You're not going to be able to take advantage of the antelope drops for a while, since they require stone circle and there isn't anything notable in Weaponforge relating to antelope drops.
However, antelope encounters are your best chances for getting acanthus, and dried acanthus can be helpful during the Butcher.

We have our boss with combo fighter (+1 roll on perfect hit) timeless eye (perfect hit on 9-10) and monster claw style to try and make the perfect unarmed fighter. The trouble is, KD is a bit odd in terms of scale. Being more realistic, as well as a little larger than the standard stuff. :)
Infinity should be fairly close, and I think Malifaux might manage, though that is a little more "heroic" scale, so the proportions won't be perfect. Perhaps Mierce Miniatures will work well, that's ~30-32mm too, rather than a more standard 28mm.

yes, Mierce miniatures are not cheap by any means. Though their newly kickstarted metal minis aren't too bad. Their resin stuff is fantastic, but quite costly.
I own quite a few of their big models. From their original kickstarters they were reasonably affordable. :)
Don't want to think about the total retail value of all those Mierce models though, because that's going to be a big number.

Sadly I had the issue with the store where I had to buy them all separately. I put in a ticket to get the order combined to reduce shipping but I still haven't had a response, and it's obviously too late.
Welp, just got a shipping confirmation e-mail for a couple orders that I'd asked that they combine cause their website was fucking up and not letting me check out everything at once...

Has anybody tried tweaking the 5-6 player variants? We're a gaming group of 5 but on average one is out on a given night. I'd like to get our fifth in on our settlement if everyone can make it next week, but the given rules don't adjust for number of players or Monster level - just "+2 damage, +1 speed and life". Even for the Level 1 Lion? Even for the goddamn prologue Lion? That makes every single hit potentially lethal to a starting survivor. And it doesn't adjust for five or six - just a straight buff. I'd rather not just bring an extra survivor.
I've seen some fan tweaks on bgg, but wondered what /kdm/ thought. Am I bitching and just need to git gud?

The more balanced success I've found so far is just using Life attribute.
+25% of the monster's AI deck count applied as Life Attribute per extra survivor, rounded up. (or additional Life if they already have the Life attribute)
For rewards, I've been doing +1 basic resource per extra player. It hasn't put them that much farther ahead, since there are still plenty of ways to lose resources. They might need those extra few resources once they chase after harder targets, since the +25% Life can become more than the standard max of +5 Life. (A L3 lion vs 6 survivors carries an extra 11 life on it, nothing to sneeze at certainly)
I've only really been able to test this on L1 encounters that have 10AI, but it seems to be the safest balance of adjusting difficulty and the players able to have a reasonably good time with the game. I have a feeling that I'll need to raise rewards more for higher level monsters.
That normal +2 damage on 5-6 mode simply makes even the prologue lion too strong for the encounters, and that +1 movement too hard to make tactical options available. Modding the AI deck to be larger becomes too dangerous as well.

The tray is reinforced with small bits of cardboard that easily slip out without a bottom to hold them in, and it becomes heavy and awkward to remove once it's filled up.

Anyway, I got the putty onto the copper wire teeth base and deepened the nostrils just a little bit. It's still not glued in but I think I'm going to try and prime the mouth and paint it before gluing it in. I'll put tape over the head (Cone of Shame!) before I prime the rest of the lion -but before that, I'm going to need to do a fair amount of putty work...

Those are affinities. Say a gear card has a special rule that only comes into effect at two green squares. That means that you need to combine two green squares anywere on your gear grid. If it is two green puzzle pieces then it means those green boxes must be connected to the gear card in question that has that special rule.

Far from it. The squares are affinities, and they're key to unlocking some of the gear's abilities. If they have rules next to a square of a colour, you need to complete by having that colour touching that colour somewhere in your grid. If it's a coloured puzzle you need to complete the affinity TOUCHING that card.

The dragon king is, from what I understand, one of the assured expansions that should be up for sale after the third wave of shipments go out (wave 2 is currently close to being shipped out).
The core game will be available to purchase in the company's online store on November 27th, I think. As for individual models, most of them are currently sold out, but I'd keep an eye out for Black Friday, as there will probably be several that get a temporary restock. Metal minis do a fair amount of bending themselves depending on the metal used. For example I find Infinity models a bit pliable than the old GW metals and reaper stuff. Which can be good or bad really.
Painting is the same.
Faces are always a bit hit or miss, but a good paintjob can actually help a bad face look ok.

