How do you make Nobz not a D- unit? Nobz seem too pricey to do anything other than 'eavy armor and big choppas and even then they're only good at mulching anything short of power armor and medium vehicles.

Newer Player.
Not sure if I got Fulgrim right but I haven't read much loyalist fluff.
Just the basic story line and a few specific primarchs when I was looking for my first army.
>>
>>47294231
for black templars? they got all the benefits of being in the vanilla book which means formations though they can't use crusade squads in them or the new psychic powers. but hey you get flyers and your own warlord table. oh also they don't hate psykers now, just distrust them and they are officially only 1k marines like other chapters

>>
>>47294175
Give them at-initiative weapons, like so:
bitly/OrksPDF

They get to swing at i5 on the charge unless they take PKs; part of their worthlessness is that they don't have more than 2 weapons, so problem eliminated. They also got 20 point bikes.
>>
>>47294322
No, Fabio is clearly the Emperor. Haven't you seen how he can multiclass?
>>
Anyone have experience with Eldar Corsair? What units are good? I read the 1d4chan tactics but still have some questions.

Like what weapons are the best?
What are the Voidstorm Bands for?
Is the Malevolent Band good?

I'm still pretty new to the game.

>>
>>47294386
cloud dancers are amazing
reavers are good
balestrike are downright nasty with dark lances, hornets with kinetic shrouds are straight up aids in the butt
voidstorms are the unit of all felarchs right? if so, they're decent as bodyguard for your prince with a baron
malevolent bands are dogshit sadly
>>
>>47294361
Probably not without research.

i know Khan is the biker

I just remember Fulgrim being a more emo Sanguinus and kinda vampy too

Ferrus is a steel gate if rogal is a yellow wall

Either Mort or Pert are the smith guy

Corax doesnt even sound familiar

Couldnt tell you about Lorgar either.

I guess I got Angron wrong, I thought one of the bad ones turned to nurgle so kind of took a shot. Remember him being discribed as smelly and someone had a hilarious screen cap of an adventure that made me laugh.
Who am I thinking of? Maybe it wasnt a primarch.
>>
>>47294412
Glad to hear it; another Ork player in my own group said she would never use homebrew, but really, most of this thing was bringing back good ideas & balance that had been torn away. They have to be tired of watching you run MegaStikk Bosses, Mek Gunz, & Grots.
>>
>>47294422
Why are Malevolents dogshit?
Also how to kit the Voidstorms (Felarch Group)
And is the Eldar Missile Launcher any good on Balestrike?
>>
>>47294435

>Couldnt tell you about Lorgar either.

>I guess I got Angron wrong, I thought one of the bad ones turned to nurgle so kind of took a shot. Remember him being discribed as smelly and someone had a hilarious screen cap of an adventure that made me laugh.
>Who am I thinking of? Maybe it wasnt a primarch.
You're thinking of Mortarion, literally no one cares about him though so it's an easy mistake to make.
Angron is... well, the name says it all, really.
>>
>>47294435
Vulkan, Ferrus, and Fulgrim were smiths, though Vulkan was the most well-known, iirc.

Angron was the agnry one.

Lorgar was the one who loved religion and was unhappy when he was told it was bad, mmkay?

Corax is the goodguy ninjabatman.

Mort is the creepy anti-psyker poisonfreak.

Pert is the WWI send troops at them till it dies guy.

Ferrus has metal hands from wrestling a dragon atop a volcano.

Fulgrim was evil perfectionist Sanguinius.

All the others are correct.
>>
>>47294259
If you are reading any fluff ever than your Lion choice was just a meme you saw at the start of the thread.

Two Face, maybe even an idiot or someone sleeping.

If you made vulkan a negative colour of what you have their it would be more accurate.
>>
>>47294435
Jaghatai Khan is Genghis Khan in space, Ferrus Manus is the Terminator, and Angron is a typical metal band screamer guy.
>>

I'm all for it but I'll have to see how players around me feel about it. I'm hype to run the Red Sunz Motakayde and play Mad Morkz: The Army

Though I understand the need for speed, does the wording for infantry needing bikes/transports conflict with taking Stormboyz?
>>
>>47294465
prince with reaper of the outer dark and void sabre, baron and felarchs all get jetbikes, and then shadow fields and venom blades on the felarchs, use them to soak wounds for your prince so he can actually make it into CC.
eml is pretty lame all around, dark lance is better for sure
malevolents are expensive, only t3 so tons of things ID them and cant take transports

>>
>>47294568
Corax's whole deal is being Caw Caw the Sneaki Cheeki Breeki. It's pretty obvious he has some type of bird fetish. "Corvus Corax" is in fact the scientific name for the common crow and literally translates to Raven Raven. Also his last known words were "Nevermore..."

