If Minotaur rely to some extent on females of other races to produce, what exactly comes out? Are their genes very dominant or is it a half breed?

After a long journey across the world your tribe decided by vote, need, and, desperation to settle in the shadow of a great mountain. The soil is black with stone with the vegetation hardy. But there is food and shelter to be had with those with the motivation to take it.

You are down to your last female but she is far from unprotected. Fifteen fully grown and ready Bulls are ready to put down roots and rebuild.

The sun is hot and the work is hard. The earth does not want to provide easy food stuffs. The day is all but wasted. In your efforts however, your tribe finds an underground aquifer that provides some water but not nearly enough.

The last of the good is eaten soberly on the ground worked. Something must be done or the tribe is finished. As the sun sets, gold and red clouds as a painting, smoke begins to rise from the top of the mountain.

Far from the camp there is a small stand of trees found by random chance. Tall and strong they would make good building materials Alas, you do not possess tools to chop down the best trees. Never the less, your tribe manages to bring back some of the smaller trees relying on their brute strength to uproot them and drag them back to the clearing.

It rains during the night. Moving to the clearing has already paid off. The grass prevents flooding and Minituars taking shelter in the scrub stay warm.

Capitalizing on the finds they made from whomever made this camp, one bull managed to create a crude axe. Wedging the salvaged axe blade, with a great effort, into a branch the bull known as Red held up his creation for all to see. The axe head is small, seemingly developed for a tiny race. But this matters not. Venturing back to the stand of trees the Bulls fell a large tree. It took much effort to return it to camp. But the red meat of the tree and its bark keep insects away.

Following up on Red's success our female, Babe, develops an equally crude spear in much the same way. Its point is far too small but still can pierce given the Tribe's great strength.

The tribe is having a restful day. Which is needed after yesterday's work of dragging the large red tree to the clearing. The berries and edible plants in the scrub are sustaining, but not as tasty or satisfying as meat. But what can be done?

>Grazing: No food storage loss for today

The rest of the day is spent talking, laughing, and feeling more like a tribe than a group of individuals barely surviving. Everyone is much more relaxed and at ease than they were the past few days. The scrub echos with the deep laugh of Minotaur laughter. Snorts and grunts follow as the Bulls prove their strength to each other in friendly contests. As a result, more clearing is made.

The sun sets over a cloudless horizon. All is well.

During the night a very talkative Bull by the name of Glug Glug undergoes fits in his sleep. A large red thing is talking to him, specifics he cannot recall. But it means them no harm, in fact it means the opposite. Glug Glug wakes up in a cold sweat as the rest of the tribe slumbers and works with speed and skull that are not his own. A totempole as tall as he is sticks out of the ground in the center of the clearing. On the top is a large Minotaur head, under that is a bear, and the base is a rock. All are carved out of the large red tree resting in camp.

Glug Glug falls asleep... his dreams are not any clearer, but whatever it is that spoke to them means to help his tribe. Yet he feels different. How? That is unsure. But certainly different.

The Tribe wakes slowly, all standing around the Totem Pole. Rumors and whispers are non stop. That is until Glug Glug stand in front of his tribe. Spinning a tale of victory, honor, sacrifice, and hardship the Tribe falls silent. Even Glug Glug does not know what he is saying, the voice may be his but the words are not. As the story reaches its climax the stone at the base of the totem pole carved from wood cracks, then begins to smoke until naught of the carving remains but cinders and ash!

In its place is a large chuck of metal with small gems dotting it, each glowing a soft red. As Glug Glug looks down at what his creation became, the tips of his horns flash and become covered with the same metal.

A few of the Bulls become facinated with Glug Glug's new and strange look and powers. He set small fires accidentally throughout the day. These Bulls along with Glug Glug make a pilgrimage towards the smoking mountain. According to Glug Glug it calls to him. There is no argument, they are just let go.

