Just gonna shamelessly plug my game again. We've got three people so far, one or two more would be ideal.

Weird setting dawg. But good on you for going full force on it.
Good luck getting players.
My party is up against a Huge foe for our very last session of a very long campaign. How do you have a flavorful fight with something that massive? He is basically a newborn evil god that the party has been preparing all campaign to fight. I dont want it to be like every other fight, i want something special here. What do you guys do for fight of this size?
Also post pics of evil looking humans if you dont mind.
>>46331468
Shit, meant to post this pic
>>46331486
You meant to post a thumbnail?
>>46331468
Make him look medium sized, but every time he attacks, his huge dark shadow leaps out of him
I watched this movie yesterday and it got me in the mood for a western RPG.
Any good wild western RPGs or even wild western settings?
Savage Worlds + Deadlands Reloaded, remove weird supernatural stuff if that's not your bag, enjoy
Alternately there's Boot Hill if you want to get really old-school I guess

This gaijin baka omaroshi
Alignment question here.
What would an assassin be that has decided to kill the entire leadership of a nation (King+family+advisors/Council+high-ranking bureaucrats/whatever) to get rid of the corruption that has taken hold in it? He has gotten sick of how the aristocrats fuck over the people and everyone under them again and again and wants to end this by murdering every corrupt person he can get his hands on.
Good because he wants to do the world a favor by removing an evil from the picture?
Evil because he slaughters hundreds of people?
I ask because...

WHICH EDITION?
>>46331277
Lawful Evil at a guess.
If you can Smite Evil, you can also Detect Evil. Also, in the game where you have Smite Evil as an ability, all Assassins are explicitly evil as a prerequisite to their class so if he ever becomes non-evil he loses all his class abilities and can be beaten by any idiot.
And yes, the person you are describing is Evil, by the alignment rules of 3.5. As explained in the alignment books (Book of Exalted Deeds and Book of Vile Darkness), an Evil character can still have good goals. Unless every one of the aristocrats are Evil, and have done Evil things, and the assassin knows...

Who here has their own gaming table? I'm sure most of us use the kitchen table and a few chairs and coasters. But I've spent the past year thinking "Man I wish I had my own special gaming table", and this is the year for it. Summer is just around the corner and I'm spending it in the garage making a table and I'm after inspiration.
Anyone with a special designated table, did you have raised edges, if so how much? They seem somewhat necessary to keep dice escaping and cards falling, but the edge would make or break it I feel.
>>46331264
Here's mine, it's got small raised edges, which eventually I'd like to slightly cushion. Haven't decided how yet though.
Plans here: https://www.mediafire.com/?c3kscwhez9cesqa
>>46331264
I've seen the Geek Chic tables and they're pretty great, but way too expensive, even for a handmade, bespoke piece. They have all sorts of storage and drawers that make my organizational heart flutter, and the dropped playing surface is great for putting a game on hold temporarily, but the pricetag sours the whole thing.
So I'd like to DIY one, but have yet to find plans that look good. And then there's my total lack of skills...
>>46332887
That's really neat. Are you a board gamer, card gamer or RPGer primarily? I see a lot of board games but don't want to assume. I'm thinking about felt as a basis for mine, was wondering if you'd thought the same, or if you didn't then why not?

You took Edward to church, where you introduced him to Father Federico. He agreed to tutor the young orphan. When you went to the shop, you encountered a tall German, by the name of Otto of Bavaria. He offered you a business proposition; Duke Welf of Bavaria was in need of supplies for a war that King Henry IV would start. The war would be a show of strength against all those who seek to rebel against the King of the...