And Pert is more of an engineer/architect than a smith. I'm retarded, forgive me.

It's been almost 4 years and we've heard absolutely no news that I know of.

>>

If that is what you took from that story, you are dumb too.

After I warned him that my Ravenwing would be too strong he said nah and turned down my terminator list (which I prefer to bring against Orks/Nids/CSM) so they have a chance. He denied and we play our bikes v bikes, and he concedes turn 4 and blames it all on his codex.

So if they win they are tactical geniuses, but if they lost its the books fault. That is what pisses me off. Tyranids are the exact same way even if they are spamming big bugs.

Because gw can never admit they're wrong, so rather than just admit they fucked up and made war convo way too strong and then nerfing it, they had to stealth nerf it by "clarifying" the rules, and thus fuck over tons of people who were using drop pods, many of whom weren't even running war convo.

>to counter 1 transport they fuck up all kinds of transport for everyone else

CSM are 6E. The first 6E book I think, and currently the oldest.

From a time where GW said "you know what, we're going to NERF this army when it gets updated instead of making them stronger than 5E SW/IG/Necrons/GK, because our plan is to balance the game!" Then they give up once it's time to get Tau/Eldar release.

Saaaame thing happened in 7E. See Dark Eldar, Blood Angels, etc.

That's why whenever GW nerfs an army, I call them on their bullshit but faggots just go "hurrr do you want more Eldar OP stuff it's good they're nerfing people". Except GW NEVER NERFS EVERYONE, THEY ALWAYS GIVE UP HALFWAY THROUGH, AND ELDAR AND TAU JUST GET NUMEROUS BUFFS IN A ROW.

Lucky git.

I was thinking of, like

Seth/Tyberos
Sanguinary Guard/Honour Guard/Termy CS
10 Tacticals
10 Death Company/5 Ass Terms
20 Assault
2 Rhinos Each

Or something like that. I liked the idea of a carnage fight off. Each side trying to out do each other. Space Sharks go insane and smash shit while Flesh Tearers temper the rage.

Difficult when they're both different. Trying to think of a points balanced side for each. 750 each. But I want Seth and Tyberos leading them.

Seth wrecks GEQ's with that sword. He does like 6+D3 attacks on charge, but it's only AP4.

They're not going to do anything because the reason this problem exists is they literally just let the devs do what they like.

Until sales fall drastically, they're not going to go "Okay you guys, change the way you do everything, we're going to start hiring actual system devs and playtesters and compartmentalize the rules production". They're making money just by letting the writers do what they like when they like, so there's no reason to change that.
>>
>>47295554
Whenever someone says Tyranids suck, just read it with a little annotation that says 'if you don't spam Flyrants'

Flyrants are great, but a list without them is very low down. Probably not the worst, but still low tier.
>>
>>47295554

What they really mean is X armies suck [if you don't use their one good build/spam their one good unit].

Try again without Flyrants and see how well you do against Necron Decurion, non-FAQ War Convocation AdMech, and Gravstar psychic Space Marines/Battle Company.

Protip: You'll be raped even with Flyrants unless your opponents are retarded.
>>
>>47295564
That's 6th edition, thus 7th edition overrides that rule, making them Battle Brothers :^)

Same shit with Red Hunters being Battle Brothers with SoB, GK and Inquisition. That's old.

I suspect an update whenever FW get round to merging Badab War.

But they're too busy making Chapter Master Culln of the Red Scorpions into a unique Dread.

>>47295575
That's the thing. I think they ARE looking into rule shit. That's why FAQ is being drafted.

But, as I said, if you at least give them information, it could result in change. But part of me thinks that if Nids, CSM and Orks got a Top Tier codex they would moan anyway or, hate not being able to moan.

The only good formation is Skyblight and Living Artillery. And I don't even know if they're good anymore.

Venomthrope formation was never good, ever, even when Tyranids weren't as shitty as they are now or had to compete with new OP shit like 7E Tau, 7E Eldar, AdMech, 7E C:SM, Knights, psychic phase, etc.

