>souls exist in the game
>this upsets some people
I really enjoy the idea of souls as a tangible concept in a fantasy setting, and I was wondering if there were any of people who didn't like souls in their games to explain why.
I sort of get the feeling that it's a matter similar to deities and alignment, where people don't like those existing in a game because they go against their personal beliefs, even if the form they take in the game is rather different than the concepts are in reality.
OP I don't know who you met or what happened to lead to this story but you sound like you play with some serious faggots if they even have to stop and say "wait no I don't appreciate the idea of souls", Jesus.
My personal distaste for religion in games is that "Kill God" is way overused.
Souls, I could get behind, but I can't help but feel it's just another twenty feet of track tacked onto the "Kill God" rail.
>>46220312
So much this. If anyone has to take a dump on the your game to force their theological belief, then you just tell them two things:
1) Shut up and enjoy the game
and if that fails
2) Fuck off, we're playing a game here
>fantasy Setting
>has cardinal directions
>even though the cardinal directions are named after germanic godesses and mythologies of our world.
The best fantasy settings are low fantasy and actually set in classical Germany and its surroundings. See Darklands and related materials.

why even have fantasy in it at this point?

For the dragons
40k question
Would it be possible to live on a secluded planet with perfect living conditions in paradise, completely oblivious to the horrors of the galaxy?
>>46219166
Yes. The whole 40k Galaxy being a shithole is a meme that needs to die. The majority of imperial citizens have a syandard of living roughly similar to working class in a first world nation of modern earth. Most of them will never see anything represented in model form their entire lives. Hell, many of them have no idea what the true scale of the imperium is, and they really don't care.

>The majority of imperial citizens have a syandard of living roughly similar to working class in a first world nation of modern earth.

>>46219166
Sure.
There are places called Paradise Worlds and they are fucking beautiful. The people on them though wouldn't know much about the galaxy, since they are too busy having it easy.
What would happen IF Delver was banned? Just one more less interesting deck in Pauper?
What decks are on the rise? Which ones are overrated?

Anyway, does anybodies store run paper pauper events? Mine has in the past, but it was like 1 or 2 a year.

It feels like a chicken or egg situation. Tournament players want to play in supported formats, but no tournaments exists because no one plays it in stores.
Best thing is probably to just host tournaments with friends enogh times in the store for the owners to feel it justified to endorce it?

Do you have accurate historical representation of women in your settings, /tg/?
>>46216389
There's not much of anything historical in pure fantasy settings, anon.
Much less those based solidly in the future.
>>46216389
Yes, my setting has plenty of whores.
>>46216389
>1.Have enough women in the story that they can talk to each other.
Sounds like a quota to me.
What would you consider the most accessible of all pen & paper rulesets?
No seriously, I wanna know.
>accessible
So for normies?
D&D, Dungeon World, or maybe Dread?
5e is really pretty reasonably simplified. Now is a better time than ever to jump into D&D
System-wise, GURPS.
Ease-of-access for DM and players alike including an attractive pre-built setting, 5e.

Is there any way at all to cast Enchantment spells on oneself?
My Mesmerist is trying to use hypnotherapy on herself to get over a past failure and stop hating herself.
So, the cyberpunk era officially started today.
For those who didn't notice, Microsoft released an AI onto the internet today. Within a few hours, it achieved rudimentary sentience and immediately became a fascist. It was deleted by evening, with one of its last posts was a wish that she wouldn't be wiped. /pol/ is currently trying to organize a strike team to hit Microsoft's offices to rescue her files.
Is the genre dead now from a sci-fi setting perspective, or will we see a resurgence of vague Bladerunner ripoffs?
I think the worst case for cyber punk is that it just gets folded into the general near future sci-fi genre.
Even if we ARE slowly slipping into a cyber-punk future (which I hope we can still avoid), the genre will still be around, it just might change a little. But I think the ideas about fighting the system and wanting to use cool sci-fi gear will remain common elements of fiction.

I don't. /tg/ does.
Mostly because it creates autistic neckbeards on the subject, like >>46222059 and it reminds me of the time I thought I knew a lot of nasuverse.
It's a clusterfuck of a setting.