>5th of August, 1095.
>Four o’clock.
You close the door of the shop behind you, looking up at the sun. While sunset was still some hours away, going to the docks would take up at least another forty minutes. Resolved to get more information on the mysterious Bavarian, who may or may not be a smuggler, you set out on the long walk.
As you walk through your own street, a lot of your fellow storekeepers stop to greet you. Your name still held some power in this street. Most of these people could still remember your father, who always went that extra mile to ensure his customers were happy. Thanks to that, a lot of your customers are sons and daughters of your father’s customers.
Forty minutes later, you finally arrive at the docks. Rows after rows of ships, docked in the deep-water harbors of Venice. In the distance, you could see a few larger ships, unable to dock. The tavern stands on the middle of a large pier, flanked by a pair of trading posts. As you approach it, you can hear the drunks inside yelling and laughing.
You take a deep breath, before opening the door to the establishment. It smelled exactly as you remember; like cheap imported beer. As you walk past the busy tables, you notice some of the tavern wenches turning to look at you. They’d never seen you in such fancy clothes. Over in the corner, you spotted three captains bent over a map, no doubt plotting the best routes to sail. You reminded yourself to find some dependable captains. As you step up to the bar, you order yourself a mug of beer.
Once you finally get it, you take a deep swig from it. How you missed that bitter taste.
>Ask the bartender about a Bavarian.
>Take a seat at an empty table.
>Sit down with the captains.
>Flirt with one of the tavern girls.
>>46329502
We should attempt to find either a person of; higher standing, with good connections, rich as shit/got large tracts of... land, good as shit with business or adorable and all that romance shit.
To simplify; either she benefits our family hugely somehow or she is a qt3.14 with decent skills

Makai. You've heard stories about it.
Not many, admittedly. Makai comfortably falls into something you might call Tenngaru's “secret history”. Things like human sacrifice, sorcery and other dark aspects lurk beneath the surface history that many people know – or think they know. In a few of oldest...

“You'll want this,” Soma tells you, holding out a boxy metal object. You take it and hold it for a moment, examining it carefully. A kind of metal mask, with glass lenses and a clunky filter built over the mouth. “The air here might not be safe,” Soma explains, “Even if it's perfectly breathable, you might not want to get a lungful of this dust. Take it – it's a gift.”
Very generous, you mutter as you accept the mask. Watching closely as Soma puts it on – it straps at the...

The silence draws out as Soma leads you along an ambling path, her own uncertainty put on cruel display by the simple fact of her aimless route. The Seer wanted you to see this place, Makai, and Soma wanted you to look for her missing brother, but where would you start? It's almost as if the Seer was expecting you to find something, some grand gesture that would convince you to join his cause in an instant.
If that was his intention, he'll be sorely disappointed. Beyond the fact that you're...

How has your character/s grown throughout the course of your game? Either as a character, or as a set of stats.(Or both)Thread Image is by Amy Veeres, she posted it a couple threads ago, I just slapped the CofDG thing on because I didn't have anything else and I didn't just wanna use another of my old WoDG images

My Werewolf character a while back went from kind of a goof with a guitar to the Alpha of his pack, presenting evidence to the rest of the local Forsaken packs to advocate taking out the Lodge of the Field.
So it appears I have the old nWoD hard-cover book. What are some of the major changes in the second edition and how popular/known is it now?
>>46318348
Mostly just rules, most of which you can get for free here: http://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/114078/World-of-Darkness-GodMachine-Rules-Update
Some rules are in the new core, but they're not super vital to running a game. It's mostly popular, with a few 1e holdouts like that Camilla person who posts here every now and then. The general impression is that it's a general improvement with some wonkiness.

If you were to run a tabletop campaign set in the Warcraft universe, in which era would you set it?
To what faction would the party belong?
Which major characters from the lore would you include?
Would you change them in any way? How and why?
What liberties would you take with the setting for a more interesting experience?
Why are Draenei females best?
>>46286933
>If you were to run a tabletop campaign set in the Warcraft universe, in which era would you set it?
Either 3-5 years before the Third War or in the period set between TFT and Vanilla.
>To what faction would the party belong?
If before WC3, Alliance. If between TFT and Vanilla, I'd allow the players to play whatever race they wanted so long as they were willing to work out a good reason for why their character might work alongside a traditional enemy of theirs.
>Which major characters from the lore would you include?
Depends on how the campaign played out, but I'd try to expose the players to as many important lore figures without making it feel too forced or hammy.
>Would you change them in any way? How and why?
Nope. I'd try to remain as faithful to the characters as possible, because the point of a Warcraft game is trying to make my players feel like they're in the world of Warcraft and not my own personal fanon/headcanon wankfest.
>What liberties would you take with the setting for a more interesting experience?
As few as possible, though obviously certain things would need to be bent to accommodate the game. If anything, I'd try to spend more time exploring the inner political workings of both factions.
>Why are Draenei females best?
Not muscular/thick enough, desu.