Because very few people would buy Eldar kits if they werent so powerful on the tabletop.
Tau get awesome and powerful rules (and BL plot armor) because those giant mecha kits are a goldmine, and they are riding that gravy train hard.

I think theyve finally reached a point where there are as many people fed up with the bullshit as there are people willing to continue supporting this game.

How many Stormbirds do chapters have? The books mention how many Thunderhawks an army has, but nothing else (that size). Example, BA have 36 Thunderhawk Gunships and 3 Thunderhawk Transporters. But nothing on Stormbirds or Fire Raptors.

Unless Stormbirds don't exist in 40k? If not, Fire Raptors? Aren't they bigger than Storm Ravens?

But, even if you buy from recasters, the fact you're playing the game is advertisment. If you're truly fed up with 40k, quit playing. It really is that simple. Infinity or Warmahordes have fun models (I like Warmahordes stuff and like T&A Infinity).

Have you ever thought he has never had the courage to go into GW or a FLGS and start modelling cause he's embarrassed or doesn't want to get swindled or some shit?

Just show him a fucking picture, if he likes it, then ask him if he wants to do a box of models with you to see if he likes it, do it on your work break. If he goes "Nah" just go "Okay, that's cool, if you change you mind, just ask".

If he spreads it round, call him out on it and ask why he did it. If he calls you a nerd or some shit, just dismiss him, walk away and never interact with him again, or if you're vindictive or really annoyed, report him for insulting you.

Don't know if Stormbirds exist in 40k. Fire Raptors are very, very rare. So rare that you can only use one per army, and if you want to use more, you need the head honcho of your relics on the battlefield. Only the richest of the rich chapters like Minotaurs who have unlimited gear can swagger around with multiple Fire Hawks.

Fire Raptors are larger than Stormravens. They are Storm Eagle variants, not Stormraven variants.

Remember when Lord of the Rings came out and GW made a line of minis and a really really awesome game to go with it? Like their most balanced game system? Do you remember New Line Cinema fucking them over going "We want them sub-28mm so people don't get confused" so all the awesome minis didn't sell that great?

the demolisher exists to pound heavy infantry into the dust and do the occasional anti-infantry work.

>>
>>47295993
It's a Rapier Battery combined into a single unit. Ordnance 3 Twin-linked, S9 AP1 Pseudo-Gets-Hot. While it is an unholy rape-machine against vehicles, you're better off taking an actual battery of 3 Rapiers with Laser Destroyers..

For reference, Laser Destroyer Rapiers have Ordnance 1 S9 AP1 Twin-Linked. But a battery of 3 of them has the advantage of Chapter Tactics, 6 goons enjoying toughness 7 3+, with actual ability to take cover saves, and presumably a librarian rolling up either Shrouded or Endurance to give them a 4+ feel no pain on T7 with Relentless.
>>
>>47295982
The Hammerhead Ion Cannon is underrated and far better than the Memeray.

Broadsides are good but and S7 is good but AP4 isn't something to write home about.

Kroot are an excuse to make point elsewhere, other than being a human wave they're unimpressive. Sniper drones are the best snipers in the game, too bad snipers arent versatile at all, Piranhas are just AV11 walls.

Piranhas and Kroot are good units. They just aren't netlist top picks. Piranhas have a recycling drone formation now and were always a good cheap source of drones and a cheap way to get 3 fast skimmers that can completely blockade and immobilize/prevent disembarks of transports. Kroot are a mandatory one of squad for sniper access, cheap disposable bodies, and cheap Infiltrate that can re-roll outflank with a 5 point hound or off a suit's Positional Relay.

Just imagine being able to call in a load of Kroot from any Riptide or XV8 that's in danger, on any board edge.

Tau also have some great FW units.

That recycling Drone formation is nice to complain about in /tg/ but traditional Tau tactics yield far better results. They're nice to grab objectives, but when did Tau having issues doing that. It's fun but it's not something I'm taking to a tournament.

You're underrating Fire Warriors and Breachers. Throw Breachers and an Ethereal on a Devilfish and you'll unhinge anything but T8+ from an objective. Fire Warriors are arguably the best troop choices in the game with Guardians and Warriors competing for it.

Kroot are OK. They're cheap snipers, but throughout most games I've played I'd rather have a pulse rifle than a sniper rifle in a vast majority of situations. Outside of their sniper role they're not doing much.

Most of the time if my XV8s or Riptide is in trouble some Kroot aren't saving their ass. The few time they are in trouble.

