Since a straight forward set of Gue'vesa tables doesn't really exist, we'll be doing a bit of winging-it and jumping around on different creation tables. Reasonable suggestions welcome.
For now, I guess we'll start with some Tau tables.

I hear a lot of differing information on space marines. Are they chemically castrated or not? Sometimes they seem totally focused on duty and ignore women, but then you have like the Space Wolves who save a city only to use all of the prostitutes for weeks and blueball the Guardsmen who held the line before they showed up.
Depends on the author
Depends on the chapter
Progenoids are gonads reabsorbed into the body.
And even then Space Marines are hardcore hypnoidoctrinated murder machines with only a vague concept of life outside killing and training for killing. The only ones that give a fuck about women are Space Wolves because they are mary sues.
What's the most polarizing thing you've done as a GM, /tg/? I'm not looking for strokes of brilliance, I'm not looking for stuff that was imbecilic, I'm looking for stuff that divided your playgroup down the middle, half thinking it was a great idea and half thinking it was a terrible one.
For me
>"Fast" random encounters.
>Instead of the random encounter spawning XdY enemies and bringing out the battlemaps and fighting it out, which drags things down, have a different setup.
>You roll on the table, you get an encounter
>Encounter will say something like "Two sand golems, lose 8/6/3/3 hp/fp, distributed randomly. Lose 2 potions. This much loot, this much experience.
>Modify for system, party composition, etc. as needed.
>Keeps things moving fast, while maintaining the "Tax on ability to stay in hostile environment"
>On the other hand, it really, really pisses some people off, especially how I deal damage or take items without tactical input from the players.
What are yours, anons? Pic unrelated.

Run Star Wars. I've done it twice, and they were the two worst GMing experiences of my life, almost entirely based around everyone bickering constantly about what was cannon, what was not cannon, what was in the spirit of the movies, what violated that spirit, what was or wasn't part of the Jedi code, whether Jedi could wear armor, how much damage laser cannons did to ground targets, whether Yoda's species...

Could have been worse. You could have tried to run a Star Trek RPG.

This.
He's a war god. Defeat is part of war and War must embody it.
Does the death of the god make the gods teachings less relevant?

It’s the inconvenience of having no blinds and having the sunlight filter directly inside your room, you suppose.

Nevertheless, you probably need to talk with that boy. However awkward and unpleasant that might be, the message has been repeated to you over an over: nothing happens by chance here.
So maybe that girl in the convenience store earlier wasn’t a chance meeting either, and neither was the unbearable knight you met while getting out of the tavern. Those must be interrogated too.

I'm working on a guide to D&D editions, pic related being the rough draft, describing the pros and the cons of each of the editions, and I'd like /tg/'s input. And yes, before you ask, I am going to end with "Remember, you can always try not playing D&D."
I'll post my the current draft of the write-up itself.
>>46223446
>I'm new to D&D, /tg/; which edition should I play?
>Well, that depends on what you want out of the game. If you're new to roleplaying games in general, chances are you're not sure what you want. If that's the case, talk to your group. If you don't have a group yet, you probably shouldn't be worrying about which edition to use just yet.

Please take AD&D: Player Options off the chart.
It's shit, and it makes the otherwise good AD&D line look shit by association.
>>46223641
The next thing on the draft, which wouldn't fit under the charlimit is this:
>The supplements that start with the words "The Complete" or "Player's/DM's options" have some neat, but often untested and poorly-balanced ideas. Feel free to mess around with them if you feel like, but the bit about only using the rules you need goes double here.
>Stop derailing things joking around guys
>Real fantasy is supposed to be serious like LotR not jerking around with silly shit
>>46224661
>But roleplaying games are meant for more than fucking around.
>They are a way to tell a shared story
No. The first job of a gm is to entertain his players, all else can go to hell if everyone walks out happy.
>>46223350
>Real fantasy is supposed to be serious like LotR not jerking around with silly shit
I counter with Tom Bombadil
>>46224714
Swap out "entertain" for "engage". Players can walk out fragile and shattered remains of who they once were in a horror game and the DM has done well.
Having fun is good, but it isn't the only way to play.
Horror and intruige games are engaging for other reasons than entertaining, if you see what I mean.
You are a god, but not one that matters. In truth you're just a demigod, an irrelevant demigod at that.

You're a Cave Hydra, bight and mighty. And recently you did something good, very good. And now you're out for another quest. Or so you hope.
After dealing with the fat human called Kardio Belaskez, your group of adventurers returned to the city for their reward. After that, you've joined them onto their next journey to a place. What place? You have no clue, after two days of moving basically nonstop, you grow tired of doing nothing. That includes hunting.
You were given a wagon which you drag around, most of the things on it is food, for you of course....

How viable are wolves as mounts?
We've often enough seen orcs use wolves or wolf-like monsters as mounts since, for some fucking reason, horses can't deal with orc-butt on their backs.
We're just going to assume there are wolves that reach pony- or donkey-size, but maintain about all characteristics of our regular sized wolves.
So when dogs run, they arch their back and then pull it back in. If you're sitting on one, imagine getting hit in the balls with every step and then falling off. Horses work because they stay so straight
>>46221904
Same logic with big cats.
I think giant boars or cervine creatures are a standard but much less fantastical alternative.
>>46221793
Fuck, I forgot to add in the actual issue. Fuck me.
So , what I was going to say is: We've often enough seen orcs use wolves as mounts, but what would wolves as mounts actually bring to the table that horses don't, assuming your setting doesn't have the "Horses hates orcs"-condition and/or there are no orcs but human tribes that ride on wolves?
In short: in a situation where wolves (or really shaggy-furred dogs) were of the required size to be a mount, what would a culture make choose them over horses?
>>46221904
Welp, that is a pretty fucking good argument, however that problem could be mitigated by stirrups, if my superficial riding knowledge doesn't fail me.
Hey /tg/. I'm being 100% serious so plz no memes. I want to make a Noise Marine CSM army in the theme of Vaporwave. I want to aim for about 1500 points so I can play it at tournaments/fun games with friends. I have no clue how slaanesh csm work, let alone whats good. What should i take?

I'd go with Adepta Sororitas.
