You are minotaurs, a race of beastmen forged in the hands of Tauros, the god of strength and virility. Your men are strong and competitive, your females are rare and willful, and your young are tough and brazen. Now, your people are striving to create another great herd that is true in the image of mighty Tauros.

Population: 30 males, 12 females, 15 children
Resources: Berry Slings (3), Studded War Clubs (10), Forged Axes (4), Ragged Winter Clothing, Clay Vases (7)
Food: Plentiful, but lacking variety

So last thread we entered the valley, made some slings to carry the delicious berries that are fucking everywhere (for now), crossed a great river and made it to the top of of a rocky outcropping with a ruined temple and a cellar at the top, and we added a nice log roof to the temple.

So, after looking at the last thread here's how things will work: You have 2 rolls total per turn. Those rolls can be dedicated between Actions (d20) and Researches (d100) depending on what you guys want to do. I'll roll for everything after a consensus is made and then write it up.

I'll follow this post with the dedication of the temple, which you guys decided to be done with a wrestling competition and an orgy. So yea fun stuff.
>>
You decide to dedicate the temple to Tauros through a series of wrestling bouts between your bulls. A section of the campground is cleared of the overgrown stones that still litter the area as an impromptu arena. Your females begin be marking stones with various symbols, with each symbol having two rocks marked with it. The bulls draw lots with the two bulls with matching stones being each others opponent. The fighting is fierce, limbs are twisted, bodies are thrown, and the forest echos with the cheers of the herd. At the end of the contests, each victorious male is chosen by a female, who then head into the temple to consummate.

In the morning, rays of sunlight pierce through the openings of the wooden roof and shine upon your females. It is decided that this is a sign from Tauros himself, and that your females are now pregnant and will give birth next Spring.

The herd wishes to celebrate but there is too much work to be done in your new home.

Hay OP, sorry to see your usual players arn't here. Do you happen to have a twitter, I just saw this quest.
>>
>>43521270
Nope no twitter. I probably should be making one of those though. Regardless, I'm available to run almost every Tuesday and Thursday though and thought I'd throw this one up today since I'll be able to work on it all day without interruptions.

Rolling for foraging
>>
>>43521617
Your bellies grumble and the fires are slowly burning out, you decide to dedicate the day to foraging for food, firewood, and anything else you can find. Your women and children descend from the campsite in search of more of the sweet berries with a few bulls going as protection. The forest surrounding the ruins has yet to be explored but it does seem surprisingly peaceful. Thankfully you find great numbers of the berries, and filly your slings. After returning to the camp you dump them in two of the vases. It isn't much, but at least you have a way of storing them safely now.

While the others searched for berries the rest of your bulls desire a shrine to their God. Shrines of Tauros vary in size and nature, but some of your herdmembers think that the stone altar inside of the temple is perfect for a shrine. Others believe that totems should be erected throughout camp so that He may keep a watchful eye over the people. Still, others think something else might be appropriate and various ideas are tossed about throughout the night.

>How and where do you build the shrine to Tauros?

Let's fortify the camp a bit, maybe start on some defenses.

what kind of research would be available to us?

You have some forged axes and war clubs but you found the clay vases in the cellar.

So yea you're pretty low tech, not that you don't have the knowledge of different crafts, just that you don't have a lot of the tools necessary to exploit that knowledge.

Also try and decide how you want to handle the Shrine. It may or may not lead you to getting different boons from Tauros, as well as leading you to your first hero. I'm just trying to get the ball rolling as more people pop in

After much discussion, and a few friendly sparring sessions, it is decided that totems shall be erected throughout the camp. One will be placed at each of the three entrance paths, two at the entrance to the temple ruins, and one watching over the training arena, for a total of six totems throughout the camp. The bulls are put to work felling trees to be carved into poles, and the women begin to work on various talismans and icons to display on the totems.

During this, a team of bulls is sent out to check the immediate area for anything of interest. You find more streams and many boulders, but you also find something else. Large tracks from some sort of biped a ways off from camp, an attempt was made to track it but the trail was lost when the creature crossed one of the many rivers in the area. Other than that, there seems to be nothing of interest in the vicinity aside from some more overgrown stonework.

A few of the children have ventured down into the forest (without an escort mind you) and have come back with some uprooted berry bushes which they then planted near the southern path. The bulls don't have much faith in the poor plants surviving but do admit that it's something they hadn't thought of.

As the sun sets, the totems are put into place. As the hole is dug for the final totem overseeing the arena something odd is found. It seems to be the steel head of a hammer. It is incredibly heavy and seems to be in relatively good condition for being stored underground. Surely this is some sort of sign. A leader must be chosen.

