D&D

>Fighters and Paladins
>Wizards
>Owlbears

That's a fucking retarded mixture that can nonetheless made tolerable with a large enough world to ensure all of those disparate concepts are kept apart most of the time. Otherwise you get D&D.

There's a desert.
Two civilisations exist, one at the north, one at the south.
Northern civilisation has knights. Warriors who use straight swords and heavy armor.
Southern civilisation has samurai. Warriors who use katanas and heavy armor.
Northern civilisation has paladins. Warriors who derive magical power from their faith in an ideal.
Southern civilisation has wizards. Individuals that derive magical power from their understanding of the universe.
In the middle is a vast wasteland where not much can grow. It is filled with deadly monsters and the like. Kind of like Australia. These monsters would kill ordinary people with ease if they got close, so the safest way to kill them when they assault frontier towns is a gun. Enter cowboys.
Easy
>These people use swords and armor
>These people also use swords and armor
>These people use guns
>These people use magic
>Some even *gasp* mix it up
>They're are also some nasty beasts running around, that the above groups fight all the time to keep their homes safe. People don't split hairs over how, as long as the monster gets its shit pushed in.
Done.
