A thread dedicated to discussion and feedback of games and homebrews made by /tg/ regarding anything from minor elements to entire systems, as well as inviting people to playtest your games online. While the thread's main focus is mechanics, you're always welcome to share tidbits about your setting.
Try to keep discussion as civilized as possible, avoid non-constructive criticism, and try not to drop your entire PDF unless you're asking for specifics, it's near completion...

My homebrew wargame. Freshly updated after a test game with a friend today.
Old thread - >>45954792
Just to give anyone who cares an update, I'm still working on Skyresh. Everything is going slower than usual because I entered finals month and have to pay attention to more college stuff, but I should be coming back with "almost ready to test" things in a week or two.
Still trying to figure out how to make stats grow organically without making the system abusable, while not limiting it too much.
Also I stepped over to a d100 (actually a d%+d10) to make modifiers more interesting and overall scaling slower.
who are the best necrons and why are they the maynarkhs

Spread out the bottom pile more before letting the top half fall into the gaps, then push them together. just jamming them down into each other will cause average sleeves to break quicker.
Also shuffle with more of a slant downwards. He can easily see the cards and could shuffle them in an advantageous way for himself. This applies to his deck and yours when an opponent shuffles it.
Always put the deck on the table after and cut towards the opponent. Looks natural and leaves it in a good place for them to pick up.
I usually go for 3 weave shuffles; with the bottom half going into the top half, an overhand shuffle and then 3 more weaves after that. Only because I watched a math vid that said 7 riffles is what randomizes a deck.
I always cut my opponents deck with a half cut, maybe a little higher/lower for variance. But I never shuffle there deck. Also fuck pile shufflers, especially ones who count their cards.
>>45997996
I take it your a casual player? Pile shuffling is specifically meant to count your cards before a match and after SB, it's not even technically shuffling.
The Finals for the playoffs are locked in! One Night Rack and Animeted Clothing couldn't hack it past the semifinals last season, but they've both trumped their rivals (or surrogate rivals) to face off this Monday at 20:00 server time! Don't miss it!

Why are blitzers always depicted as having claws when they don't have claws?
>>45995389
I think it's just a visual shortcut meant to make them stand out as more aggressive than regular players.
Useful for the races which simply making them bigger and beefier doesn't work, like elves or Orcs (because the blitzers can't be bigger than the Black Orcs).

Have you ever DM'd for a group much younger than yourself?
How did it go down, did you enjoy it?
They'll see a father figure with you and will generally either seek your approval and subtly driving conversation towards asking life advice or seek comfort and share their life experiences and reflections.
Being in a position of power (as proper DM should be) only reinforces it
bumping for curiosity
Our first game was when we were sophomores in HS and our DM was one of our teachers. It was hella fun.
Welcome to The Lost Island Quest. Last thread our hero, Alan Rodain, split the party, avoided a trap and met an author whose work he sincerely appreciates. Now, Alan discovers the mind-boggling nature of the 7th floor of the Circle of Mages.

You look round yourself at the open, grassy plains you find yourself in. The sweet, scent of fresh due wafts its way past you. The light breeze sways the surrounding foliage to dance. Only the oddly, out of place wooden door, standing as a lone sentry guarding nothing, provides any sign you are somehow still inside the Circle.
The atmosphere of this land is peaceful and quiet. It provides a stark contrast to the chaotic and bloody situation you were in moments ago. Something about it feels so . . . cathartic. This isn't the first time you've been outdoors among...

“Because we'd just be drawing another innocent world into a pointless, bloody conflict,” Rowe answers for you, arms crossed and eyes gazing towards the horizon. “This place is pure and untainted.” Rowe turns round to study a mountain range off in the distance. “A realm free of humanoid influence, exploitation or domination.” Rowe turns to Flid. “At least that's what the Archmage believes. You stop at an empty gas station and kick out your stand by a pump. Traffic is thin, and only an occasional car whips past behind you. This time of night doesn’t see too much business. You get the pump going, and sit back and try to ignore the hard scent of gasoline in the cool night air.
You’re thus engaged when a little guy in a brown tweed suit walks out of the gas station, inhaling one last puff of smoke before flicking the chewed butt of a cigar onto the ground. When he stomps it out, and that’s...

Just like Izumi, Mutaito, Gohan, and Acer did, they can keep their bodies after death. They'll be training under me, with some other students of mine. Looks like that good word you put in a while back helped speed things along, Acer. Though King Yemma's still a bit miffed over the paperwork.'
