What are some good firearm accessories?

Realistic or fantastic works. I've got writers block and I want to expand this list.

Keep this in mind: Silencers do not exist. You have suppressors. A gunshot can not be silenced, only suppressed to a more manageable point, and even then that point is still likely to be heard from quite a bit away if fired in sheer silence. Silencers are stupid.

Heartbeat/Motion Sensors come to mind, from various settings.

Various kinds of sights are applicable, from Red-Dot to Thermal, even X-Ray. Having a way to swap between two quickly is an idea.

Well, the idea that silencers actually make the gun totally silent is stupid, but aren't they known as silencers colloquially?

And since was "shear silence" possible. Even on the quitest night there's noise. And sure, you can hear it from quite far away. If by far away you mean a max of 15 meters. If you're using a silencer, chances are mate, you're a little further away than around the block. And let's assume the area is completely quiet, no insects , birds, people, machinery,or wind. the loudest it gets is a short t-ss. Now I can't speak for a suppressed pistol, but assuming you're not a minge-guzzling poppy fondler, you're going to be using sub-sonic rounds too. Sure, you'll see some git going around firing 5.57 rounds out of a suppressed AR-15, but he's not doing it right, is he? he's using standard ammunition, rather than specialised, expensive, sub-sonics. So what you hear is an audible pvvv, everytime a round leaves the chamber. Get a bloody clue mate. Honestly. It makes me angry that people who havn't fired a suppressed rifle properly have decided "uuuuu, IT'S NOT SILENCED GUIS" as if you'll hear it over the sound of ambeint bloody noise.

Yes. Hiram Maxim Jr. referred to them as "silencers" in advertisements, but suppressors in technical works relating to both mufflers and firearms suppressors. Of course, this was back in the good 'ol days when you could get a suppressor for $7 out of the Sears catalog and have it shipped straight to your home with no NFA bullshit.

/k/indergarten pls.
A dedicated silenced gun like the De Lisle with proper subsonic ammo will be so quiet that the noise of the action cycling and the spring vibrating will be louder than the gunshot.

Silencers, optics and mounted tech (everything from flashlights and lasers to underslung grenade launchers and various sensors) are standard. Then you've got various stocks, grips, handles, magazines.
Shit, just go to CoD or BF wikia and check the attachments there. There are also games that have more in depth customization, like BRINK and Blacklight Retribution, but it seems their wikis don't cover everything.
Also, go fuck around with Pimp My Gun.

Silencer is the original term. I don't know why people sperg over silencer/suppressor so much. It would make sense if we actually had silencers that completely silence the gun and suppressors that completely suppress the flash or some shit.
And we do have guns that the only sound heard when fired is the action of the trigger. Granted they are rare and not something that military would use en masse. But there is almost never complete silence and thus guns with integrated silencers are still silent enough.

Try thinking of whimsical accessories to branch out perhaps? A trtipod that is more like a motorised stand for heavy guns, to automatically zip around and line up shots for you before you pull the trigger or 'authorize' the shot, turning it into a gun-droid of sorts. Hip mounted drums that feed into guns of all sizes from pistols and shotguns all the way to 50. Cal. Bullets of all sorts from ones that turn into tiny robots that burrow around in targets instead of exiting, bursting into hallucinogenic gas, or even confetti and sparkles that while non lethal pisses off enemies.

Come up with and absurd idea to incorporate and when it can't be, tell yourself why and at some point you'll branch into something that will work for your setting.

Given that OP specified that fantastic works are okay, you could get away with true silencers.

I think it's best to think in terms of function.
A firearm is something that's used to shoot at people.
So, your accessories are either gonna make you shoot at people better, or provide an unrelated secondary function.

Shooting at people :

Shooting more/better (twin-linked gun, expanded mags, smart ammo, neural link, automatic weapon, cooling system)
Shooting differently (special ammo and ammo circlers, secondary weapon/alternate mode, bayonets even if it's not shooting...)
Detect what to shoot (all kind of optics with different spectrum/magnification, sonar/radar, detection in general, FoF ID...)
Getting your gun in position to shoot (shoulder-mount, bipod/tripod, forehandle, quick-draw holster, sling, magnetic/magic gloves, bending barrel, cute little wings that makes it hover over cover, inertials dampeners for 0-g, waterproofing,...)

Secondaries :
Security gameplay : gene-lock, tracer/GPS, all those systems that register your use of the weapon)
Stealth gameplay (Reducer/Muzzle Brake, Undetectable materials)
Survival gameplay (grapling hooks, utility kits in the stock, bayonet that doubles as a can opener/wire-cutter)
Tech gameplay (Unjamming, making maintenance easier and changing spare parts)
Social gameplay (Pimpin' your gun so everyone can see you're da boss; social status dawg)
