PREVIOUSLY in DRAGON QUEST:
You, HERO, have embarked on a journey to slay DRAGON, who has destroyed VILLAGE. You went to CITY to gather information and learned about MAGIC SWORD, a legendary weapon that will be of great use against DRAGON. You learned that FLOWER GIRL is actually ELF, who wants to restore peace between dwarves and elves. You have agreed to help her in exchange for guidance to where MAGIC SWORD resides in FOREST. You also purchased several spells and a couple of high quality weapons, namely the SLADE SLEDGEHAMMER and the FOUR-LEAF CLOVER TREE FOCUS, to prepare for the fast-approaching confrontation with DRAGON. You are at MOUNTAIN, after being chased by a massive beast out of FOREST.

"We need MITHRIL to make peace with the dwarves."

"We would give you the MITHRIL, but it was stolen by the fairies. If you can get it back, we'll let you keep it."

Seriously? That's way different from "Please help us retrieve the MITHRIL." One implies that they would like to make peace with the dwarves, the other implies they don't give a fuck.

And if they don't give a fuck, this peace most certainly will not last.
