What are some good tabletop games about deception?
>>46485222
Over the Edge
>>46485222
Secret Hitler.
Game of Thrones, maybe.
Avalon, though if you play it too much, you'll wind up resenting that the game revolves around just lying bold-facedly to each other.
Is poker a game of luck or skill?
>>46479037
Yes.
>>46479037
Both. The skill is in how you react to the luck.
>>46479037
Depends on your local legislative.
>Play Alpha Centauri for the first time, choose Deidre for no reason
>Make alliances, fight vendettas, get betrayed, kill Miriam, Zakarov, Lal, and What's-Her-Face, have a really good time
>Only real threat is Morgan, who's built a huge empire preventing me from reaching the northern section of the map
>After a long, grueling war I finally defeat him
>Turns out I completely forgot about Yang

>>46472232
Have you considered Planet Busters?
If you don't want to reshape the land in thermonuclear fire, you can always add Drop Pods to Missiles and drop them on Yang's cities.
Or simply drown his cities under an unending tide of Locusts, Isles, and Worms. You're Deidre; with the right Secret Projects, Economy, and Base Facilities, you should be nearly unstoppable.

Can someone tell me what the fuck Tzeentch and his followers actually do?
And for that matter, I'd like to use this thread to try to understand the deities of the Warhammer 40k universe better.
They complicate things for the sake of it.
I think people get confused about Tz because of the talk of plans, but you have to understand that there's no more end game for the Changer as there is anyone else. His plots and plans and grand design isn't a means to some end, it's an end itself. There is no final victory, no great finish. Tz wins so long as plans and plots and secrets continue.
Tzeentch is the literal manifestation of planing, hope, lies, knowledge, secrets and change. His followers all have their own hopes and dreams, that only can be accomplished by the help of an outsider. Tzeentch offers to help and in return he wants something done. Ultimately the follower's plans become warped and twisted by tzeentch to suit his needs.
"And what is tzeentch's plan?" you might ask. His plan is to make plans, to continue the game of plotting and trickery as long as their is at least 2 thinking beings in the galaxy.
>>46483353
Among other things, Tzeentch is the grand-daddy patron of sorcery. While Slaanesh and Nurgle have their own sorcerers, Tzeentch is the one that does most of the active recruitment/faustian bargains for unlimited psychic power. So he often corrupts psykers and let them go fucking nuts with their powers, because why not?
What is a proper way for fey to troll PCs with illusions?
>>46481914
Tell them what they perceive. If they get suspicious, let them roll for it.
They see mirages in the desert when actually they're in a sylvan forest the whole time.
>>46482013
That's pretty fucking epic. Can we go with small magical powers? Just something for the lulz?
What sorts of factions would pop up in the immediate aftermath of the apocalypse, besides small survivor groups?
>>46481217
>Where is the apocalypse taking place?
>Who survived the apocalypse?
>What kind of apocalypse is it?
Fuck's sake, give us something to work with.

Since OP a shit: Modern day zombies? Good question, horrible pitch.
Mostly just co-operative agricultural networks. Forget all the gun-ho shooting and raiding shit. People would be starving, not raiding.
Hey guys what is your favourite Whoreammer race? Mine is Dark Eldar they are dark, twisted and sadistic just like me I love listening to Papa Roach while painting my Sasuke Corps.
DA ORKZ ARE DA BIGGEST AN DA GREENEST
Orks are the very definition of alpha and only Space Marines and Khorne are 'ard enough to take the boys on.
OP, that is some truly awful trolling. For shame.
What is your opinion of Fantasy Flight Games?
X wing is fun. Thats all I have played
>>46480863
A bit costly for most titles, but their components are always top notch.
I dislike how they plan for expansions to shit though. This can lead to some games being horribly underwhelming with a base set of whatever you are playing until you beef it up with extra shit.
The LCG model was a good shot in the arm for people who do enjoy playing card games with customizable decks as well.
On the whole I like more about them then I dislike about them.
Their rulebooks are universally ass though.
>>46480863
I like them, I've had a blast with their 40k games and I recently played a short campaign with their Star Wars system, the funky dice are actually pretty neat.
>Go to a prerelease of MTG

>His sleeves are MLP themed
>He takes a huge pony figure from his bag and puts it on the table besides the mat
Why do people do this?
>>46477632
mind games. He's already out-psyched you, your game will not be on point thanks to his distractions.
Or, you know, he's a socially awkward brony with no concept of appropriateness.
>>46477632
It's mind games. Back in yore my friend did that same thing with anime stuff.
That or pure autism.

There comes a time to decide just what the truth is worth, just what you'd be willing to sacrifice in search of some ultimate answer. Faced with the threat of near-certain death, you have to weigh your options carefully. Is knowing the truth really worth throwing away your life? What if you might never even find...

“You look like a man who's been given some bad news,” Maab says softly when you finish stumbling down the spiralling staircase and meet her. Her voice isn't without sympathy... but there's a light mocking edge in it as well. Not mocking you, so much, but the entire world and the mere concept of predicting the future. “You see now, don't you? The goddess has a good reason for being sparing with her revelations. Often, the truth does more harm than good.”
You don't answer...