Pro tip: usually those death star runners and super heavy/GC are shit at actually playing the game and the objective. They run their death star around like a retard wielding a stick, kill some shit and then get BTFO in points by games.

>What amazing stories do you have of your Kroot's accomplishments other than pissing off the random MC.
Aww yiss, kroot warstories time:
>Group of 15 kroot snipers infiltrated enemy backline, shot at enemy dreadknight causing 3 wounds. Dreadknight tried to assault them and died to overwatch
>2x10 Kroot snipers outflank two enemy havoc teams, proceeds to wipe them in 2 shooting phases
>1x10 Vanilla kroots outflanks into two enemy farseers and wipes them in 1 turn.
>Have gotten me linebreaker more times than I can remember
>1x10 Infiltrated close with 4 man stealth team and glanced out 2 wyverns on first turn, proceeded to slaughter infantry squads.
>Several occasions of holding 2 turns in melee when ethereal was close by to give stubborn and ld10
>Several occasions of nigging the relic on first turn infiltrate and passed it into my gunline, forcing the enemy to play on my terms.
>Scores of times they have bubblewrapped important units against deep strikes, outflanks etc.
>Scores of times they have denied enemy charges on bigger units.
>Have cucked enemy infiltrators from the dawn of time.
>Back in the 6th edition they were crucial part on taking out several wraithknights on several games
>Back in the 4th&5th edition kroots have ambushed several tanks, killing/crippling them in melee

Seriously, kroots have decent damage output with just rifles. Taking sniper rounds just makes them that much better. And if you don't see the value of a 6ppm infiltrating model, then something is horribly wrong with you.

My 10 Kroot stared at 4 Marines beating the shit out of my Stealth Suits until they slaughtered the Suits and then 1 Marine held up 8 for 4 turns.

I have played nids since 3rd but recently got into tau.0
They outflanked and took out an opposing wraithknight before it wrecked my shit.
No statistical basis for this since i literaly only played them once but it was pretty awesome.
>>
Tried out Wulfen for the first time in a game, a fucking hilarious unit against close combat focused armies. It's like a grenade, anything that touches it is not coming out unscathed. I don't care if the Emperor himself charges the unit, he's getting hit by at least 8 S10 AP2 and 8 S7 AP2 attacks whether he likes it or not.
>>
>>47296458
Actually they are just supposed to clarify, not contradict.

If they want to change a rule, they should call it an errata, so people know gw is admitting they were wrong.

Servitor above monkeys? Monkeys get an invuln, buffs, no mindlock and choose their weapons each turn. They should be equal (since those benefits come for 15 points).

And Razorback should be a B+ easily. It's only 5 more points than a rhino. Way better than any other codex that can take it. Plus, it can get psybolt rounds for insta-deathing anything T3.

What? No, you retard.

Frequently Asked Question documents are supposed to answer questions about how the rules work, not change them.

If rules are genuinely unclear or if they need to be changed then they should actually be changed which is what errata are for.
>>
>>47297006
Oh hush you, Land Raider Excelsior is better than C- (As long as you dont encounter grav, D or haywire)
>>
>>47296790
Sisters aren't that bad. Melta is always good AT stuff and SoB aren't too expensive to make it unusable. Flamers are great even against MEQ's and what do Sisters get a lot of?

But best of all? D6 S8 AP1 Melta missiles a turn. Three of those means I'm dropping 3D6 of those on you a turn. Doesn't matter what you are, you're going to die eventually.

Against top tier? Nah. Against Nids/Orks/CSM I think I'd do quite well. Repressors are also underrated. They're slightly more expensive than a Chimera, but have +1 FAV. They have Flamer and Stormbolter for damage, which isn't great, but they do have 8 fire ports. Meaning you can bunker in it if you need.
>>
>>47297028
I was mocking his rating. Inquisition Crusader with Psybolts is going to dish out decent amounts of dakka. Redeemers become tastier with Psyflame.

Isn't Excelsior the Reserve Jammer/Buffer Warhammer World exclusive?

Fuck off. If women like 40k, they do, if they don't they don't.

Tumblr is the place for gender panderers like yourself. Don't bring the same shame Dungeons and Dragons got to this hobby.
>>
>>47297134
Right, unlike all of those other wargames that have loads of female players.

Given that females don't seem to especially like books, video games or tabletop games where warfare is the central theme I think that the best way to make it female friendly would be to change 40K to a time when there is only dating and gossip.

Sex in the hive city.
