Infinity is a 28mm scale skirmish game by Corvus Belli where cute tiny robots are put in charge of battlefield medicine.

First for Moblots back to AVA 5, Vive la Merovingia!
>>
>>47465470
Nice pic, who drew it if I may politely inquire?

So Servants are controlled by the Doctor, but who controls Remote Presence bots? Bored EVO troopers with masters degrees in robotics up in orbit wondering why they are stuck in a shitty MulBot instead of a glorious Bulleteer? 13-yr old Koreans with fast enough reflexes to control a Su Jian? An ALEPH Aspect that is glad it can durdle around with Dakinis for a few precious hours instead of having to calculate scenarios in which the EI doesn't subsume the Human Sphere? Bakunin droid otherkin?
>>
>>47465566
Apparently actual REMs are robots. PanO TAGs, Su-Jian and Sphinxes are controlled remotely by random faggots back at base, Maruts and CA Mnemonica units are Aspects, Karakuri are robots and Batroids are weird vat grown cyborgs.

Securitate getting a total overhaul. Grenzers getting a HMG. The sectorial getting cool new units.
>>
>>47467692
I think Grenzers will be fine with a Spitfire when they get Fireteam Core. Sure, HMG would be cool, but I don't think it's absolutely necessary.

Question is if Grenzers also get Haris, like Wildcats.
>>
>>47467692
>total overhaul
And not say, something as functional as say, a 3-5 point discount?
>>
>>47467720
I'd be cool with them just cutting off sixth sense and the light shotgun, leaving it at about 15 points. I wouldn't buy a Securitate for 20 points because it's still a schizophrenic mess of a unit. Leave SSL2 for the unlinkable dudes with scary AROs, not a line troop that's most valuable when linked.
>>
>>47467785

I think they should go in the other direction. They've got a decent beginning for a good prowler-esque midfield infighter, maybe add a little something to really bring them into them own. A shotgun, repeater, slightly better stats, and a skill that protects them from nasty stuff. Forward deployment, or maybe something like an auxbot, and they'd have a real niche as a sort of light exploitation figure.

>when linked
Yeah, that's a kicker for them. Repeater and SSL2 are more or less useless en mass in a link team. The later's worthless on the base unit, and the former ends up being way too redundant.

Yeah, I'd like to see a nomad with some sort of Synch, and Tunguska would be a decent opportunity for it. The faction's fluff already paints them as being ass deep in REM development.
>>
>>47467808
Tunguska really needs a basic line troop, though. Maybe a low AVA of Alguaciles could suffice, but I think it would be better for them to have their own. And 15 point walking repeaters with AVA Total and Interventor support sounds like a great time.

I think this is the innate problem with the Securitate. They've got a decent beginning for a a midfield infighter, a decent beginning for an elite line troop and a decent beginning for an ARO machine. But in the end they're shit at all of those things and would be better off if they were cut into a few specialized units and developed from there.

There will probably be new units coming out for Kazaks, and there will definitely be resculpts.

I'd expect a new batch of Line and Veteran Kazaks, as well as a new autocannon Tankhunter and probably another resculpted Scout (though the old Ojotnik Scout has aged very well)

>>47470289
Raktoraks are garbo unless you want a cheap filling for a Suryat link. AC Kurgats are pretty underwhelming too (which sucks, haris could have saved them). Everything else in that list is pretty good. Rasyats have old models so they're ripe for resculpts, but they're a good unit nonetheless.

Interesting. I didn't think robots were actuslly a thing, what with the Only One AI rule. Do Karakuri have rudimentary, unsentient software guiding them around? It almost seems like it would be easier to just hook them up to a human operator.
>>
>>47470857
It's worth mentioning that remotes ARE guided by, well, remote, if need be, but the expert programs installed locally are sophisticated enough to be able to work without them. Although of course EW oversight is needed if you don't want them wandering off the moment some OPFOR hacker gets their mits on them.
>Only One AI
They're not AI. More likely very sophisticated programs.
>Karakul
Something to that effect, yes.
>Hook them up
Drones are enlisted as the operator is the officer. They can handle the jobs you assign them, but they require oversight for coordination and planning purposes, and for dealing with the inevitable hiccups.

