Welcome to A Song of Revenge and Gold: House Malroy Quest. In which you take the reins of a House of storied glorious past since Aegon’s Conquering, but whose fortunes have taken a turn for the worse in the doom that Robert’s Rebellion brought. You are Brynden Malroy, second son to Lord Vamos Malroy and Lady Esemella Hayford and the last living heir to Steadhold and House Malroy. The year is 285AC, two years after the Rebellion and a year after your return to Westeros.
House Malroy is a pre-genned House designed around the idea of a story within the Crownlands of...

For much of your time home in Westeros the Goldroad ended at Blacktower Bridge, traveling west was a mere thought, a memory of your youth. Lands you once hunted with your brothers, played in without a care in the world, gone to the Seven Hells and back, plagued by bandits, wrought with danger, rumors of entire communities disappearing overnight had begun to reach your ears. Your Steadhold was still a primary crossing into the Crownlands, and merchants spoke freely when invited to table. The lands descended into chaos, wretched from the Red Bastard’s hands, death was common, merchants need triple their guard when passing through. Yet here you were, traveling along the Goldroad, your uncle Ser Dontos Malroy, and son, Victus following closely after. Ser Lucas Longwaters was by your side, his Knights forming a perimeter of twos about your small train. Dontos had brought along with him Dusky Danse and his cavalry, twenty good men a proper honor guard, and had told you the extra protection was unnecessary, no one would dare to attack him so openly. And yet you insisted, deciding to escort them at least halfway there, there was purpose behind your being there regardless.
-The Night Prior-
“Seven above…” Dontos mutters under his voice in disbelief, his eyes scanning the battlefield. Carnage and destruction abound. Your troops capturing his remaining men with ease as you slide your horse archers into place and finish your wargame.
“That’s game Uncle,” you say with a smile, “What is it, 5-0 tonight?”
“4-1, you still don’t know how to use Engineers and siege engines,” your uncle remarks slacking into his seat across from you. Your wargames had become a nightly ritual, there was a time where you could hardly beat him, his tacts far beyond your own. But you improved, from sheer force of will, practice, and repeated beatings.
Benjin was a help, so rarely he called upon his link of black iron, but before he left he gave you a pile of books. Histories, accounts of battles won and lost, and surprisingly an account of the War of the Stepstones, Daemon Targaryen’s failed bid for a Kingdom of his own. You had searched it for mentions of your family, remembering the shield as it sat lonely in your hall, but to little avail.
“I still won that round,” you respond laughing a bit, unbuttoning your doublet and letting things breathe, your hand brushes where once Isis’ braid sat, the empty pocket now only holding letters. You finger at one in particular, the seal still unbroken.
“Another then?” Dontos asks, rearranging his pieces. He took a genuine joy in your want to learn, the past few months had been the best you had ever gotten along.
“I think enough for tonight Dontos,” you say, pulling the letter out, the unmarked wax of gold catching the remaining light of the day and your Uncle’s eye, “We need our rest for tomorrow’s journey. We have two very important people to meet.”
Dontos’ eyes hardly leave the letter, “I have only to escort Lady Chelsted. Who-?”
You walk around the table and place the letter into your Uncle’s hands, “Someone very dear will be attending Dontos. I had yet to tell anyone but you. Lord Arryn’s wife, Lady Lysa Tully will be attending the wedding, and bringing along a guest. Tomorrow I will be escorting Lady Tully and-”
“Isis,” Dontos says slowly, “She… She is coming home?”
“For a few days. Lord Arryn attending to the details. Royce was fit to burst from anger. Moments after the Princewood had been taken from him, in front of the court and all to see. He could not refuse. I do not know if she knew his intentions, but she seemed… Happy when I met with her. She insisted I give you this letter.”
“So I could become the Knight I once was,” Dontos responds, looking to you, a tear having fallen from his cheek to the final words of the letter. He chuckles lightly, “She says I frighten them. The ‘Black Knight’ is on their tongues any time they come near. Beautrice Blount, Lord Linden Langward’s wife, despises me, says her brother could beat me any day of the week...”
You place a hand on his shoulder, “Isis always knew you what you could achieve, even when we were little.”
“Someday Uncle Dontos. You’ll be the greatest Knight in the Seven...

