I think he's more of an adapted human. I don't think it's ever stated when the Riddick setting takes place, but I'm assuming it's far enough in the future that there's some slight deviations in humanity that adapted to different worlds. He's Furyan and also basically just Space Conan.

I think he's basically human, but yeah, he definitely has some inborn Furyan trait, which in my opinion is just his uncanny knack of just surviving. Furyans are a bit beastlier than regular humans.
