Oh, I like that ability. I use it to overtake fleeing ships because OI'M NORT FINISHED WIV YOU, SPOICE MOROINE.
Agree, though, it makes no lore sense.

I like it too. Although I wouldn't be upset if they removed it.
Not him btw.
So how would Eldar solar sails work in the vidya? Would they be able to speed boost or do any high energy turns?
Outer Edge, a game made by Infinite Odyssey, a company of /tg/ users, for /tg/ users is a pen and paper rpg that takes place in an alternate universe with a heavily populated and diverse milkyway. Players take on the role of mercenaries trying to make a quick buck, and fight criminal organizations, militants, corporate armies, and police in an effort to complete their job.
The game has its very own d20 system passed off a mixture of rules borrowed from Pathfinder and Fallout, featuring classless character creation with thousands of possible character builds. OE also features...

Just gauging the room here: would you be more or less likely to play a D20 system that had no other polyhedral's?
Or are you one of those people who prefers a fun system over specific elements like types of dice?
>>46478002
GAH i fucking hate people who call their system based on the fucking die size! THE d20 system is a very specific thing, nobody calls World of darkess "d10 system"! Fuck you OP you illiterate cunt
That said, True20 is a d20 system that only uses the one die and it's bretty cool.
Fewer dice types means more MATHMATHMATH to try and get correct odds and result ranges, plus half the fun of this hobby is throwing bug handfuls of silly-shaped plastic
>>46478002
It doesn't matter to me.
There are some perfectly fine systems that only use the d20. Mutants & Mastermind and HeroQuest are two which come to mind. They work perfectly fine at that, although there are times when the size of the d20 seems to be a concern. I'd probably prefer games which use some other single die, like d6 (Shadowrun) or d10 (Eclipse Phase) and can use multiple for good effect.
The benefit of different dice is to easily pick the die for the scale needed, rather than adjusting...

Or are they always going to be evil or amoral? Can they not help people out out of goodness in their hearts?
>>46477654
Retarded question. Depends on setting.
>>46477654
Depends on the kind of demonand setting.
Personally, i'm fine with non-evil demons, as i usually runn more light-hearted campaigns.
HORDES OF IRREDEMABLE EVIL can be a fine plot device, but tend to get boring.

Since physical age and actual age are completely unrelated for vampires, refuse to fall for its trick and kill it out of self defense. File a complaint with the agency that I was provided faulty intelligence.

Shoot it, obviously.
If it's the blood of her parents dripping on her from my weapon, then she is the child of those elders. Vampires cannot conceive, therefore she must have been born to them when they were mortal and turned as a child. Therefore, she must be an elder herself, and is attempting to use her appearance to influence me.

Let's do this
Nurturing a (war)gaming community
I'd like to hear what others have experienced or conceived as systems for developing a strong wargaming community. Also, feel free to mention common pitfalls, critique my view, anything constructive.
The following are three brands I've had some small experiences with and will use to illustrate various techniques.
YGO: From what I've observed, the extensive merchandising allows for organized play to focus on maximizing butts in chairs without much concern for negative play experiences. It also doesn't...

Pokémon: Aside from its colossal merchandising, strong intergenerational appeal, and wildly popular video games (which they've incorporated into their organized play), the Play! Pokémon system seems to be their strong point.
Last I saw, there were player sheets with a point tracker and a special challenge mode track. The themes and challenges change monthly corresponding to a gym leader. 2 points are awarded for winning a game, 1 for losing (or learning :v), bonuses for challenge attempts, then some for completing trades, teaching/helping players, and (occasionally...

Amway: A family friend got involved with this scheme. Though I don't support them I believe they utilize an interesting framework which, if adjusted, could be very useful for community building.
If unfamiliar, they recruit people to: 1. Recruit others, 2. Sell Amway products through their own online store. Everyone has an 'uplink', which is their recruiter, and the uplinks get a percentage of every sale. Baked into the scheme is the idea of buying products you already use from your store at 'wholesale' which gets you credits to 'reinvest'...

You probably see it's devious nature, and it's potential. Though Amway fools people into spending money and proselytization, we try to convince others to invest time (((and money, but we obviously don't benefit directly from that and can even bring down cost of entry))) and eventually proselytize. Analog games need local recruits, and more recruits increases opportunity. Although Actual gamplay may be the most sought-after opportunity, I feel there are two more, and each reinforce the others: Social (personal/game talk) and Physical (constructing, converting,...

Dare someone to post a better helmet then this.
I really enjoy the concept of reality warping abilities in Science Fiction novels, movies and games. The ability of some people where they can make almost dream like changes in what reality is and how it functions.
However I really hate 'psychic' powers in science fiction and fantasy.
Does anybody else understand what I'm talking about?

But psychic powers are just reality warping which is powered by the mind, anon. A high-level psychic rips reality apart just as well as same-level wizards and reality benders.
That said, I like more realistic forms of psychic powers - telekinesis, for example, should tire someone faster than just using their hands to move shit. Supposedly the Russian psychic Nina Kulagina lost 3kg of body mass after one test.