Well, when chaksa came, people compared it to Ikadron, which itself resembles EI aspects that came before it. All the EI stuff share some aesthetics, which is fitting. Chaksas on the other hand were intended to look sturdy, which in turn was original Tohaa concept before they became the puppetmasters they are now.

>>
>>47474756
In a deterministic universe, there is no 'random' crit: the die has already been cast upon the creation of the world. We may not live in such a world, but it's important to understand that dice rolls, just like Hidden Deployment or Private Information, are another piece of hidden information that increases the tension of the game. Instead of being unknown to one, the result is instead hidden from both players.

When you know every element of an enemy's list, the tension to watch your back vanishes. When you know the enemy cannot possibly hit, the tension in spending an offensive Order vanishes. When you know that Mighty Casey cannot strike out, there is no drama to sending him up to bat. David has to be able to beat Goliath to elevate games to mythic status. Players should try their best to stack the odds to write the story of the battle best they can, but almost no amount of MOD stacking will make a trooper immortal. All men must die.
>>
>>47476031
I didn't even play overwatch, but art, lore and cinematics were already enough to motivate me to paint the shit out of my guys before my first tournament. And it kind of inspired me to build a list for a cool, good looking and model-diverse team.

>>
>>47482831
I agree with the fire changes being rather dumb. Should have added something for single-wound ones to worry about.

But what makes the Sukeul stick out poorly? I'm not too versed on Tohaa since the local guys playing it are the least active and they're nuts for Clipsos more than anything.

It's a linkable mimetic BS13 HMG/ML with effectively 2 wounds that costs 35 points. That would be a great unit in any other faction, but it's a massive deal for Tohaa since we've always favoured short range combat. It's basically an entire wishlist dumped into a single unit.
>>
>>47482831
Eh, considering the almost ubiquitous availability of multiple links in sectorials, Tohaa needed something to even things out.
>>
>>47483068
Reminds me of a summary for Tohaa I read ages ago. Seemed like their powerhouse units were typically soloists, while the rest weren't as good but could make triads to shore up weaknesses.

Guess they're reversing the trend. (Or have been)

When a beginner brings camo/smoke - msv 2 list on his intro game, using every trick in the book and that only being the tip of the iceberg of my meta. I think I'll take my chances with OW where I can always click on "leave game".

I have my models that I've build but having an army that isn't going to see table top any time or models that I'd love to play but they just have no place in the meta is also missing the selling point of the hobby.

Bolts have pretty situational skills and I've never been a fan of how their ARO weapons are all really long ranged for midfield troops, but I'm pretty sure they're only considered bad because NCA has so much other outstanding shit. Bolts are fine, and the ability to turn any non-monofilament mine into your bitch is great.

They're a bit behind after HSN3, though. They haven't got any fancy link stuff like Number 2 or Haris and they're paying far more for drop bears than anybody else is at the moment.

>>

The second group is anaemic, orders wise. Decent firepower, somewhat lacklustre mobility, but the Su Jian and links helps with that. A good amount of specialists, and a very nice level of close up fighters. Those Wu Ming are vulnerable to long ranged stuff. They'd be great close up, but they could do more, even with a combi rifle.

Maybe transfer a few orders over to group 2. You've got too much firepower in that group to let them languish with just 5 orders.

Hey, question about houserules (unless there's an official ruling I don't know of):

How do you treat terrain like holo-walls, holo ads and the like? I got some MicroArt holo-ads to spice up the table, but I have not used them yet and I'm wondering how to.

Would you treat them like normal walls? Or something that does not block LoF, but imposes a cover bonus anyway? Should they add a bonus to ARM?

My idea for them was to treat them like a flat Nimbus field, a -3 to BS and -1 to Burst, but only if the model is totally covered by it.
>>
>>47491138

Downgrade that Kuang Shi with the BS to a CR.

>>47491043
Looks good, although it's playing things quite openly, and doesn't have any real surprises. Of course, you do have an incredibly distributed amount of whoop-ass, so it should work.

>>47491149
A lot of the time, we treat them like actual walls, because the board otherwise would be too open. If you're after something elegant, make them low visibility zones. The Nimbus Field is a good idea, though.
>>
>>47491289
>A lot of the time, we treat them like actual walls, because the board otherwise would be too open.
Yeah, you see, my problem with Infinity tables is that for all the stuff that's on them, most of it is just solid LoF blockers. Infinity has all those rules about zones and difficult terrain and all that that most people ignore. I now understand why it's showing up in official scenarios more often, because otherwise people would never use it.

