Welcome back to the Penance lads, might as well relax and take care of business while we're stuck here, as it seems there isn't much else at present.

How would you run a game of Doctor Who?
What system should I use?
There was an official-ish one at some point.
In general though I have no idea how that would work since even in spinoffs, Doctor Who revolves around there being one supernaturally amazing character who the others just kinda hang with. That doesn't really mesh with there being a full party of adventurers.

FATAL
The Doctor's pretty much a plot device, moreso than a character. Not that he lacks character, by any means, but most episodes have him and his companion(s) running from things right up until it's time for the Doctor to shout "God, it was so obvious! How did I miss that?" and then he talks/technobables up the solution to this week's problem. So yeah, I personally would avoid having them teamed up with the walking deus ex machina if possible, as they may come to resent him

Our group got couple of tons of Orichalcum and now we are creating a currency in a 2.5 campaign.
We did some negotiations with guild and we will try to spread our currency through all of the threshold, the fact that one of our solars has Cult 5 helps us even more because he will enforce orichalcum currency trade within the church and also will influence all of the followers of the cult so that they use the currency too.
What dangers are we going to face soon? How buttmad is empire going to get when they hear of an Orchicalcum currency?
bump with my characters sketch
>>45296857
Money is literally the least valuable thing you can make out of orichalcum, and a couple tons isn't going to make even the fraction of the coinage needed to have it spread further than your backyard, so the Realm's mostly going to laugh their asses off and make wanking gestures in your direction.
This is a rapier.
It is a terrible weapon for terrible people.
>>45296333

But that's wrong you retard.
I hate rapiers and the people that use them, but its a damned effective weapon.
You are only correct if we use the term 'terrible' to refer to the terror it causes in its opponents and the ruthlessness of those that use them.

>No hope in grinding out drafts until I can afford good cards?
you don't get tix for winning drafts anymore.
basically if you didn't grind drafts or $20 red deck into a real deck winning tix last year it isn't worth playing constructed on modo because the wizard funbux you get for winning are not tradeable and thus cannot be used to buy cards for constructed.
>>45296093
>How do we fight the Eldrazi Menace?
By rolling over for a standard season and getting the heart and soul of their deck banned because wizard's doesn't print hate to combat the boogiemen decks because the hate cards are inevitably "too strong for standard."
>>45296127
>standard.
I meant modern season. You get the idea. WotC likes their ban hammer. Once they've stopped selling gatewatch packs, they'll feel no hesitation to ban the fuck out of everything the eldrazi ever loved.

old resource management/CRPG from the Glorantha setting. you play a clan leader who makes all the decisions that will either benefit or fuck up your clan completely and irreparably. your decision making skills matter a lot in here as your advisors can be wrong/biased while some will be competent. Your end goal here is to unite the clans, form a tribe and be king of the place called Dragon Pass.

What monsters have you thrown at your players? Do you use things from the books like Cryptids (Mage) or Reptiloids (Demon) or Aswangs (Wicked Dead)? Or do you make up weird shit that your players would never see coming?
I actually did throw an Aswang at my players.
My more responsible player then animated the corpse of her last victim, knocked on her suburban cul-de-sac door at 7am, got greeted with a shotgun, and then had a zombie murder a woman in full view of every other house. Then they took her corpse away in their unmarked van before the cops came. They also insulted the vampire they were supposed to work with and stole the corpse of his girlfriend to make a zombie.
They were supposed to build reputation with the other supernatural communities to help their small cabal.
That's...

I gave a Sin-Eater some Slasher merits and set him after my players. I also refluffed Hedge Wolves to be R.O.U.S.s when they wandered into the Hedge through some steam tunnels.

The Tabletop RPG club at my community college needs to get new blood, and we're reaching out to some of the "nerdier" clubs out there. Writing club, anime club, and video game clubs are go- there are representatives going to their club meetings and starting up games with permission.
However, I am performing an outreach game for the Furry Club next month. I have a few friends in there, and I can honestly say it isn't that bad. Not a fursuit to be seen, and it's more of a place to discuss Zootopia, Kung Fu Panda, Redwall, and most recently Undertale...

I wish my groups were able to achieve such a progression, but I'm afraid the conflicting schedules of adult life will keep them at the level of inspecting Daemon poop
Hey folks.
I've been trying to figure out a way to add some suspense and impetus to my game's fights and to get my players to make immediate action and decisions.
Force them to be much more proactive about movement and target priority in a firefight and to throw them "in the shit" if you will.
How jank and/or dumb would it be to have a stopwatch timer set for 1-2 minutes and that is the time limit on their combat actions for the round?
I'm curious as to whether or not anyone else has tried something like this and whether or not it worked.

It's a tool used to kill people, a weapon. If it's dishonorable to use poison, presumably there's a specific reason its "honorable" status is different than that of, say, a pollaxe.
