Not sure if threads like these are allowed here, but since /His/ does not allow generals and /int/ pruned the thread, we were wondering if we could stay here rather then /vg/, since we need people who know how to RP to keep the region growing and alive.

I am of the opinion that the setting should be tailored to each individual RP and we shouldn't have a grand permanent regional setting. Wouldn't it get boring to only ever be able to use cannons and muskets?

I suggest that we assume that there are no large constructions that facilitate navigation, like Suez and Panama, or the Gibraltar bridge or the Bahrain-Saudi bridge, you get the gist. That way we can RP the building of such things.It's just a suggestion.

Nationstates has no "war" aside from ones you role play, which makes up most of the game really. ( which is why we are on /tg/ not /vg/ Instead there are raids where nations takeover and invade other regions. And liberation to free said nations.

If early 20th century is your gig, I've got some good advice on manufacturing techniques and armor types. If you like the shine of the near future (like I do) then I've gotplenty of ideas for naval weaponry and strategic bomber designs (such as, don't listen to the heathens who say hypersonic bombers are impractical, they claim that you cannot search for targets when you are moving at Mach 8, but I response I ask, "who the fuck doesn't do reconnaissance before a major bombing campaign and preprogram targets into their gps guided glide bombs?") Finally, if you like the 19th century but are unaware of the coming of age of metal plated warships during the 1860s and the importance of extremely long range disappearing shore batteries, well I know a thing or two about those topics and can get you to be the most modern colonial power around.

On the topic of hypersonics, there are two methods of propulsion I would consider using in a hypersonic bomber (depending on whether you value fuel efficiency at the cost of high hypersonic speeds)
If you like the idea of going really fast but want more bang for your buck in terms of thermodynamic and fuel efficiency then a PULSE DETONATION ENGINE may be right for you. It has few moving parts which lowers maintenance costs as long as you are using high end materials in construction. It also can reach up to around Mach 5.5 in theory. If extremely high speed is more your thing and money is not a problem, then may I suggest a dual cycle turbojet (or turbofan if I could think of a way to make it work)/ scramjet engine. While there would be many more moving parts in the turbojet itself (including an added function to allow it to duct itself off before switching to scramjet powered hypersonic flight) the scramjet itself would have 0 moving parts. Additionally it would be capable of speeds approaching Mach 12 (a scramjet could theoretically reach Mach 24 but it would be suicidal to make a bomber go that fast)! Incredible right? In both cases, heavy investment into material research would be required as hypersonic flight in atmosphere causes incredible amounts of heat buildup along the leading edges of an aircraft.

Also, if you're country wants to get into space, my territory includes Marshall Space Center and Cape Canaveral. If you want to launch with rockets of my design, I can let you do so for around 500 million- 3.5 billion depending on payload class and rocket size. I think I want the California region, especially if the pacific islands are taken, but I'm not sure how much. Could be the whole pacific coast south of Alaska down to Sonora, and all the way to the Rockies, could be just California itself. NationStates stats tell me I have 2.59 billion people, which would be bigger than the whole US if we compare to real world populations.

The effects of a nuclear blast in the upper atmosphere of Jupiter could be fascinating and give insight into the exact composition of its atmosphere as well! Funny story about an RP, in a non NS related RP which took place in a high school (first flag that something is fucky) I created a well crafted character with reasonable powers and a fun backstory. So when I got into the RP I immediately realized it was made up of ACTUAL high schoolers. The (*grabs by the throat* FUCK YOU SHE'S MY GF) kind of idiocy was extremely prevalent. I made one or two posts attempting to steer the RP in a fun direction, but it was basically like trying to teach rocketry to a toddler. I gave up on RP for a bit and then I found the one of the first of these threads on /int/. I am assuming you are all adults/ mature underage b&s who are mentally capable of REAL RPing. So I have high hopes and plan on being an active member of the region.

Mine is Centrist to the extreme. Benevolent Dictatorship, but encourages people to actually wield weapons and train, has a by-city based Militia that conducts it's own operations with little involvement in others save for Delegates to the other Militia.
Also; the Militia is mostly called when the Policing Force needs more numbers in conducting their operations. They're considered a military branch of their own, along side the Clovinian Air Force, Clovnian High-Fleets, and the Clovinian Army.

We are going to be doing more than one RP correct? I'd be fine with our initial RP taking place circa WW1/WW2 (since that is what the poll for our setting is hinting at right now) but I'd like for us to be able to have things like cooperative space flight. We could even build a space station together on KSP with that multiplayer mod they have.
