Let's play a game

I placed 5 nodes in this grid and you have to find them
You can do that by telling me where to insert a ray from and I'll tell you where it comes out and how many times did it get reflected inside the grid

I'll post how a node reflects in the replies

>>
>>43537609
Ok I've now realised the set of rules is not comprehensive enough. So I'll just give my response based on my interpretation of it. We can later discuss it when you solve the board.

B up, 1 hit

Tabula rasa means clean slate :) It's just so that we can ctrl+f easily for new games in this thread.

Maybe I should reveal the board at this point, because this may be unfair to you, as you're playing by my interpretations. There are two cases I want to discuss with you. Should I reveal the board?
>>
>>43538003
Yes because I don't think I can figure it out

>>43538016
These are the two cases:

1. What happens if I position a node at the corner? One interpretation is the red arrow, and the other a blue one. The blue one, is the interpretation I followed, as it is the less confusing. For instance when you said "B down" if i said "1 right" (red arrow) you would've thought the node was in A2, when its really at A0. With my interpretation you don't know the node is there, because it doesn't deflect anything.

2. The second case is when I position 2 nodes adjacent to each other. By shooting from "C down" one wants to deflect right and the other will deflect back. Only one of them will actually hit (the one who's effect is followed by the beam). Again blue arrow was my interpretation.

What do you think?

About the node in the corner, it just reflects back as I have masterfully shown in the first drawing

About the second case (the second figure), I have no idea, maybe we should read the rules of the black box game if we find them
And about the third drawing, I talked about this case with my friend yesterday and we agreed that it reflects back but counts as 2 hits so we don't get it confused with reflecting on one node
>>
>>43538179
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Box_(game)
I find no reference to these 2 cases :(
>>
>>43538207
Let's go with what I said of the corner nodes, I think it works, don't you agree?
And about the second case we just shouldn't put two nodes right next to each other
>>
>>43538233
I don't mind. Letting it bounce back on the corner is just as misleading as letting it pass through without hits. In on case you will assume it is in a certain position when it is not, while in the other case you will have no idea it is there. We can use your suggestion.

Regarding the second point. The wikipedia page uses nodes next to each other in other to hide them. It seems a bit limiting not being able to put nodes next to each other. We should just define a rule and use it.
>>
>>43538280
Okay let's but I really have no idea how to define it so if you have anything, tell
>>
>>43538320
Well, then I suggest we use my interpretation of it. For adjacent nodes, the direct hit takes precedence over corner deflection, as I depicted. Only the direct hit counts (1 hit) as the effect from the corner is never applied.