Hey there. Recently started up MRRF after friends pointedly told me that playing Pan O with a Cutter is easy mode.

Took this list out for a spin against an Onyx Force the other day and got deep-fucked. Pretty sure I made a lot of retarded moves (not using my AD troops properly, digging in at a stupid spot), but how does the list look?

Any room for improvement/suggestions for expansion. I have everything listed there + the other contents of the MRRF starter box (extra Zouave, Moblot, extra Metro).
>>
>>47491043
If you take an obvious Lt, it might as well be Achilles burning the order. And if you cut Machaon you'd then have the SWC for a Chain of Command officer.
>>
>>47491644
I've been adding nimbus zone areas (usually forests) and they are really fun as long as they aren't dominating the center of the board.
>>
>>47491149
I played them once as inflicting a -6 to units shooting through them, reduced by MSV levels. Hackers (or maybe all troops?) can use a short skill to turn them on/off if in base contact.

Engineers and hackers to cover it. They won't make your TAG immortal but it'll give it a chance to resist common problems for them.
>>
>>47501177
Take an engineer that can actually GET to the TAG without blowing too many orders. Typically, that means servant bots.

Support them well, and remember that TAGs might get whittled occasionally in ARO, it's the counterattack that kills them. If you run a TAG, you have a rambo par excellence, but make sure you have the right figures to cover them. That might mean good shooting, it might mean mines, it might mean infiltrators, auxbots, AD distracting them, war bands, camouflage, etc. Hackers help as well, although you really should have one anyway.
>>
>>47501177
Always bring an engineer, preferably with a bot. Hackers are a good idea too. Hide them away for your opponent's turn or they'll get fucked up. TAGs are not ARO pieces.

My friend wants to start a Military Orders army.
His favorite orders are the Hospitaller and the Holy Sepulchre and he is mostly in it for the cool models over game play.

Any suggestions on how to build a list with those?
>>
>>47506798
Hospitallars are basically the best order knights. They're great at shooting and come with PanO's best doctor at the same time. He will want to pick up some order sergeants and Magister knights to fill out the list too. Just convert the Teuton you get in the starter set to a hospitaller by removing the pamzerfaust and painting him in the appropriate color scheme.

Im newish to the game but how can you have a muyibs Harris with an Asawira in the link?
>>
>>47506958
Just from the listing of possible links on the unit profile pages. You'll have stuff like CORE, but then some have CORE (1) and specify something special.
>>
>>47506988
Do you happen to have the page for the hassassin profile page from hsn3? Is this rule in the Harris section of the rules?
>>

The pdf for unit profiles on the Infinity site is free and have it at the end of the Haqqislam section.
>>
>>47507032
>>47507059
Guess to specify better. Each sectorial has been given a chart of possible links, link types, and availability of units. In those have the units marked with what teams they can form and some have a note to them signified by a small (#) next to their listing and below the box explains it. It's not something specific in the general rules for Haris and such.

Well, since you can mix Magisters with Hospitallers in links, I guess that would be the way to go. I was thinking about a Sepulchre + Hospitallers in a Magister link list myself and whipped up one just now.

It's a bit light on specialists and the Lt. is obvious... After you reveal him that is.

Most of the times I think you'd probably want to run a Sepulchre without Hospitallers, because he's a bit pricey. So like a Sergeant link + Gabriel + Sepulchre I think.

The ruling is you run the link to half way up the field, put 3 of them in suppression mode, because x-visors, send the BSG and KHD off as a duo, and use a combination of +6 DAM 14 AP within 8 inches, KHD programs, and cybermask to deal anything you find. Tag lists usually only run a single tag. Especially Pano tag lists. Pano tags are very expensive, and generally quite good.

>>47519122
The only TAG you should not take an engineer with is Iggy. Otherwise, always bring an engineer. They're a TAG's best friend.

As for hackers, Fusiliers are cheap so they're the thing most people go for. I much prefer a Kamau though, she's got better WIP and it's much harder for enemy hackers to make her head explode. The new Regular looks kind of interesting too.

Being able to handle a possessed TAG is important, but it's better to be proactive when protecting your shit.
