recording studio and all staff who came in contact with her had to wear masks.

Anime trope/real thing. In cartoons, a character gets the cold and they are suddenly deathly ill as opposed to you know, just feeling like shit and having to take a fistful of otc medicine. I think that there may be a weak strain of influenza endemic to japan that accounts for people actually getting pretty ill irl which is compounded by chronic over work.

for real. I mean I know several people in their mid 20s who watch anime, or at least know about anime and don't think anything in particular about it. the only stigma is being one of "those" people that owns tons of dolls and body pillows and spends 95% of his time in a piss-bottle filled room.

but apparently watching anime and being a normal person are mutually exclusive in japan?
>>
>>43553544

>>
>>43553544
Doing a lot of things and being a "normal person" are mutually exclusive in Japan. As >>43553565 mentions, there's a strong stigma against otaku. To make it board related, it's part of why tabletop gaming isn't as big as it is in Japan: many people say it falls under the "otaku" umbrella, to say nothing of not having a lot of space to play.

Eh docs in the US hand out sick notes as well, though I suppose they aren't straight up required by most places unless you have missed a shit load of work already/are out of sick days.
>>
>>43553813
Most places let you call in sick first and then get a doctors note to excuse it.
Japan expects the note first and then you can call off without getting fired.
>>
>>43553831
Uh...Yeah. And they told me they needed a note from a doctor. Have you never called in sick?

Not him, but the only time I ever did was because I had a temperature of 104f.

>>
>>43553813
Uh, no.
At my old job (call center), you call a specific number to enter your information and confirm you're missing your shift. Then you just email your manager saying "hey I called out today cuz I'm sick."
>>
>>43553699
Declining birthrates is a literal first world problem.
>>
>>43553858
Yeah. You make a call, say that you're sick, and then send a follow up email. If you're missing a lot of work because of it, then you need a doctor's note but anything else is just wasting everyone's time.

The circle represents your max sanity which is based on a formula from a stat of your character. The fact that there are multiple circles indicates that the stat has either been raised or lowered.

The most likely result is lowered, as increasing your knowledge of the old ones presents a hard cap for your maximum sanity.

Having a slightly low body temp because you were wet and got a little cold doesn't actually get you sick. It's definitely a strongly believed old wives tale in Asian countries, but they get so badly sick because of their high density living, low social distance, low air quality, and high stress living, not a lack of central heat.