After the discovery of the hammer head the bulls decide that some sort of challenge must be made. At first, they are ready for another wrestling competition but are quickly dissuaded by the women who have another idea. With the discovery of something else in the area the desire for extra protection is growing. It is then declared that walls will be built and the bull who gets the most done by himself shall take the hammer head and shall begin crafting it into a mighty weapon. The bulls set out, some with axes and others with their bare hands. Some trees are chopped and others are toppled over after the bulls repeatedly charge into them. After many hours and many trees are felled, a wooden palisade is raised. Every section of is good quality and make the campsite much more secure. One of the bulls, Doros, has distinguished himself in the construction. He not only put up more parts of the wall than any other bull, but his portions are of superior quality. He is handed the hammer head, and declared chieftain. He then set out into the forest to craft his weapon.

While the bulls built the wall, some of the women set off to the river, knowing that more food would be needed for the upcoming winter and therefore more storage. They were surprised how quickly they found clay, which was then scooped up and brought to the campsite. Carefully the clay was kneaded into vases, very similar to the ones you found in the cellar. They were set near the fire to harden since there was no kiln. After a few hours, the vases were hardened and ready, and set in the cellar. The women complained at the lack of a kiln, since they had to manually sit and rotate the vases near the fire so they hardened evenly.

Gained: 6 vases

The following day you keep the focus on supplies. Your women gather berries and your men gather firewood. Your women complain that you only have 2 berry slings. You'd make more, but you're lacking leather or some other similar material. Regardless, they fill two vases with berries. Sadly this has completely depleted the berries surrounding the camp, and they will have to venture further away next time. You also have more than enough firewood, but your forged axes are getting rather dull. You'll have to sharpen them somehow.

Your bulls, seeking to gain the favor of the women, have constructed a basic kiln in the corner of the campsite. It's made out of the many loose stones that litter the area and will do the job much better than setting it by the fire.

Doros has returned from the wilderness a new bull. He walks with a confident stride and wields the finished warhammer with a handle of carved wood. He also claims to have seen more evidence of the bipedal creature that your scouts saw evidence of earlier in the week. He has found what he thinks is a trail commonly used by the beast, but he returned instead of following it.

>Do you follow the trail? If so, how do you prepare?
>>
>>43524102
Yep, follow it! Get, i dunno, half the bulls? Try and act peacefully if you find anything. But be alert, if shit goes down rip and tear

It is decided that half of the bulls, including Doros, will follow the tracks. Every bull is armed with either a war club or a dull axe, with Doros leading from the front with his warhammer. They march through the forest keeping watch on anything that could be lurking into the depths of this forest. They follow the path for a many hours and eventually reach its end. It is a great cave entrance with various footprints and dragmarks leading into the depths of it. Your bulls search the area but find nothing of note.

>Enter the Cave? If so, what's the plan?

The better you are organized (plan of retreat, marching order, spacing) the better things will go if shit goes sour.
>>
>>43524102
>>43524187
addendum: give it some space when we do find it.
There's not many animals that are friendly when cornered in its own den.
>>
>>43524549
Don't enter the cave, but leave sign that we were here. The creature should either leave out of fear of us. Failing that, we can always come back later.
>>
>>43524590

Backing this. Lets leave some kind of signal for the creature and then come back the next day with more preparation.
>>
>>43524590
I say we do that then come back in like a week and investigate
>>
>>43524590
Yeah, this! We should also sharpen our axes with some stones. Not the best but...
>>
>>43524756
>>43524673
>>43524590
The bulls prepare to head into the cave but stop after looking over their rather pathetic weaponry and armor. They instead decide to leave a sign of their presence in the form of a totem planted in front of the cave entrance. Deciding that this should be enough for now, the bulls return to the camp.

They are welcomed back with trouble. The cellar where the children were sleeping has become to small for the rambunctious youths and the berry vases. They've already cracked two of them. Something else needs to be arranged here.

Also, two of the bulls that you left got into a heated argument which turned into a brutal fight inside the temple. While blood has been shed, the injuries aren't serious. The people are beginning to think that some laws are needing to be put in place around camp.

>Actions and Researches

Move the pots out of the cellar into the first floor of the temple.

Punishment for unruly behavior is community service: both brawling bulls must now construct a pantry closet out of timber for berry vases.

Meanwhile, ask the cows for sharp rocks or something that could be used for sharpening axes.

I'll roll a d20 for each of these, take what you want.
