Not really a singular act of rage but a long-standing irritation. My friends has been playing various RPGs for about 9 years, but one of them who I have to say is one of my best friends and I would never kick from the group has always been an issue with his character choices. Now they're never mary sue annoying characters they do stupid shit all the time. What he does is he never plays a character the flows well with the group almost to the point of consciously choosing to take something that doesn't synergize. He never tries to make them the main character or even have a focus on them. I DM'd a campaign one time and tried to force his character to be the main character and he tried as hard as possible to keep his character in the background. when NPCs would ask his opinion on thing that has character would definitely have opinions on he would say he didn't. Justina how are group works in just by circumstance he tends to be the last person to make his character, that in and of itself isn't annoying at all because there's clear reasons why. including that myself and the forever GM and his gf who plays live together so it's usually either him or our other player that makes his character last. What happens I was when everybody's got a clear idea of what the group will need he will still do his own thing and make something that doesn't help. Say we were playing a game where we needed the last person to make a sniper, he would make a hand to hand combat specialist or a non-combatant. We need a talker he makes the combat focus strong silent type. A game of charismatic smugglers he plays a non-combatant politician. It's not a huge deal I guess I just wanted to contribute.

A girl who DMed for me a few years back once threw a catastrophic shit fit in a bar because she lost a game of darts. Like crying and screaming, it was completely embarrassing. I was lucky enough to be on the outside of a group of about 6-7 people so I could casually walk away like I wasn't there and I spent the rest of the night trying to pick up girls.

He also always tries to stay in the background of the group. This is about my rage, but also about a friend's rage. We both got quite upset at the situation.
See, he wanted to run a game of D&D. I sent him a few mediafire links to copies of my backups of the books he'd need, but he wouldn't take them, said that all torrents were viruses.
Read that again. "Mediafire links." "Torrents." Does not compute, right? Yeah, that was my response. So, I'm confused, maybe a bit annoyed, as he starts lining out that he wants me to backseat DM for him. At this point, though, I'm hurting for a game, and I'm tired of haunting the DM chair, so I say yes, if reluctantly.
He doesn't want to do any work on the world. Doesn't want to do any work on the session. Doesn't want to do anything, just waves his hand, says he's, "got this," and ignores it. Game day rolls around, and shit goes South pretty quick. I'm the only one with a finished character, and I'm helping two other people make characters. To call it a clusterfuck would be an insult to clusterfucks, from my experience.
One of them wants to play a Bo9S class, from what he says, and I go to help that guy, because those classes are kinda bookkeeping heavy. Turns out it's a highly rated custom class made by someone on dandwiki. I can already feel the headache buzzing at the base of my skull. Thankfully the other player just wants to play a Ranger, so I have some normalcy to look forward to after this is over, but high holy fuck.

So, that Ranger's player? A good friend. Doesn't want to DM, ever. Too OCD for it, would have to have every single thing planned out, doesn't improv well, etc. Not too much of a surprise that he wants to play a character that's a sibling of his last character(a cleric). Familiar territory is a running theme with him. Also familiar territory with him? Idle chatter. Dude has no off switch. Pretty good during a game, because it gives some levity, or adds to what's already been said. He even occasionally pulls a Star Trek-grade Technobabble Translation.
And I know what you're thinking: "Everyone's done, game can start," right? Nope. There's one big thing that's not been said yet. Since I'm done, DM's trying to run my character through the opening of the campaign, pre-meet-up, while I'm helping everyone else make theirs. Yeah, the DM was planning on letting everyone run through a solo bit until they met up somewhere.
I won't get into mine, it's pretty standard, and aside from me having to help him, nudge him a bit, and remind him that I'm doing three things at the same time, it went pretty okay. Even if it did seem like he was pulling a severe Kick The Dog with my character.
This is where it gets bad. We're running via IM. He won't tell me what's actually going on, but demands answers to questions I have no basis or context with which to answer. And I mean this like: he asks for something; I ask him what, exactly, he needs, context, etc; he refuses to give it, demanding that I just give him the answer for a few replies until he finally just breaks down and gives me the info I need.
Repeat that for about half an hour, and you have the Ranger's solo section. Which was a bar fight, a walk through town before dealing with guards, and ending outside the gates of the city we were in, sending his animal companion, a hawk, on a fly-over. Seriously.

So, Good Friend's chattering because DM's taking forever to get back with what he needs to roll or do and isn't really hearing me tell him that I'm busy, DM's being a dick, and I'm playing unwilling puppet master to all this shit. What about fourth guy?
Well, what about fourth guy? Fourth guy's turn comes up, and he's an edgy character, breaking into the Big Bad's hideout. Yes, really. DM let him start in the Big Bad's hideout. I remember the breaking point very clearly:
The DM asks me what Fourth Guy needs to roll to get behind an iron door. I am baffled, because that makes no sense. He's not having it, and just wants a damn answer to a question that has so little context that it may as well end with a period and be a non-sequitur. I finally get some of the context out of him: The door is leaning against the wall, and there should be enough room for him to fit. That's Escape Artist, easy enough.
Also not enough of an answer, but he won't say why for a good few minutes. It's across the room from Fourth Guy's character. Does he need to stay hidden? No answer for a minute, followed by a non-answer. I press again, starting to get mad, and get another non-answer.
I've been avoiding the main chat, since it's not my turn because I'm a player and I don't need to know what's going on in there just yet. Not in-character, at least, and DM's been saying that he'll tell me what I need to know.
That's fallen through, so, into main chat I go, with an explanation that I've been answering questions to the point of basically running the campaign for him, that he isn't telling me what I need to know to answer them, and then asking what exactly is going on.
I immediately learn two things: First and foremost is that the thing that's actually going on is that the BBEG threw an iron door off its hinges to show off how big and bad he is, and Fourth Guy wants to move across the room, behind the fallen door, without being spotted, so he can tip it over on top of BBEG.

The second thing I learn is that DM, when a boat starts sinking, will start kneecapping people so he can take them down with him. I am told that I am full of shit, that I'm lying, and everyone else is told that I have no idea what I'm talking about and just to disregard everything I just said. He then starts railing into me in the private chat about...
... I'm sure it was about fucking something, but I was, at that point, pissed as all hell, and it may as well have been him typing definitions out of a dictionary for all the good it did him. He gets just as much of an earful from me, about how he was asking questions I couldn't answer, because there wasn't enough context to them, and when I asked for it, I got either no answer, him being a huffy little shit, or a non-answer. And then I logged out and, the next time I logged in, I made sure it was while I was showing as still not logged in, and just played the, "I'm not talking to you," game for, like, a week, until I cooled off.

There's a lot of different reasons. Most of it is the fact that almost all of the people that play D&D, or TTRPG in general, are in a demographic that has very little influence on the world around them. High school age geeks and nerds, for example. They can't do anything about the people that fuck with them on a daily basis, and that just piles up. The ones that can't deal with anger well eventually just snap.
