>All "established" corps using latin to name things
>All "new" corpse using japanese to name things
>Because they're the two best known dead languages in setting

>Breakthroughs in Graphene have brought swords back
>Wakizashi's are the current sidearm of choice for police and self-defense
>Guns were outlawed, so people when back to swords
>Advances in organ regeneration also means they're not super deadly unless you're really trying.

What other weeb shit could you put into a near future sci-fi and still stomach it /tg/?

I'm all for Neuromancer-esque Japan shit, as long as there's some in-universe reason for it. Shadowrun does this *somewhat* well by giving an alternate timeline bullshit reasoning for it. But no way would katanas come back unless WWII Imperial Japan took over the world or some shit

You need to explain this nonsense better. Is this your homebrew game?

The last line is the point

In your near-future sci-fi/cyberpunk things, what weeb elements are present?
(with the thought of the 80s being that Japan would take over the world - more culturally and economically than militarily - and the reality of the last two and a bit decades, that they didn't)
>>
Watch some 80's anime, I guess.

You forgot psychics. Gotta love some psychics.

Why have they abandoned batons?
>Guns were outlawed, so people when back to swords
Those are already illegal in lots of places, they aren't going to be less so once they're useful
>Advances in organ regeneration also means they're not super deadly unless you're really trying.
And if they're not useful no one is going to use them anyway.

People acting in self defense generally just want the aggressor to stop attacking them. The ability to shank them and call an ambulance to put them back together is appealing to them.
