I forgot this existed.
Is it any good? I've been wanting a good tactics board game lately.

Not bad for 30$
It's a bit simplistic, it's really a kids game in the vein of heroscape. Quite enjoyable, and the tiles and minis are almost exactly like 'scape
>>46444165
Heroscape always looked fun, shame it died.
This doesn't sound like a ringing endorsement though.
>>46444165
>It's a bit simplistic
Is this simplistic for a strategy board game? I never played Heroscape but I found the rules extremely vague and confusing, and often kind of arbitrary and contrived. The book it comes with doesn't explain engagement, for example, at all, despite having references to it, and I find that mechanic to be so contrived me and the guys I play it with have a hard remembering to do it just because it doesn't come naturally to me and feels like some sort of concession to melee units. But maybe people who are used to these kinds of games find it more comfortable.
I do think it's fun to play, but I find with my lack of experience with the genre that it was hard to pick up and get into. I'm still not sure we play it 100% correctly. And there's lots of holes in the rulebook because I think it assumes familiarity with Heroscape.
what level would a party of 6 have to be to fight a level 12 shaman and a level 8 wizard

Welcome to Eternal, the alt-history game.
Here's the scenario:
You are teleported back to the year 6000 BC
>About 3000 years before writing was invented
You get to bring the clothes on your back and one additional item (something that would cost less than your life savings to buy)
>Hurr durr I bring an aircraft carrier full of everything lol
Assume you also teleport with an ok immune system for the time period and location.
The (recommended, I'm not forcing...

If you roll 1-4, you can pick Britannia though.
You still need to pick an item as well.

The magical testing was where you got nervous. Inscribing massive rune circles, Veles had both of your step inside one at at a time as he channeled energy into the runes. Feeling pinpricks along your body you suffered through the mystical examination as well as you could, as Veles scribbled away into another one of his journals. Running Liama through the same rune only seemed to confuse him more, and increase the frantic scribbling.
"So what's the prognosis, doc." You say in a feeble attempt...

Meeting with a Johnson is always an interesting experience. No two are alike, except, perhaps, in how much they try to be mysterious. You personally have only interacted with a handful of Johnsons during your early adult years. Each time you let others carry the conversation, acting mostly as extra muscle and as lookout. This time around, however, you might be in the hot seat. Which, given you plan to turn on everyone involved at some point, would be rather ironic.
Mariet isn’t able to squeeze any meaningful details or hints out of the Johnson before the pre-arranged...

The three seated individuals seem like your average Joes. Two men and one woman. Only one has on anything resembling typical Lancer style - an overcoat worn by the woman. All three are constantly checking their surroundings. When they notice you they stop and watch as you approach.
“How is the soup here?” you ask, using the pre-agreed upon challenge/response.
“You’d be better having rainwater,” replies the woman.
She shifts over in the booth to make room for you. You take a seat...

I want to play a casual and cheap TCG with my friends by doing something like this
>buy cheap theme/preconstructed deck
>buy one booster pack each week or two when we get together for games
>as a group, adjust decks and trade stuff
So my question is, what game would give the best experience using this set-up? I figured MtG would be fun because with only 5 colors, I feel like people wouldn't be too limited to what they can put in their deck from their booster.
I...

Both Android: Netrunner (https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/products/android-netrunner-the-card-game/) and Game of Thrones (https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/products/a-game-of-thrones-the-card-game-second-edition/) are quite decent card games that don't require a large invesment. They get monthly expasion packs that come with playsets of 10-15 new cards for all factions, and major thematic expansion packs that focus on only one or two factions, that also come with full playsets or cards.

Which of the fallen Primarchs would have made the biggest difference had they stayed loyal? excluding the ones that went traitor to survive because the lore would have them fucked over anyway.
>>46434689
PowerTurbo maybe? He could have fortified the Imperium
>>46434689
Perturabo, maybe. A massive fucking Legion(close to 200,000 marines), ridiculous firepower and a brilliant strategic mind. Not to mention that He was one of the most physically powerful Primarchs.
Without the Iron Warriors to do the hard work of preparing for and operating a protracted siege, the Battle of Terra might have been a much different affair.
>>46434799
This.
Fulgrim might also be a contender. If he hadn't turned Ferrus wouldn't have been baited onto Isstvan V, meaning the Dropsite Massacre would hace gone down differently.
On the other hand, which traitor was the least influential? I'm thinking Curze, maybe Mortarion.

Silence.
The death of Rust Kaiser is an abrupt thing, an impossible truth made manifest. Between one heartbeat and the next - Between the charging of the Singularity Cannon, the last wisps drawn into the yawning abyss - the world begins to move again.
Light returns, first. Not the sickly light of Alura's inferno, or CHERNOBOG'S furious discharge; but true light, a harsh grey illumination like the exhalation of a metal god. It issues from the Memory Towers, all sharp-angled black iron and...

There is a gagging, choking roar. ANIMA reels back, hellish half-real black shape swirling, re-forming, writhing. Rotten gore spurts, as it rakes at itself with great claws - that vast maw swinging back and forth in frenetic motion as the Cryptid gouges at its own flesh. The vast beast convulses, with frantic inner motion - it is choking, gagging. Tumors bulge beneath the surface of the horror's leathery carapace, sickly wet sounds spewing forth-

Well, I'm here this week.
I hope someone else will be.
You are Irue. The next few hours would determine whether 'Valen' remained part of your name or not, which was a fact that concerned you... Surprisingly less than you had expected it to. The past few months had seen you gaining a variety of new experiences ranging from minor endeavours into kitchenmancy to taking enthusiastic walks through the woods. You had stepped into the nearby town of Carona and discovered you hated it, then made new friends - Most of whom you also discovered you hated.
You had been a noble, the blood heir to an entire family of nobility,...

You are Irue. You promised to help a ragged band of brigands to find a better life. You carried a demihuman across town on your back and ignored the stares and hushed whispers, making an enemy of a town to defend her. You helped an emaciated slave stand on their own. You negotiated the aid of the Shrine and you led the operation to get one of your Testament back while uncovering a plot of treason.
Valen had nothing to do with any of that, it was something you had done on your own. By the end of it, you had become so wrapped up in your own efforts to resolve the problems...

Why isn't there a negative reply? Of any sort?
You're basically in medieval Europe. Being trans would be rough. You probably wouldn't just tell random strangers about your transition, since they might, y'know, call you an abomination and punch you in the mouth.

I hate when games do that on regular conversations. What's the point of having three dialogue options if there's no difference at all in which you choose?
Discussthe culture wins
Space marine augmentations seem more extensive, and definitely seem to serve to make better warriors. Arguably, their technology is better.
In comparison, though, and depending on the specific chapter, their training and doctrine is very typically shit. Spartans are soldiers, not warriors, and they fight like operators, not trophy hunters. They don't pray to their gun, don't mind being disohonorable, don't mind avoiding engagements, and are not above using xenos equipment, and don't limit themselves to the Codex Astartes.
In a direct battle,...

I've been using 4chan for about 10 years now, but only /tg/ for roughly 6 months.
I do have experience as a DM though.
I've been lurking quite a few Quest threads, and always find them comfy as fuck, so I reckonned I'd do my own.
Constructive criticism is very welcome. I did ask the guys in the quest general, so combined with what I like from previous quest threads, I do have some vague idea of what I'm doing.

Why is the world shaking?
As you come more to your wits, you realize you're hanging upside down. At least your hands are free.

As you look around, you can see you seem to be in some sort of crude basement, hanging from a wooden beam.
There's a fair amount of blood on the dirt floor beneath you, and to...
