A bit over a week ago I posted my first ad for a game here. It got six expressions of interest and I narrowed down to four decent-seeming players.
A week ago plus half an hour, we agreed that that was an acceptable time, proper game would start in a week, we spent a good part of the game-timeslot discussing character connections and motivations and fleshing out stuff, and I got characters submitted by the lot of them between then and now.

There's a lot this game has to offer, but I'll give the best overview that I can.
Within the world of Double Cross, regular, ordinary people have become infected with the "Renegade" virus, granting them supernatural abilities but at the cost of their own humanity. Those who do not manage to tame their abilities and keep their powers at close check are doomed to become Gjaums, horrific monsters who wish to spread the virus and corrupt the world. Anything can be infected by the Renegade--plants, animals, entire forests, minerals, even abstract things like computer programs, urban legends, etc.
And it's up to those who are able to hold on to their humanity to stave off these monsters.
Outside of fluff, the game is simple and dynamic. It runs entirely off of d10s with a very easy-to-learn interface based off of pairing a main attribute with a skill. On top of that, there are tons of character options with an insane amount of customization.

There's a lot of alternate settings available for it officially in Japanese. I've just only ever encountered people who want to run the Renegade scenario. You're kind of meant to riff on the premise, because the gameplay veers closely to Exalted without being Exalted.

That works both ways. A lot of detail gets lost over voice. If something gets misheard or missed entirely, you can't just scroll up and re-read it for clarification.
The fact is that human beings don't all process data in the same way. Some require vocal discourse in order for information to solidify, whereas others need to see it in text form. The entire shitstorm of 'muh voice' or 'muh text' is a result of grognards who can't possibly fathom that other people absorb information in different ways than they do.

I am aiming for a 'short' campaign. 5-8 sessions or so, and to run for a party of 4 (5 being the absolute maximum i might allow only on an extreme situation). I do have an outline of a potential plot, but i'd rather have players make characters with cool backstories and hooks i can use. Should the game be good enough or the PC's show enough potential, i may attempt a longer game.
The tone and style of this game, regardless, will be more fantastical/action-y rather than gritty or realistic. Pic related should be a good reference.

Short answer: Yes.
Long answer: I am fully able to adapt to/ participate on very different kinds of games, especially Fantasy-type games, but [this] is what i want to GM at the moment.

Star Wars could be fun, although I am a little nervous about running it. I've had a lot of really bad experiences even irl using the various systems. Lots of trying to just fuck around on planets I haven't prepared anything for, lots of 'i work alone' types, bickering about allowing jedi, things like that.

I've had experience as a FATE GM, but right now I'm just looking to join a game with a good friend of mine. Preferably something on the shorter side of things. Aggressively interview them. While character-wise how they present themselves can be just about anything, make sure they know exactly what it is they're getting into in terms of what time they're expected to show up and for how long the campaign is projected to last for assuming semi-ideal conditions (allowing for a single missed session every two months in a six month game, for example). For reference, I once had a person from here show up and assume the oneshot I was running was going to run the week after, even though I told them specifically to expect it that week. In addition, even if they don't seem like flakes after all of that, remind them of the following things that can and will screw with their motivation:
Jobs/Schoolwork
Any relatives staying at a hospital/any dying or elderly relatives.
An exciting upcoming game.
Anything else I may have forgotten to mention here.
It doesn't actually matter whether they tell you about those things, but they should be made aware of those from the start so that they can quit before they do any lasting damage to the campaign.

I'm looking for 3 to 4 players to join one of my test groups for the game I'm working on. Currently the core mechanic's are completed, and I'm mostly looking for player feedback so I can tweak anything that needs to be balanced. Ace Combat is a series of video games focusing on combat between fictional countries using (mostly) real world aircraft. The current campaign is set during the Belkan War (1995). Players take on the role of mercenaries hired by the nation of Ustio. Successful missions earn players XP to upgrade their characters, and cash to upgrade/modify existing, or purchase new aircraft. Game play so far has been comprised of in cockpit missions, and more roleplay centric out of cockpit sessions.
I'll be monitoring the thread and able to respond to any questions, but as I'm on my phone at work I can guarantee neither promptness nor great detail.
