Alright executive decision, ill vote for dwarves so we can get this going.

Nobody believed the silly rumors at first, that a great dragon in the west had raised a horde of lizardmen and was destroying towns. Our town of Revor was a prosperous growing town nestled in the mountains, wars had come and gone but never had conflict touched the town before. One night everything changed. All you remember were the flames and the screams of dying. You barely remember gathering a few items and fleeing with the rest to one of the old tunnels leading out of the town. You find yourself in charge of a large group of refugees you are

A. Horik, A young noble warrior(military leader)
B. Aegar, A middle aged master craftsmen(tech/economic leader)
C. Riga, A young prodigy geomancer(magic leader)

B

Try something different then the usual military/magic leader

B

You are Aegar, former leader of the smiths guild, you know metal and have worked it all your life you also understand the value of developing superior ways to perform your trade and the value of diplomacy.

Our people have had one item to symbolize the power of our ruler it is

A. A crown giving our ruler the ability to see far away things and places
B. A sword made out of rare unbreakable metal from a falling star, it upon the uttering of a simple incantation comes alight with fire
C. A shield, supposedly given to our people by the gods thousands of years ago, that will never break, never bend and will protect its bearer from any harmful magic cast upon them
D. A scepter, giving our ruler the ability to read the minds of people around them

You gather your people around you to address them when you are approached by a group of old men who hand you the scepter and tell you to use its power to protect and lead our people.

You immediately feel its power and sense the fear, sorrow and above all exhaustion of our people. You rally them and lead them further down the tunnels.

Finally in the chaos of the fall, our people lost most of what we had, but had time to gather up one item

A. A set of magic scrolls, detailing spells and techniques covering a variety of subjects
B. A wagonload of weapons and armor
C. A large number of blueprints and schematics from the library
D. A wagonload of tools

So we can make a new home

Your people were fortunate enough to have the foresight to take a wagonload of tools from the merchant district, this will make it much easier to do crafting and construction to start our new settlement
As the leader your priority is to put some distance between the threat and your people as you lead them deeper and deeper into ancient tunnels not traveled by the dwarf people for centuries. After weeks of travel your scouts come across two main options for settlement

A. An abandoned ancient dwarven imperial outpost in the tunnels, has access to the tunnels as well as a small iron mine, also is surrounded by ruined walls and towers.

B. A clearing in a thickly wooded forest with the mountains not far in one direction and the sea not far in the other, it has no established defences but good access to resources and expansion potential
>>
>>32971553
If we're trying something different let's go with B.

Focus on economy and dilpomacy.
>>
A
>>
>>32971606
>>32971610
Since you guys voted for both we will compromise

You have the group split up with some going to establish an iron mine and repair the defenses of the old outpost, while the other half of the group sets up a lumber camp and small settlement on the surface. The two settlements are about 10 miles apart, taking the better a day to travel between.

As our bases have been established what should we focus on first

A. Exploration
B. Expansion
C. Resource development
D. Defenses

You decide with rations getting low the first priority is to develop more food resources. You enact a diverse plan calling for several different food sources. These consist of having several small fishing boats to collect fish from the sea, in addition you send hunters after game in the forest and start growing mushrooms in the tunnels.

Between these three sources you are confident in our people having a secure food supply, providing all the nutrients they need.

In addition you organize the renovation of the ancient iron mine and get it producing again, giving us a small income of iron to produce our own weapons, armor and tools.
>>
>>32971843
You need to make some decisions once again, first of all the people are scared of the dragon-led lizard army finding us and want us to seal the tunnels back in that direction. In addition the fishermen report that they can see fires at night on an island not too far from our island settlement.

How should we deal with these items?
>>
>>32971843
Work on our defenses now.
>>
>>32971877
Send scouts.
>>
Scouts
>>
>>32971880
>>32971896
You send a few of our remaining soldiers along with the fisherman who saw the mysterious fire early the next day. At the same time to assuage the fears of the people, you have our best engineers and architects work to rebuild the old walls and towers of the outpost and seal the tunnel, preventing an invasion from the direction of our old city.

The next day the scouts return with news. They found the remains of a handful of campfires and proof of recent habitation, they also found the remains of what appears to be a ship on the rocks near the shore, the ship has elven runes on it. They tracked some footprints into the forest but were unable to find anything else, when they checked the shipwreck they also found it to be thoroughly looted.

Should we send the scouts back to the island to find the people there?

Also what should we focus on now?

A. Exploration
B. Expansion
C. Military affairs
D. Economic affairs
E. Political/Cultural affairs
F. Naval affairs

One of the first things you decide to do is have the towns elders write down everything important they know, as well as our language, our history and our legends. This inspires a spike in education and you have the idea to start a standardized school system for all the children of the realm. This will help us in our future endeavors to advance our technology.

Meanwhile the scouts are sent out and report that they have made contact with a group of high elves on the island, they apparently are a group of elven magic students, who were on the way to an isolated wilderness area to learn about magic and the world when they shipwrecked, compared to our 80 people they are a small group of just 20 survivors from the shipwreck, mostly young magic students, a few teachers and soldiers and sailors from the ship.

They are not used to the harsh realities of living in the wilderness and have struggled to gather enough food to feed themselves. With the exception of the 2 soldiers and 2 sailors of their group, they are used to living in a comfortable urban elven city.

We have the opportunity to help them out and possibly gain some new friends or destroy them while they are weak and unable to much resist us.

A. Send them food, establish diplomatic relations, possibly inviting them to join our settlement
B. Send a raiding party to destroy their remaining food supplies and then return in a few weeks to wipe them out in their weakened condition

Also this is the last of my posts for the night, should I save this and run it tomorrow?

If I don't end up saving it I will probably end up running a similar dwarf thread anyways.