You're now tasked to make the Holy Bible into a table top game. What do?
>>46075185
Don't touch the New Testament, because that will literally only end in disaster, and then make a game where the party plays as Old Testament heroes doing heroic things.
Something along the lines of Jeopardy or Trivial Pursuit. They're bad examples, but I think you get the idea: the players are tasked with studying the Holy Word of God, and then get points for answering questions correctly about it. Prizes given out according to people's final scores, including gift cards for the local Christian book store, recipes for healthy products, locally-produced works of art, subscriptions to Christian magazines, and tickets to the annual church group camping trip. After the game, there is an open discussion on what what we've learned...

It would probably be along the lines of a low fantasy or magical realism thing, wouldn't it? One thing I would do for the setting is make things focused on praying as well as divine integrity, which means sinful acts would potentially hurt the amount of power you could get from praying.
Praying itself is somewhat toned down as you obviously cannot turn to God to move mountains or to give you strength to do so, so you pray to give things such as buffs or temporary abilities that fit within the bible like parting water. Sinful acts deplete the power you get until you...

What's the difference between 1st and 2nd ed Dark Heresy?
>>46075396
Apart from the setting being in different sectors, 2E is a bit more polished, and certain things like Righteous Fury and the game's economy have been fundmentally changed. In addition, chargen and progression is more free form, like some of the later systems like BC and Only War.
With some of the expansions adding player favourites like Minor Psychic Powers, daemon weapons, possessions, dark pacts, and hilariously broken Xeno weapons back in, the differences are shrinking, and the two systems are similar...

Considering you need 75 influence, I don't see how anyone would be starting as an inquisitor anyway. Unless you're being retardedly generous with how much you're dishing out.

Hey guys. By the way, did you like the map last week?
These are icons I never got to place on the map. I was going to place them at the capitals to show... well, where each capital and major city are, but somehow I wasnt quite happy with them.
Yes, the first one is a farm. Its meant to go UNDER the hex grid layer so it wouldnt show the edges.
The 2nd is for "Free City States" but Im still debating about it.
I...

Which of those worlds is most trans friendly?
Does "rigid traditional gender roles, general attitude of homophobia" mean I'd have to act like a man or would I get the female treatment?
Would divine healing turn me into a girl or would I get turned cis?

If you want to use character art use it otherwise I'm fine.

The ultimate compromise. The vote will probably be close.
>Player Question
If you can find something that actually looks like them. In my process I usually use character art to come up with the character so I know it fits. It's not really a big deal to me whether or not you have art.
These two stare at your party as they approach the city.

If anyone can lend me a hand, I'm looking for personal craft, sleek, aerodynamic, and quick. Something a bounty hunter could live out of, and use as he bounces from planet to planet in search of his bounties.
Also, post sci-fi art.

Nahiri dun fucked up now
Can I get some general construction advice for my Anafenza deck? Here's what I have currently:
1 commander
38 creatures
19 spells
10 enchantments
1 artifact
31 lands
ITT: Interesting things, small, irrelevant facets to put on the party's path. Things that flesh out the campaign and can lead to great stories growing out of PCs assumptions.
Pic related but sadly unimaginative.

Well... What's going on in your setting? Is there a war or something? A drought? Leave telltale signs of whatever's going on, and it doesn't always have to be something bad or depressing.
>>46073215
Actually It's draconic disease. But >>46072928 has a cool idea.
Is there any reason to actually buy models and start playing WH40k in its current state ?
Is there any reason to actually post on 4chan in its current state?
>>46072266
I wouldn't buy into the current edition.
Buy minis and play something like Mordheim or Necromunda. There's rules for both online. Frostgrave or Gorkamorka work too.
>>46072266
Some models are a joy to convert, paint and play in a scenario with friends and the fluff, despite slowly falling apart, still holds the basic principles that made it great and offer an entertaining setting to use.
It's like walking on a minefield with the risks, but the other end is still the same sweet nectar it was years ago.