At the same time Ludwig the Crazed sneaks away to check on the berries he planted several days ago. Much to his surprise they have already spouted and are looking healthy. The ground is still wet from the rains or the underground aquifer leaking to the surface.

Glug Glug, Knot, and Anonymoose all put their heads together to construct the mouth of fire their God showed them. Wood burns too easily and the black sand where they first camped does not have enough strength to maintain shape. Their day is wasted attempting various, but ultimately fruitless options. However, their attempts inspired other Minotaurs to find something that would be practical to make the mouth of fire out of. They set off towards the mountain in the morning.

While this is happening Babe leads several Bulls in making a shelter for the calves that are to be born. Soon she will not be able to work and must finish quickly. They lean the trees against one an other to create a simple lean to structure. It provides basic protection from the elements. They cover this with leafy branches to isolate it from the cold.

>Technology: Simple Hut

In the evening the Bulls who ventured towards the mountain return with stones and black, volcanic mud. It dries hard and is not affected by the heat as one of the bulls anciently fell into the fire. He was not burned because of the mud that covered his arm.

Just before the tribe lays down to sleep, Babe in her shelter with Anonymoose, a lone Minotaur stumbles through the scrub. He is bleeding heavily, one of his horns broken off. It is in his hand, covered in dark green ichor. He tells a tale of a lake that he could not see across, animals larger than Minotaurs themselves, and a large pit in the ground full of stone. But then his story turns to one of woe. They were attacked by creatures with six legs. They seemed endless. The scouts crushed many with their hooves and gored many more. But alas only he survived.

>>Second to last turn for today. I gotta go in ungodly early for work tomorrow. And I'm getting burnt on on running this... for now. Will return tomorrow.

The eldest Bull, Taunax, places three small stones near the base of the Totem Pole. Bowing his head in thanks and prayer he thanks the fallen for their sacrifice. The gems in the base of the Totem Pole pulse faintly as he does this.

>+Culture: Remembering the Fallen - Reduces Mourning Penalty

Glug Glug and his most devoted followers return to the mountain to gather more mud and stones. They begin constructing the mouth of fire. But their work is slow because they cannot carry many stones or keep the mud from drying before they use it. However, the base of the mouth of fire is completed this day.

The surviving Scout describes those who attacked them in greater detail. Six legged animals with pincer like jaws boiling out from the jungle and falling upon the Minotaurs without mercy. He produces a carapace that is cracked and broken but large enough for a shield and a razor sharp pincer.

>Technology: Carapace and Pincer (Bug Parts)
>Wounded: -1 effective workers for the next four days

Those who discovered the mud experiment with it further. They make crude bricks and fill the gaps in Babe's shelter with it. Babe is now unable to work but she watches the work around her intently.

That would most likely be under the whole Government research thing.

Anyway. Now that we are down a few workers, we are really short on food, and need to focus on that. Especially if there is a potential invasion.

So, Glug Glug the priest and his Acolytes, can continue on their mouth of fire.

The rest of us need to split between getting food and building housing/defenses

Noting the tribe is low on food Greypatch sets off into the scrub. Wandering into a forest he comes across a cache of already butchered large game animals. But this is not all! He finds snares, backpacks (sized for smaller animals), and basic gravity traps waiting to be used. Without hesitating he grabs all he can, added by the backpacks, and returns to camp!

>+10 Days of Food
>Technology: Snares, Gravity Traps, Backpacks

Glug Glug ropes more Bulls into helping him and his Acolytes, now known as Steel Horns after Glug Glug's blessing. Progress on the Mouth of Fire is frustratingly slow. Between not being able to carry many stones, the mud drying before being used, and a poor understanding of architecture; little progress is made this day

We should refashion the metal axe head so we can get some more trees for resource. I feel that we're going to need to make some fortifications soon... (Thanks for the awesome civ thread today.)

We should use the snare to research rope, and use animal hides we've probably collected to make bigger backpacks