Currently that's all they have left that they are selling. As mentioned further up the thread, the next most likely time that something new and some re-releases will be put up will be Thanksgiving and/or Black Friday, followed by Christmas/New Years.

Not the anon you are responding to, but I will say that even if they aren't making more work for themselves, they do give that impression, and the way they did things recently has not exactly gone over well with customers that are feeling a bit left out.
There are people that have sent tickets for missing Wave 1 and 2 shipments, there have been delays on pre-orders, and Wave 3 is going to be going out soon - with all the complications that entails on its own. But over Halloween they showed off six new models for sale. That is six new molds to produce, minis to cast, and orders to take, file, and ship.
To people missing products, or that don't hear back from customer service, they probably feel left out in the cold or ignored by the fact that KD seemingly has time to go and do all these new things, seemingly at the expense of existing issues and orders.
In reality, I'm sure the new models were planned and made long ago, and are quite removed from the team currently working on fulfilling existing orders, but to the average consumer, it appears quite a bit more poorly. On Facebook you have people pissing and moaning that they have waited since September for their pre-order with no email in sight (the poor things...), and others angrily ask why new waves of both new and encore minis are being offered when the company hasn't fixed or responded to a 2-month outstanding mispack ticket they submitted.
They can stand to improve on a few things, although I do feel for them. They are a small company that had a massive surge in popularity these past three years, and nerds can be some of the most particular customers out there. I certainly don't envy them.

Before the Kickstarter, they had some great response times and as good customer service. I've had miscasts on my Thief and Flower Witch, and they sent me replacements for all the parts that were miscasts.
During the Kickstarter fulfillment, they're kind of being swamped by your normal QC issues except magnified a multitude of times due to the number of people they have to ship out to.
And then they had the site-wide issue where no one could combine their shipments.
I contacted them twice for the combining shipments thing and after they didn't respond to the first one, they responded to the 2nd one with a refund of all but one of the shipping fees.
Then I had a miscast Fighter, so I've e-mailed them again in regards to that.
Hoping that it doesn't fall through the cracks.

I'm in the UK and got my tracking number AFTER the box had arrived. I think a lot of the delays with the main-box deliveries have been down to the local shipping companies that they're getting to do them.

Simple enough. I would rather they keep releasing models, shipping things separate, and getting through orders a bit piecemeal than have them still just working on kd:m. This world isn't one where if poots just worked on kd:m everyone would be happy, and it certainly isn't one where just working on kd:m would make it come faster.

Might look like it, but this is hard for us as customers to tell. I doubt that if the Halloween releases weren't coming out, the KD team would have worked the KS kinks out faster. In fact, they waited during the whole Wave 1 shipping timeframe to put stuff on the store, so my guess is no.
Also remember that this is a worldwide operation run by what was pretty much a metaphorical guy in his garage up until this project.

Most board games don't come with this quantity of high-quality models. For the models alone, KDM has that value with the bonus of coming with a pretty decent game.
If you look at it from a boardgame perspective, most boardgames that aren't classic walmart trash cost around $75. A bit pricey, but the $400 game was designed to be played for longer timeframes.
If you look at it from an rpg perspective, D&D books are typically $50 each and you generally need at least three of them. Then you pay more money for specialty dice. Then there are miniatures if your group wants something a bit more than penny tokens to represent their characters and enemies. (if you buy from WotC, $16 for 4 random prepainted rather-ugly models)
So yes, KDM is a bit expensive, but it's not overvalued for what it is. It's a group activity, so if you have friends interested, ask them to pitch in for the costs if possible.

CMoN is the one who dropped the ball, and that is why SPM promptly cut all ties with them, and created Ninja Division. Forgotten King came out with only a 1 month delay on wave 1, and kept AMAZING communication going the entire time, posting every single week, even if the only news was "There is no news, so let's go more in depth on how some of the monsters fight together."
NAS, while not yet delivered, is shaping up to be about the same as FK, and SDE:L has such streamlined pledges that they won't need a middleman to pick out and sort all the extra addons, and will be putting out a PDF version of their play test documents for people to start using about a month after the KS ends.Speaking of, SDE: Legends has less that 48 hours left on it, so if you like campaign based dungeon crawlers, check it out asap.
